I actually feel really bad for Laurel. Knowing that you and you alone have two people's fates in your hands, that by casting a single vote, you give a million dollars to one friend and deny it to the other... that's an incredible amount of pressure. Literally a million dollar decision.
The Final 3 should have voted along with the Jury. The Final 3 would be given special ballots, and can't vote for him/herself. If there is a tie than that ballot be used to break the tie. In this season, Jeff will read the ballots (at the live show), and since there is a tie, he will open Laurel ballot's which can only have Dom's or Wendel's vote.
Not to mention having to deal with the fact that you just lost the game in a blowout with zero jury votes. For most people that would be bad enough as it is.

@@rmh941 With 10 jurors a 3-way tie is not possible. The only possible tied scenarios are 5-5-0, or 4-4-2. At least as long as the number of finalists is 3, and number of jurors is 10. I'm certain it isn't coincidence that they make it 10/3 so that 3-way ties cannot happen.
This was the first season I really watched survivor so when he said “I’m going to reveal the votes” and with that reaction I was like “What are they so shocked about?” But now I know why
So technically, Laurel is the only Survivor player in history to know the winner of a season before the final votes are read (or in this case, the one final vote)

2:02 you can see dom’s face, he knew he wasn’t winning as soon as Jeff said that laurel would become the 11th juror and cast the deciding vote. Poor guy
i was expecting dom to win before it started but im happy wendell won i guess. i read an article a while ago regarding game changers where jeff said what would happen in the case of a tie so when jeff started to read the votes i knew laurel would make the deciding vote.
Wendell played a better social game, was overall better in challenges, made strategic moves behind the scenes and also found an idol which he played very well at final 5 (ended up giving him a million bucks) and made his own fake one. Wendell deserved to win over Dom
Dom also found an idol and made a fake one, and he definitely used his better. And he won the final 4 challenge, the most important one. And he played a better social/strategic game, evident by the fact that basically all but 1 or 2 of their alliance members said Dom was the one that pulled them in, not Wendell
i feel like a lot of the jury were needlessly salty, almost to the point of parody and reminded me of the season Rob M finally won. he said his only regret in the game was letting the jury on all stars make him feel bad and he was apologetic towards them and instead of that he wished he would have stood up and told them to kiss his ass.
sebastian vasquez I was rooting for Dom as well, but in retrospect at final tribal he lost jury votes after rubbing the dirt in Sebastian’s face about feigning with his fake idol and taking him out. I think that’s what ultimately ended up costing him the game. Although he came as close as anyone possibly can in survivor.
1:42 For the 1st time, in 36 seasons of Survivor, we have a tie…….here’s what happens in a tie, the person who’s not tied, Laurel, you become the 11th and final member of our jury, and you will cast the deciding vote
what would the tiebreaker be in a 4-4-2 final vote? only the 3rd place final3 person makes deciding vote? do the 2 jury members who voted for 3rd place person also revote?
This is the best example why social game is better than strategic game when it comes to Survivor. Wendell a great social player versus Dominic (arguably one of the best strategic players)
People make jokes about Laurel,I liked her she seemed like a truly sweet and nice lady, yes her game play wasn't great, but she came across as very gentle and kind. And she made the right choice,so glad Wendell won🙂👍
It was very simple; Dom and Wendell were equal best players. Wendell just had added one more last winning step in giving his immunity necklace to Laurel . Dom should have the gut to challenge Wendell for the fire challenge, instead of delegating his million dollars to Angela.... to make the final decision for him. Overconfidence was Dom fatal mistake.
showbizroxs yep. Absolutely. I / many / saw that immediately.. he knew that the Buddies would stick together no matter the facts are how the game was played by either one
Once he started reading the votes, I knew it was a tie because they wouldn't let the tiebreaker vote go home and watch the season. What I didn't know was that there was an even number of people on the Jury so I thought Donathan voted for Laurel and he would have been the deciding factor. But once he said Laurel was the vote, I knew it was over for Dom. Too bad.
Just watched this season...I honestly think since Laurel was Impromptu 11th member of the jury, she should have had a Q&A to avoid any confusion for a true unbiased opinion of who played the better game! Definitely needs to happen under the same circumstances in the future
One of the only two seasons where I feel both the winner and the runner up equally deserved the win. Dom and Wendell played tremendous games. JT and Stephen are the other pair who I feel equally deserved to win Tocantins.
When it was a tie and he had asked Laurel to cast her vote. I knew then they were gonna announced that live. I can imagine how Laurel must've felt when the decision was in her hands and that she had to keep it a secret till the end. I guess future players of Survivor should keep in mind of how they've been towards the people they bring to the end.
1montrealfan that’s the name of the game bro you don’t just shit on people on their way out. Wendell was smart enough to do him a favor (picking him for the reward) when he sent sea bass packing. Wendell deserved all of those votes imo
I feel like I was the only one that actually enjoyed this season. I LIKED the ghost island twist, I think the cast is really underrated - not the best but not bad, I think the amount of advantages and idols is cool and adds more twists and blindsides. I don't really know what everyone's problem w idols and advantages is, so if someone is willing to have a non heated civil conversation about whether idols and advantages are good or bad in the replies then I'm open
This moment is probably what saved this season from becoming one of the worst seasons. Great ending, but a lot of terrible gameplay bu everyone other than Dom & Wendall
I felt after the tie result there should be a revote. If there is a tie again. Than Lauren becomes the last juror and cast her vote. There is always chance a juror switches his/her vote in the revote.
It’s different circumstances though because in the game and actual tribals, they are voting someone out and have a chance of going home via rocks. But here they aren’t voting someone out they are voting for someone to win. And plus their not worried about drawings rocks since they are on the jury lol. Plus they’ve had a two hour final tribal jury questions it’s unlikely someone will change their vote in the span of two minutes on the revote
Imagine being in laurel’s position and voting, then going through however long it takes to get to the finale without being able to say anything to anyone, knowing full well who the winner is but being forced to keep that to yourself
I love how iconic this is but I think laurel should've joined the jury and they'd all have to revote, that way it's not solely placed on her conscience for writing a million-dollar check if no one changes their vote in the revote
Anyone knows what's the rule if it's a final 2 and a tie happens? I know usually in final 2 the jury is an odd number, but Micronesia had an 8 member jury and final 2
2:01 it’s crazy cus as soon as Jeff says that Laurel will decide who wins the million dollars you can see on Wendell and Dom’s face they know who’s gonna win

Tristan Howse honey it was a joke. She was my pick to win since the beginning. I thought Wendel and Dom were annoying but I knew they would both beat her post merge
Kenneth In DONT joke about that
Lmao how tf is it racist...
“Don’t joke about that”
It’s a Laurel or Yanny joke, the whole ‘do you hear laurel or yanny’ thing
I thought that Dom played a better game and I was hoping he would win but congrats to Wendell!!!
Thomas Haught they both legitimately deserved to win, which isn't too typical for finalists
Thomas Haught I would have preferred that Dom won. But Wendell is a deserving winner. I think Dom will play again.
The only useful thing Laurel has ever done ALL SEASON
showbizroxs nope. Pathetic throughout the game... Pathetic with her decision. Cheap win based on emotions / friendship and probably something else
miragexl007 or social game? Which is why Wendell got 5 votes.
That look of defeat @ 1:02 is so heartbreaking. Thats the moment she realized she lost...
Laurel is so underrated
She made stupid moves the entire season. She wasn’t playing to win, she was playing to get to the end
It makes me happy to see the first winner tie occur when the two finalists did sooooo well
2:00 The moment Dom knew he lost
Laurel was my favourite and turned into my least favourite
haha made my day
I was so shook glad it was Wendell he is so deserving of it... And Laurel is a kingsmaker lol
Jordan Vance yep lol
laurel is brain dead
Laure was a sheep
sheep indeed
sustainableman duh I'm just referring to a UA-camr who breaksdown a lot of survivor content
Wendell definitely deserve it! Dom could have easily took Wendall out. That's ironic that Dom chose Cagayan urn, I guess the curse wasn't reverse.
Laurel- From goat to kingmaker!
And because of that, Laurel can comeback to the future season
Chrystjan Lapatha lol true
It's like saying Michaela could come back again.
The fanbase reacted with such toxicity towards her she deleted her social media page. No way they're letting her back.
Ursquidicuss the Great who deleted their social media page. Laurel or Micheala?
Andrew Smith Laurel
Andrew Smith that's unfortunate. she didn't do anything to deserve all that
Is it a concidence that the first five jury members all voted for Dom and the last five jurors all voted for Wendell?!?!?!
Math Man I noticed that too lol
@@szmdkaamskldmas i know this is a late response but at the reunion after the winner is revealed, they show who voted for who.
They line up the votes this way after so it's easier for us to understand
I love Jeff's expression at 0:16, like fuck it I'm going to actually do this right now.
George Jackson wendell in my opinion did good but dom deserv that win more
sebastian vasquez i agree
Wendell played a better social game, was overall better in challenges, made strategic moves behind the scenes and also found an idol which he played very well at final 5 (ended up giving him a million bucks) and made his own fake one. Wendell deserved to win over Dom
I respect your opinion
Mike Mena nope
great points, but I believe dom edged him out in all areas. but there bros, how could you not like dom or Wendell.
Mike Mena opinions vary. And then Unity I owe you played was pretty much a worthless gesture if you actually looked / k n e w what was going on
Dom also found an idol and made a fake one, and he definitely used his better.
Especially Kellyn. Salty dumbass won't keep her mouth shut.
Yeah I lost all respect for whiny Sebastian during this ftc
Outplayedx he got duped soooo bad it was pitiful he didn't see the writing on the wall when Wendell shared reward with him.
Wtf!?!? Dom deserv that win like 100 times more!
sebastian vasquez I was rooting for Dom as well, but in retrospect at final tribal he lost jury votes after rubbing the dirt in Sebastian’s face about feigning with his fake idol and taking him out. I think that’s what ultimately ended up costing him the game. Although he came as close as anyone possibly can in survivor.
Jack Brinkley Sebas wasn’t voting for him anyway
Obviously he didn't
sebastian vasquez Hell no. Wendell and Dom were both deserving.
That edit inclusion of Donathan “Omg it’s over” is a GREAT touch, considering. lol
I feel bad for Laurel lol. Having to make someone lose a million dollars
Sam Parker if they merged at 12 instead of 13 then their would've been 9 people and 2 people couldn't tie
Sam Parker yanny*
Que A But there may be a 3-way tie which no good solution has been found
1:42 For the 1st time, in 36 seasons of Survivor, we have a tie…….here’s what happens in a tie, the person who’s not tied, Laurel, you become the 11th and final member of our jury, and you will cast the deciding vote
what would the tiebreaker be in a 4-4-2 final vote?
only the 3rd place final3 person makes deciding vote?
do the 2 jury members who voted for 3rd place person also revote?
Dom is officially the best runner up ever. Has to return soon
Dom's reaction when Jeff was reading the votes was hilarious.
It’s like Wendell walks up to Jeff and says, I’m playing this idol for Dominique.
Ah....Borneo style.
Lmao at Angela's calm face during this entire tribal
1:33 Dom knew he lost
It was very simple; Dom and Wendell were equal best players. Wendell just had added one more last winning step in giving his immunity necklace to Laurel . Dom should have the gut to challenge Wendell for the fire challenge, instead of delegating his million dollars to Angela.... to make the final decision for him. Overconfidence was Dom fatal mistake.
Swind Pendulum or a simpler idea, blindsided Wendell earlier....
showbizroxs yep. Absolutely. I / many / saw that immediately.. he knew that the Buddies would stick together no matter the facts are how the game was played by either one
That look on Dominic's face when he realized he just lost
what a finale! DAMN!
Whoa Donald Glover played survivor?? :00
Laurel's thinking "None of you all voted for me? Screw you, now none of your votes count, and only mine will matter."
Laurel stayed on-code, unlike Liana & Shan. 🔥
Jeff is so savage!!! "Alright, I'm going to read the votes!"
My first reaction about jeff reading the votes on site was “they cant afford a live reunion anymore?”
this comment aged well
Is there a link to download the music from this video’s tribal council?
Once he started reading the votes, I knew it was a tie because they wouldn't let the tiebreaker vote go home and watch the season. What I didn't know was that there was an even number of people on the Jury so I thought Donathan voted for Laurel and he would have been the deciding factor. But once he said Laurel was the vote, I knew it was over for Dom. Too bad.
Stone Roller dom got robbed
Unlocking Apple know he didn't Wendell deserved it
pesston wuz honestly Wendell did deserve he was great but you can’t honestly say that his game was better than doms
Unlocking Apple wendells game was the winning game. No other game that season can be better on that basis.
At the risk of this sounding awkward, we knew she was going to vote for her buddy Wendell
dude if it were me in her situation i would've immediately been like "anybody wanna buy my vote?" lmao
This was completely nuts. Never seen before.
I love Wendel, but still, Dom's game was way better, he deserved the victory more.
Awesome ending. Didn't see that coming!
Survivor made History!
I feel like Jeff should have at least given both Domenick and Wendell a chance to plead their case to Laurel.
I hate this when players take a move personally like Sebastian Dominic did what was best for his game
1montrealfan that’s the name of the game bro you don’t just shit on people on their way out. Wendell was smart enough to do him a favor (picking him for the reward) when he sent sea bass packing. Wendell deserved all of those votes imo
Jury management
I figured a tie would happen soon
I feel like I was the only one that actually enjoyed this season. I LIKED the ghost island twist, I think the cast is really underrated - not the best but not bad, I think the amount of advantages and idols is cool and adds more twists and blindsides. I don't really know what everyone's problem w idols and advantages is, so if someone is willing to have a non heated civil conversation about whether idols and advantages are good or bad in the replies then I'm open
wendell is (imo) the best recent winner besides tony jeremy and natalie like he killed it!
shukri nur Jeremy Collins was wonderful in second chance, he may be my all time favorite winner. and yes Tony was a boss and regulated his season
GRIZZ xXWGXx omg I totally forgot Jeremy you’re right I love him too!
Sarah Lacina was awesome too
Gv Athvaidh I hated her jsjdjkf but game wise she was great
shukri nur same, I hated the final 4 in gamechangers
That was a truly million dollar vote
I love how iconic this is but I think laurel should've joined the jury and they'd all have to revote, that way it's not solely placed on her conscience for writing a million-dollar check if no one changes their vote in the revote
does anyone know where you can watch the live reunion? My DVR didnt record the whole ending and I can't find it anywhere :(
for what it's worth, we got a nice throwback to Borneo with this
Anyone knows what's the rule if it's a final 2 and a tie happens? I know usually in final 2 the jury is an odd number, but Micronesia had an 8 member jury and final 2
I wish Jeff would have given her a chance for a final tribal question then since she was in essence, part of the jury
2:01 it’s crazy cus as soon as Jeff says that Laurel will decide who wins the million dollars you can see on Wendell and Dom’s face they know who’s gonna win
If it goes to a tie, it really shouldn't be decided by the 3rd person. Should go to fire making.
0:23 gives me chills... EVERY TIME!!!
The game is the game and you have to respect the rules but Dominic getting his biggest rival of the game to give him a vote would make him a worthy winner here as well
I wanted Dom to win....I think it was unfair..... It was obvious who she was going to vote for....😒😒😒
Jonathan Hernandez how is it unfair
I didn’t know that Childish Gambino played Survivor.
2:17 If you look at Dom's face, you can tell he knows that he's lost.
2:01 Dominic's face "fuck I lost"
