I love how I'm spite of struggle and hardship they still found a way to adopt these babies and love and raise beautiful people into the world to do the same, love unconditionally.
I've great respect and admiration who adopt Chinese girls because in Indian customs, to marry off a daughter needs a lot of money but these adoptive parents don't see them as a burden. In the past, if these girls had not been given away to Indian families, they might have been sold into the brothels.
I had a colleague who had a tertiary education and was a professional and had married a good husband. She was an adopted child and she had always bitterly complained, "Why me?" (why her biological parents had given her away among all siblings). If I were close to her, I would have told her that she should be very grateful to her biological parents who had chosen to give her away. They were poor peasants and had many children. If she had not been given her adoptive parents who were rich, she would have not gotten a chance to go to school. She would have married a peasant and had many kids. I am not a Christian but I would have told her that she "would not have know God but would be worshipping idols". She was always complaining about everything, always frowning and grumbling.

50 years back life was really harsh for everybody. There was a huge poverty where every parent cannot even had enough to feed themselves let alone their own children. It was the time when uneducated parents does not have any approach of any family planning would give away their newborn to adoption. Those are bad times....really bad
the same goes for the Indian families (they too were either poor or very poor) who adopted all the FEMALE chinese children dumped by the chinese family. Pls, do not use lame excuses here.
Singapore is it’s own melting pot of cultures, must be a lovely place to visit since you get to experience all of them in one place. She seems like a happy person, good for her 💕
of course she speaks fluent Tamil. She was adopted by Indian parents as an infant. and being an infant n then growing up only to hear Tamil being spoken to her, the fluency is as natural as any Tamil born infant, only that this woman was born Chinese, but was never exposed to any Chinese environment or daily Chinese speech.

I think a forgotten chapter in history are the chinese children given to malay families to be raised, esp in malaysia where it is quite common. Singapore Indians are very friendly. Me and my landlady and her old husband (in a wheelchair) were out in Novena and no taxi driver wanted to take us because of the wheelchair issue... the only one that stopped was an Indian taxi who not only helped get the elder man into the taxi but also out and lifted him onto his wheelchair again... i was so touched by his kindness, still to this day
Indians in general are very friendly towards others no matter the nation they live in.

Such a beautiful and kind hearted lady.God bless her and may God bless her parents' souls.
I love how I'm spite of struggle and hardship they still found a way to adopt these babies and love and raise beautiful people into the world to do the same, love unconditionally.
This is what humanity is all about 😍
I've great respect and admiration who adopt Chinese girls because in Indian customs, to marry off a daughter needs a lot of money but these adoptive parents don't see them as a burden.
Wooyan Wooyan there's people out there that no matter it is can only see and focus on the negative.
China is as bad. China has a shortage of females because of abortion of female fetuses. And Christianity is much worse than Dharmic religions.

Hello , are you still there ?
She doesn’t look Tamil but she could easily pass as being from the Himalayas. She just seems so Indian to me as an outsider. I’m adopted too and also happy with it, although I’m sad to have lost the language I would otherwise have had. Anyway, great story!
This is the true Singapore. She represents whatever good Singapore stands for.

But the guy is in Malaysia.
She was so beautiful when she was young. She still is beautiful!
That’s incredible! I’ve never heard of anything like this before. Her Tamil is perfect!
It’s amazing to see this kind of acceptance among south Indians; it’s not as common as it should be.
My Grandmother is chinese too.. I really missed her alot 😭 RIP paatima
I'm so sorry for your loss 😢🙏
beautiful story!!!
My mom is the exact same as this lady. I feel extremely connected to her story
So true , but I Thank God every day.... I I pulled just a little more out of me to see my parents through another illness.
Singapore is it’s own melting pot of cultures, must be a lovely place to visit since you get to experience all of them in one place. She seems like a happy person, good for her 💕
She speaks better Tamil than many in Taminadu
Its true 👌
Hahaaha that's not bro....no one can converse fluently more than native speakers....❤❤❤
@@superman-q6p3m She is proving it by speaking clean and chaste Tamil!
of course she speaks fluent Tamil. She was adopted by Indian parents as an infant. and being an infant n then growing up only to hear Tamil being spoken to her, the fluency is as natural as any Tamil born infant, only that this woman was born Chinese, but was never exposed to any Chinese environment or daily Chinese speech.
Inspired story.. it doesn't matter where we come from but who we r...
At the end of the day we are all humans and i wish we could be a big happy family.
I cried through the entirely of this because I could feel the honestly and love radiating from this woman. The world could learn alot from her and from Singapore.

I think a forgotten chapter in history are the chinese children given to malay families to be raised, esp in malaysia where it is quite common. There are many malays today who have chinese lineage from a parent who was adopted or at least know someone who does. Unfortunately most of those adopted no longer hv contact with their biological families.
Alya Hamzah But why did chinese parents rejected their children?
Abhishek Tanwar usually they want a boy so can bring the surename they adore men much
Alya Hamzah my cousin brother married to a chinese who was adopted by a datuk.fmly. she was tout all abt d malay traditional culinary conundrums. academically she didnt shine but her culinary skills brout her to germany, uk as a chef at the msian embassy......
asked why she was given up for adoption, her foster mother said that she was a 'soi loi'....unlucky child. so she was given up. and she sd that it was a priceless gift that she was adopted by d datuk fmly.......
We don't have contact with our Afircan ancestors either. Its not a big deal.
Silver Bells I bet the biological parents would be salty if they found out how fortunate she is.
That's a lovely story...your Indian parents loved you, so you are happy and content with yourself. You are very lucky to have lived a good life
I am really blessed to be a part of such a beautiful culture and religion..love and respect to everyone 🕉️🚩🙏
Race is a social construct not a biological one. SHE IS A TAMIL LADY and INDIAN. She said so herself. The title should say "born Chinese AND raised by Indian Parents"
Han and Tamil are ethnolinguistic groups. We should stop using the term "race" and adopt the term "ethnolinguistic group" as it is more proper. Sure, it's a mouthful but yeah...
Jesus why tf are you guys so sensitive ?

When the lady says Tamil, whoever did the subtitles, wrote 'Indian' . indian is not a race. Indian is a nationality. india has many ethnic groups living in many states divided by language/ethnic group. A Tamil couple raised her.

Why do they translate when she says "Tamil" as "Indian"? She's clearly saying "Tamil"
Cause the Singaporean government sees people as four groups/ethnicities for official purposes.

Researches still going on to explore the Tamil Civilization which was ruling the entire world. In Tamil Nadu, you can witness Iots of Temples and monuments built with carved stones by our ancestors reveals how intelligents they are.

Mistranslation: she said she was adopted by Tamilian Family, she didn’t say indian family.. not that it matters but that’s the correct translation.
And then she said to the tamilian shopkeeper that she's an Indian but they all laughed, but it doesn't matter since she's an Indian whole heartedly 💓
Outside India: south, east, west or north they call all of them as Indians, not Tamilians, kerealities, Kannadiga or Punjabi's.
Hemanth Raju I know. I was just translating what she said- she said “Thamizh makkal” which translates to Tamilians. Just in case anyone wanted to know exact trans because I understand the language. But in an international context it doesn’t matter, indian is fine.

I realised how little people know about Singapore and Malaysia. They’re not Indians from India, they’re not Chinese from China - they’re Singaporean/Malaysian. We’ve been here for hundreds of years and we’re not related to the current countries where we our ancestors originated. Stop assuming stuff and projecting it onto us when you don’t know shit.
