I think you have restricted brake hoses! Because they are not breathing right! They get super thick inside! That’s why you needed to bleed from top!

If you're like me and have to do brakes by yourself-every-single-time there is a one man bleeder kit you can get at any parts store. They're usually $8. Just a nipple to insert into the bleeder, a hose that connects it to a small bottle. Plug in, crack bleeder, pump pedal, check hose to bottle, if the hose has no air bubbles then close the bleeder and move to next wheel is correct order from the master cylinder. 👍I saw a car video I had to stop by to watch and leave a like!

I hate those kits: bottle is too small, and the plastic doodad is near worthless: just use clear hose stabbed over bleeder. The trick is... route hose/hang above bleeder and length needs to be roughly equal [no siphoning]. Any catch can can work - I use a crappy old plastic bowl. Smooth & slow on/off the pedal and because tube is above bleeder, air naturally rises to escape and there's a column of fluid if there's any drawback into the system.

I wasted my whole Saturday trying to bleed my rear brake of my motorcycle. I even got master and slave cylinder rebuild kits and a vacuum bleeder kit because I couldnt get it to bleed. I watched the video when it got dark and tried it on my bike and it worked instantly. Thank you so much for posting this video. I just wished I saw it sooner so I didnt waste half my weekend

Perfect explanation of procedure, you would think the air is released when they're bled. Looks like an airlock situation in the abs system. Had same problem with my camry but was only 1 rear brake. I use a 2x4 to put against seat and brake pedal to keep pressure while bleeding , thankyou for the know how to video

I am confused. It looked like you loosened one of the two ports connected to the master cylinder, for the drivers side caliper. However when you did the passenger side caliper you loosened a nut on the actual and where the brake lines are connected to?
I’ve watched this video a few times and I keep seeing the same thing. Can you explain what I’m missing

Thanks for watching, the only thing we could really think that would be respectively related is a stuck inner cylinder inside master brake cylinder.
If the inner cylinder gets stuck in the closed position, brake fluid will never flow. How is your project going?

Not sure if you’ll see this but currently going through this issue somewhat similar. Changed front calipers along with the brakes and rotors only the fronts. Bled the system over 3 times nothing working pedal still squishy. Have used vacuum bleeders and have used assisted help in the driver seat pressing the brake. Don’t know what’s going on no bubbles are coming out just clear brake fluid like it should be. Wondering if it could be my master cylinder needing a bleed or replacement or possibly even to bled the abs with a scan tool. Any help would be awesome

Good morning ☕️ thank you for writing us, any update. We hope to help.
The Master Cylinder may be the cause however unlikely. It may be that your Master Cylinder inner piston is just stuck and not allowing you to properly bleed system.
We are going to share a few additional helpful video links below that include common causes as well as a video showing a closeup of the Master Cylinder inner piston.
      ua-cam.com/video/wEZIpdjfXfc/v-deo.htmlsi=3zEFu18xdIzg_BRG

      ua-cam.com/video/FuB1BAdgNpE/v-deo.htmlsi=Sa5MvNQx5dhhWtpi
It may be that you just need to slightly loosen one of the fittings on the Master Cylinder until you see a tiny bit of brake fluid to seep out. Once this happens, it’s likely that the inner piston will break free and begin operating as designed again. Keep us posted.

    • @DIYwithMichaelBorders
      @DIYwithMichaelBorders  Рік тому +1

Thanks for watching, great question. We tightened nuts after bleeding brakes. Is your bleeder port on top of caliper? If not, it’s likely the shop sold you the wrong side caliper for your left hub.

We loosened up fitting until brake fluid began dripping out followed by 2-3 very slow gentle presses of the pedal. After that, the master cylinder shifted to a point that allowed the system to return to it’s normal configuration.

I was traveling on a highway when I heard a scratching noise. When I pressed on the brakes, I heard a pop and my pedal went to the floor. I forced the brakes and the truck slowly stopped. Long story short, I was escorted home and saw that the caliper piston was fully extended and leaking. I was missing a brake pad.
I removed the caliper, purchased a new rotor and caliper, and replaced both with new brake pads.
I bled the front brakes and I let them bleed until there was no more air bubbles. I bled the back brakes but they only bled for a few seconds then fully stopped.
I started pressing on the pedal and it’s hard when the engine is off, but fully loose when the engine is on.
I bled each brake again and the back ones have no bleed.
Do I have a bad master cylinder or what could it be?

Thanks for watching and sharing your experience, we are glad to hear you’re OK and I made it home safely. A special thanks and 👍👍 to your escort.
The inner piston inside your master cylinder might be stuck in a position that is not allowing the system to be properly bled.
You may need to ever so slightly loosen up one of the brake fittings on the master cylinder (preferably the one on the right if you are standing outside of the car looking into the engine compartment near the driver side front tire).
This will allow the pressure to release and the inner piston to shift back into its normal flow of operation… ultimately allowing the system to properly bleed. Keep us posted. 🧰

@@DIYwithMichaelBorders hello, well the car sat for a long time, the back passenger caliper was blocked pushing on the disc, so we've rebuild it. We will try to rebuild the master cylinder and to find the proportionning valve (do all cars have one?). For now the car seems to only brake on the front. But what I don't understand is that all the videos I've checked, people doesn't have any liquid dropping when they have this problem, and us we have liquid dropping by gravity, but when we pump the pedal to flush the back break the liquid doesnt travel up our plastic tube... I don't have a clue what is happening...
