there were moments here when all I could do was close my eyes. there's so much feeling in this performance, that watching and listening at the same time almost feels like a sacrilegy
I thought that was a PRS. I'm ignorant about electric guitars. You guys can help teach me. I guess this was shortly before he switched to PRS. I've heard lots of people criticize PRS guitars, but Carlos sure gets great tone and sound out of his.

I have that guitar - I mean the actual guitar - it was given to a friend of mine in the mid '90s by Carlos himself (he'd moved onto PRS at that stage). I'm actually thinking of selling it...

@@bgauthier to be honest I have no idea, but it’s not complete at the moment. I think Carlos was using it as his hotel guitar, and so disabled the tremelo. I’m trying to find the parts now to get it working again. Intact it would be worth us $2,000 if it wasn’t a Carlos Santana guitar…
***** PRS American models are hand made to exacting specifications, guaranteed against faulty workmanship for life. $3000-5000 is about the same compared to some PRS models like Custom 24 this model with higher specs can go to $9000+ but there are more models like Santana etc at $10,000-20000 or more depending on specs. I personally, like Carlos prefer PRS for tone and design, they are very beautiful works of art. But PRS do manufacture much cheaper SE models in the far East, they are in no way comparable to the US made ones but are very good value for students.I think its these you are referring too? What is the Yamaha model in question? I think Carlos was playing this one in Japan as respect for Yamaha who do make high quality instruments of all types.
Yeah, I think the version from Dance of the Rainbow Serpent is much better. Much more finesse, better tone. Live version is not bad though, it's just different.
This record !!!!
Mann that guitar speaks to the soul
Santana says all the right words without saying anything!

Real music
I’m so thankful
So powerful the way he plays that guitar moves through my soul...

@@PeterMillward No way! That's awesome! How much do you think you could get for it?

Sadly not as special as the original studio version, but I guess that was a one-off and impossible to replicate.
