I'm really glad you enjoyed it, it's a beautiful part of the country and the car is absolutely stunning in person. It was a bucket list item for me, hopefully I can do some more of this on the channel.
Thank you Henry, I'll try to film a few more group b cars, and maybe I'll up my game a little when recording, it's tough fitting all of this in with a towing buisness.
Honestly it is an amazing car, it's a real treat to ride in, it's like being inside an 80's rally video! I had an awesome time in it. I hope that came across :)
I never understood why the Celica never got the attention that the other big names in Group B got. It was bloody awesome and successful as hell. Probably among the top 5 in the class. Won many rallies.
Absolutely, it was the coming in of the 4wd cars that subsequently dominated rallying that overshadowed it, but the rwd celica was mega reliable and tough and was very successful on tough rallys
One of the most beautiful Group B rally cars ever made.
I absolutely agree, and its in incredible condition too, stunning car up close
Stunning machine. Sounded sensational when the turbo really kicked in and the revs picked up! Immortalised by Tamiya.
I had one as a kid, I was blown away when I got the chance to go in the full size version. It was one super quick car, and the owner can really drive.
Amazing history on this car bloody brilliant 👍
I love it too, the fact that it's all hand built and still driven hard is so cool, and Ross is a brilliant driver and super nice guy.
In life, you sometimes hear a noise that just makes you smile stupidly.
The acceleration on this is one of them.
I couldn't wipe the smile off my face for days, and I can immediately hear gear whine and turbo!!!
Man, all the best noises AND what a great back country road too. Thanks for sharing

What a legendary car! Also that livery is absolutely beautiful.
Ross really did a fantastic job, it was an amazing car to see in person, and even better to go for a ride in!
As at ra65 owner thank you for making this video always wanted to see the inside of the group b car 🫡 nice quality video and raw footage 🙏🏾

1:17 Casually references MBS lol
It definitely adds to the engines provenance, it certainly had no money spared on it's preparation!
This is beautiful. All the right noises all the right shapes (80s boxy shapes) . So good

I want to do this to my 83 celica so badly
You should!!! Very rare cars now though, and I do like them in standard trim too. Have you seen mint condition one in my other videos?
Behold the King Of Africa
Absolutely, what a competition history these had! It was incredible to go for a ride in one
I think I can fly. Thanks guys.

@@kingcountrytowing Word. There was a reason it was the king of the safari rally, the most demanding rally on the calender. 😁
