I can almost feel the fresh mountain air just by watching this. Amazing job on showcasing the beauty of nature! Grand Canyon looks epic through your lens James!
Beautiful video wow. I am planning my three day trip to the Grand Canyon but your Day 3 is making me second doubt myself haha. I am wondering however what campground did you stay at after day 2?
I'd say go for it! I didn't mention it in the video because I didn't even realize it at the time, but I think part of why I was feeling so bad at the end was that I forgot any sort of salt for cooking on my trip and didn't have anything really to replace electrolytes from sweating over 3 days down there... think that was catching me at the end when I felt zapped for energy 😅 I stayed both nights at Bright Angel Campground, used it as a base camp to explore from the second day. I was only going to do one, but the backcountry office ranger recommended I do at least two. She was 100% right, I'm glad I got to enjoy my time down there! I'd love to do it again sometime (and be better prepared!), if you're in good shape and pack well, you should go for it! P.s. I'd been traveling in my van for months around the southwest U.S., and I only had the idea / decided to do this 3-day trip a couple days in advance when I got near Flagstaff. I already had my gear in my van and some food I thought I could use down there lol. If you're already planning in advance, you're more prepared than I was! 🙂
What time of year did you hike this trail James? Never mind I heard you say December. I bet you added a few miles to the trip just going back and getting the camera from all the walk by shots!

It’s beautiful, thank you! Careful as I can!
I love your docu-style, very talented. Any plans to document a thru-hike of the AT, PCT, or CDT? Or even a full paddle trek down the Mississippi?
Thank you so much! Honestly, all 4 of those things cross my mind on occasion. We’ll see, they’re definitely a possibility!

Hi from Ireland, great video thanks, why was the Bright Angel trail closed?
Hi, thanks! Planned maintenance on the trail. Should be open by now!

Definitely adds a layer of complexity to my hikes having to backtrack for the camera 😅 fortunately, hiking in December heat wasn't a factor!
How much weight did you sacrifice for camera gear and batteries? I’m usually at 5lbs for a GoPro, Dji Osomo, and an iPhone + battery bank. Nice film!!
Thanks! I’d say somewhere around 7 lbs between my Sony camera, 3 lenses, batteries, tripod. Worth it!
