  • Robbie takes us to his biggest discovery yet, the giant sinkhole, Yab Yum. This massive underground pit features a stunning array of stalagmites, stalactites, and other geological wonders. Guillermo and fellow archaeologist Dante Garcia join the dive crew to survey the bottom of the cave. Once there, they find an array of bear remains from the Ice Age.
Shot 100% on the HERO4® camera from ‪GoPro.com.

Cave diving is absolutely terrifying, not only is it highly claustrophobic but very easy to get turned around and stuck leading to your death. These dudes are frikin awesome, great video.

Imagine coming across what looks like a puddle in the middle of the jungle, jumping in and realizing you can’t touch the bottom, and finding another world below. This is the closest thing to a figment of my childhood imagination I’ve ever seen. The simple things like a ladder leading down to a small pool of water is straight out of a fantasy novel. What an amazing world we live in, with some very amazing people who possess an unbridled drive to go beyond what most of us could possibly dream of. They must feel like a small club who has a secret (which they are), and I could see how something like this could come to define one’s existence. It has to be a very powerful force. Thank you for this wonderful access and for doing what you do.

I wish i could put how i feel about this video series into the appropriate words... I'm a filmmaker in a small town of Montana, and up until now I thought the hidden places I've witnessed that a single digit number of people including myself have seen with our own eyes was something that could not be topped, the feeling of knowing that I've found something so spectacular is incredible even on the minor scale of my findings compared to this, I can relate to what these archaeologists, divers, and overall the people and their opinions that I saw here can only be described as the true definition of an extraordinaire. I cannot thank everyone that was involved in this enough for it has inspired me and I'm certain every other viewer immensely! Keep up the good work guys, if I dare say, if I see any opportunity to pursue a way to one day witness this for myself with the goal of aiding in the preservation and education that comes out of these findings, it was you that made it happen. Well done!

I live 7 years in Cancun and I try to go anywhere to know more about the history. Cozumel, Tulum, Coba, Chichén Itza, Riviera Maya, Playa del Carmen, Isla Mujeres and obviously Yucatán and always i learn something new, I love the people, the food, everything.. The are a lot cenotes... named "ruta de los cenotes" the Mayas used for sacrifices on the name of his gods "god of water, sun, earth and more" It's amazing. I hope keeping like protected areas and be safe because believe are not some places the are unique and protected by "alux" so be safe.

So amazing, I'm absolutely fascinated by what could be down there. The floor of that cave is likely covered by fallen rocks and there might need to be some careful excavation work done to get to the true cave floor to see what may be there. Those bears didn't climb down from the top of the sky-lit ceiling, they walked in from a cave entrance, some 15k odd years ago. So enthralling...
