      Mew Tje happiness is overrated and selfish. Making progress for humanity is the ultimate goal, which requires sacrifice. I hate it when people say everyone should strive to be happy. Raping makes a rapist happy should strive foe that?

    In SINGAPORE, a lot of Chinese were adopted by Indian families during Japanese war time (1942-1945).
    My grandmother is also a Chinese but was adopted by Indian family. She can't speak Mandarin, but speaks fluent Tamil. Its very common here in Singapore. Anyway i am truly happy for this granny also. She resembles my grandmother! Most importantly she mentioned that she is very happy and that's what everyone wish for. God bless Singapore!

      John Ferguson not true, in many minor villages in places such as Haryana it is seen but its not very common. So thats why when even one case is reported, it creates an uproar. If you look at history, only Hinduism gives value to females and even pray to female Gods while in every other religion, God is depicted as male. They say when a girl child is born, Goddess Laxmi has come (translates to luck and wealth, happiness). I remember my Indian friend whose Dad used to say she was their lucky star, she’s a doctor now.

    I've great respect and admiration who adopt Chinese girls because in Indian customs, to marry off a daughter needs a lot of money but these adoptive parents don't see them as a burden. In the past, if these girls had not been given away to Indian families, they might have been sold into the brothels.

    • @wooyanwooyan460
      @wooyanwooyan460 7 років тому +12

      I had a colleague who had a tertiary education and was a professional and had married a good husband. She was an adopted child and she had always bitterly complained, "Why me?" (why her biological parents had given her away among all siblings). If I were close to her, I would have told her that she should be very grateful to her biological parents who had chosen to give her away. They were poor peasants and had many children. If she had not been given her adoptive parents who were rich, she would have not gotten a chance to go to school. She would have married a peasant and had many kids. I am not a Christian but I would have told her that she "would not have know God but would be worshipping idols". She was always complaining about everything, always frowning and grumbling.

      Hemanth Raju I know. I was just translating what she said- she said “Thamizh makkal” which translates to Tamilians. Just in case anyone wanted to know exact trans because I understand the language. But in an international context it doesn’t matter, indian is fine.

    My best friend is Chinese Hakka-Canadian and I am Indo-Canadian (we both live in Canada because we were born and raised in Canada). When I met her I knew she was oriental but then she told me that her parents were born and raised in Calcutta therefore she knows Hindi. And we both immediately connected because she had Indian morals that i seek in a friend. I am Canadian and Indian but I couldn’t connect with the Caucasian people in my area and she is just so relatable. Full respect for her.

      She never refers to herself as being brought up as a “Tamil” during most of her talk not Indian per se
      The translator for some unknown reason has translated as”Indian” every time she mentions “Tamil”

    I realised how little people know about Singapore and Malaysia. They’re not Indians from India, they’re not Chinese from China - they’re Singaporean/Malaysian. We’ve been here for hundreds of years and we’re not related to the current countries where we our ancestors originated. Stop assuming stuff and projecting it onto us when you don’t know shit.

      WELL SAID, NOT only here lah.. this northeast and north Indian even cyber bullying to Singaporean couples which was chinese & Tamil couples and they were racism towards that tamil girl because she was dark skinned and they assuming that Singaporean Chinese look like northeast Indian 😂 but the fact is northeast Indian ancestors are from china because they're bordering with china and they looks like chinese but they never accept the reality.. if someone call them Chinese they feel racism.. but malaysia /singapore is unique culture and they dont understand they're thinking china and india 😂😂 it's nothing to do with china and india aiyo this is malaysia and singapore cultureeeee
