This is why i like old style Broodwar. You get crazy matches like this. Mass BC, Wraiths, and Goliaths, lockdowns and yammato guns and nukes. You don't see that stuff in the modern play style anymore. I mean i still enjoy modern games as well, but they have become kind of standardized and repetitive. We hardly ever get insanities like this one :))
Oh, the memories. Not sure where I first saw this game (~22 years ago) but it is legendary. "pimpest replays" lol I remember back in 2000 my friend's family let us spray paint his room however we wanted. So at the stairs to the entrance, we tagged it "Pimp Zone" We then proceeded to tag the wall with kids skating and doing illicit stuff that 17-year-olds would find cool. They only thing they had us cover up was the "pimp zone" lol
Getting to see that Lockdown vs. BC battle was like traveling back in time, I could hear the Hans Zimmer in my head. It's really hard to overstate how iconic and memorable those videos were
A few things I really liked about this match (spoiler gap): ... At 33:51, you can see Boxer and Zodiac missile turrets living in harmony. Peace in our time! Until not. And at 42:00, !!! This is the potential all your viewers see in ghosts, and why we keep wondering why they're not used more often. The ghosts with lockdown here are the key to this engagement (and a few later ones, too) - and they're SO EFFECTIVE!
I miss these kinds of matches, stuff was a lot more wild back then with Wraith counter assaults vs Battlecruisers and mass ghost. stuff you rarely see nowadays.
If we are on topic of old replays. There was amazing Xellos game on Lost Temple where Xellos almost lost for all the game duration but pull out comeback after comeback. Maybe someone have it and can share it for cast. Also some great replay that I lost...
Blizzard disappeared years back for a while, and eventually a guy came around claiming to be him, but he looked and sounded kinda different... but nobody in town knew what to do, so we just sorta went along with it, after a while
It is hard to get used to watching the older replays with the casting limitations you have in this client, but o worth it for the replays with character like this
On the topic of stealing add-ons it's never happened for me in SC1. Ever. I have done a mass lockdown/nuke on mass carriers but I have never, ever taken an enemy terrans add-ons.
Yeah!! a tvt 🎉🎉

@@alexg22222 Agreed!
Yeah the old games are way more entertaining in general. That's the downside of competitive play in anything though, it's always gonna end up min/max.
TvT still offer surprise BC/wraith play, it's just the power of vultures that have been discovered since.

Well said
Legendary map T vs T. We played a lot on it during 2004-2006
That feeling when we're watching a competitive match that's older than A LOT of professional players in esports today.

Honestly the coolest TvT I may have ever seen lol
That was a great game. It's really great to see how the game used to be played. ❤
Why is it that after all these years I still prefer brood war over anything new

Yeah, super fun match.
I love the microwave 😂 should have a hot pocket in it tho
@43:15 it wasn't a lost engagement. It was a stretegic withdrawal and redeployment. LOL

Boxer the only player that I’ve seen use lockdown and nukes. He definitely the emperor!
Back in the days when we had all the time in the world!
22:50 ghosts: finally we can be useful
i remember this replay it was between slayers boxer vs the marine
the dream of the 90s is alive.
oldschool broodwar, like it
Falcon, only you can pick up the torch and make the pimpest plays of 2024 video.
the current client of the game needs to include the legacy code to watch ancient replays. blizzard been drunk at the wheel for too long lmao

I SEE SLAYER. I LIKE THE VIDEO
Biggest Temple fan ever. I don't even care if the map is considered unbalanced by today's standards.. overcome the odds n00b!
Boxers is goat! He also has a UA-cam channel and posts!
I must have missed something. What's with the microwave 😂
Its to hide the replay timer, since I assume he cant normally hide it like he usually does with a modern replay casting
Yeah, as xanlos said, can't hide the replay timer in the OG BW client.
Gotcha. Thanks.
Hey! There's a microwave on the screen! Cool!
So cool! Reminds you of work!
avoid the danger, become a chef
I miss Lost Temple. And Challenger . Call my favorite was bloodbath
21:00 if BCs score enough kills they will summon Nathanius
I hope ol' Maynard is doing well these days
Me, too! Liquipedia says he still plays! liquipedia.net/starcraft/Maynard
Pimpest replays? How do we reach so many young impressionable minds with such inappropriate references?
in 2002 i was in high school....
Me and Falcon graduated in 2002! 😁😁😁
2000 here, but close! :D
@@FalconPaladin 1983 generation! 😁
Loooooooooockdown!!! ❤❤❤❤
Крутая катка
PPs bring me back. I remember watching them on my Windows 98 in middle school. Took like 10 minutes to download each one on dial up lol.
The best of times! :D
A bit offtop: do you have any games of arbiters in PvP or PvZ?
yeeeeaa ancient games
A protracteed trech warfarre TvT.
Nice.

BOXERRR
I miss LT
lockdown machine gun
If you get those replays back you should re-host them, or give them to someone who can.
Good idea!
Was there a name change??
