Eating Gyros with a knife and fork should be a punishable offense.
HAHAHAHAHA
I'm Greek and I know what you are talking about but I love eating gyro like that. Then I fold the pita and eat it in the end mmm I'm a huge minority tho lol
Gyros are uaually overstuffed in my opinion. Not like a shawarma wrap that is more elegantly put together. Which is why I start out eating a gyro with a fork and then fold the pita and eat it with hands.

I’m not Greek, but I grew up eating Greek food due to living in LA where Greek restaurants are quite common. I feel disgusted how they’re using fork and knife on gyro and baclava
But those gyros are made with such tiny breads.
Irish people seem to have some wierd thing about eating with their hands... dunno what it is.
Same thing with New Yorkers seeing pizza being eaten with a knife and fork.
Europeans, especially on the Continent, are dedicated to the cutlery. As an american that lived in Europe I am convinced that its a snob thing.

This is not a real stifado guys! Come on, Stifado is only with onions and meat
Small onions , meat and lot of red sauce made from fresh tomatoes and tomato juice. And stifado is not served with rice that has peas or corn and carrot.
@@sophie.at_ yes, that's what I am saying
Yes and usually is made with rabbit meat
Rabbit stifado is the best version of stifado, but almost any meat can be used in stifado as long as it can withstand the long cooking time or if the cook can compensate for that.

so they could eat it with a FORK and KNIFE! you saw what they did to the gyro and the baclava! Galaktoboureko is too good for them!
I second this. I had it the first time ever about 3 years ago at a farmers market and it was soooooo good. My Greek go to dessert
We had Greek friends growing up and I remember helping my mom and her daughters make this plus those fried donuts you dip in honey.
Galaktoboureko is a Greek dessert, baklavas is not 😅
This is really funny because I’m half Greek (my moms Greek and I’ve been to Greece so many times) and half Irish (my dad’s from Ireland) so I know all of these foods. It’s funny because I get to see there perspectives!! 🤣🤣

@Jeff, the God of Biscuits That was not one of them.
@Jeff, the God of Biscuits Well, that wasn't feta at the very least. One of them was spreading the cheese on his fork. Unless it was blasted in a microwave or something, that was not feta. And if it was blasted in the microwave it no longer tasted like feta. So, same result :P

Watching this here in Greece, we were all agog at people eating gyros with a knife and fork! Usually they’re wrapped tightly in waxed paper and you gradually unpeel the paper as you hold it and eat. Gyros are the go-to fast food everywhere here which is why American style fast food places like McDonald’s have never caught on and the few branches that exist are mainly for tourists. Try ‘Thanasis’ or ‘Savvas’ near Monastiraki Square in the old district of central Athens for good souvlaki and gyros

Traditional Greek cuisine. What foreigners think it's like: gyros, moussaka and other 20th century introductions from 3rd countries.. What it really is like: LOTS of Pasta (hillopites, makarounes, goglies pastitsio), suasages (loukaniko), lamb guts (gardoumba kokoretsi splinantero), bean soup (fasolada) cod meat (Bakalaos), pork rottiserie etc
"cinnamon, walnuts, and honey, all things i hate".... wtf? who hurt this man? 😂😂
Cinnamon is my all time favorite spice. Everytime he says he hates cinnamon, I cringe. Sorry about your palate, Brian.
@@anrach579 I can understand someone not liking cinnamon. It is a strong spice. And I'm not a fan of walnuts or pecans ( though I'll eat them without too much bother ). But not liking butter pastry and honey? I didn't think that was possible.
Brian was such a big baby with the Bakalava. I mean really, Spitting it out!! Talk about an unevolved palete.
Baklava is sickly sweet though especially if one has never had it or knows how it is made.
He has to be a super taster. He doesn’t like anything, but really bland food. Then, he’s in heaven.
(No idea if we’re doing this right) a shop near us (Washington state) has amazing gyros every Thursday and I feel attacked the way they’re eating the gyros in the video! 🤣 also when I was living in Michigan, there was a store that we specifically went to for their baklava! I miss that place and it’s been a whole 9+ years!
But that being said, happy St. Paddy’s day!! 😍☺️ 🍀
Everything looked so good!!!
"I need a gyro." That's a solid pun.
The singing was so cute too!
For sure!! It took me a second to get what she said exactly then it was in my head all video.
It also works if you’re unemployed in the 80s and pronounce it like it’s spelled.
....old British people will understand.
Or if you drop it: "There goes my gyro.. watch it as it falls." (sing to the tune of Foo Fighters "My Hero")
Arby's did it in a commercial
Actually that "stifado" is really a "giouvetsi". Stifado is more like a soup with whole onions in it
more like "kokkinisto"
Ναι ρε φίλε
i think they just mean the way the beef was cooked although the original would be beef kokkinisto with pilafi/ risotto
Ε, όχι και σούπα το στιφάδο 😂
Not a soup, more of a stew.
Ciara wearing a Captain Jack shirt fills me with so much joy.
I hope the channel sends them on a vacation to Greece!
Back some years ago, when i was in highschool, i would stop for lunch at this little Mediterranean market down the street. All the other kids with their taco bell and mcdonalds would give me weird looks as i devoured my spinach pies (spanakopita) and baklava.
Dont know what they were missing!
As many other Greek fellows have already mentioned, it's such a Sin to eat gyro with 🍴!
In our culture it's our most representative comfort food, and all of its deliciousness is based on savouring it by your hands.
Also you forgot one other well known Greek traditional dish: mousaka and pastichio, a recipy similar to Italian lazania,
@Fred Payne Indeed...It's so delicious! Because with pasta and meat -its basic ingredients - you can't go wrong.
@Fred Payne Great! Food from different countries around the world, is always an adventure & an experience of learning another culture.
The lazania you tasted in Caracas yes, is a traditional Italian dish.
But pastichio is a little bit different: imagine classic spaghetti - not thin, more Iike a tube in shape -,with a beefy meat sauce above them cooked with tomatoes, onions & spices ,and on the top a creamy-velvety layer made of milk, butter, corn flower and cheese...
A paradise in taste!
@Fred Payne😉 Well it's a little bit difficult to find pastichio & to be tasty, because its not a popular fast food dish you can have almost everywhere, like gyro.
In a greek traditional house or in small cookshops in Athens, you could definitely find & savour it!
@Fred Payne Ok I will search for a good recipe and I'll copy paste it here, if that helps!
I've seen people get asked to leave where they're eating. I've been in Athens with my wife ( shes greek) and 1 thing I've learned is greeks take food. Singing and dancing VERY seriously and greeks dont take insults very well. Eating a gyro with utensils is VERY insulting.
I'm not Greek but I lowkey got mad when they ate the Gyros with a fork and knife lol but to each their own as long as they enjoy it!
If you got insulted seeing them eating gyro like this, I consider you as a greek fam, my friend.
I'm greek and I can say I used to eat gyros like that cause I couldn't hold it when I was like 4 but seeing them eat it with a fork and a knife almost in their 30s literal stupidity
And you might have greek roots if that triggers as much as me
OK, so first video watched of this group of people... I love all of them. Subscribed!
Ciara, in that shirt, I mean c’mon... (chef’s kiss). And while I love drunk Clisare & grumpy/unhappy Clisare (so entertaining) it’s great to see truly happy Clisare.
Agree 😊
BANG! BANG!
Clisare is always grumpy! I feel sorry for her husband.
I'm curious if she is even familiar with Cactus Jack, or has seen any of his work in Japan or his early US career...because I feel like she would get a kick out of just how tough of an SOB he is...
Irish people try Greek food, right there......in Dublin Ireland.
Literally everyone when they hear the word Greece:OPA, MALAKA, GYRO
Τι κατσανε την βαρκα
But its true, we even say these words in the same sentence tsakalako mou
Everyone is a Μalaka. Lmao
😂😂😂😂😂
Κλαμα...
THE WAY THEY ATE THESE AND THE PRONUNCIATION 😟😐😐🥱
Must say, I've never had a Baklava that tastes too cinnamony, it's always a very subtle flavour at best
“Rice good, meat good, peas good, corn good... carrots? I’ll eat them.” 🤣😂 Clisare is a legend!
Can give a shout out to the General aka Ciara for rocking a Cactus Jack t-shirt
BANG BANG!
I just noticed it.. Ms folys baby boy
Just when you think she can't possibly get ANY better, she's rocking a Cactus Jack t-shirt. I love this woman.
@@GrizzinCorp She the General 🤟
She's even got the "Wanted: Dead" shirt instead of the more common "Dead or Alive". Love that woman.
Its so funny seeing the video and i remember when i was young and i traveled my first time out of Greece to Ireland. :)
Yum!! I love Greek Food. We have all kinds of food from all over the world in Toronto. I love souvlaki and those Greek potatoes with rice and salad. I'm so hungry. When this covid thing is over I'm going to the Danforth.
