This is brilliant, Holly! Every young parent should watch this as it is the perfect way to illustrate how influential experiences at a young age are! And it is also a plea for giving children good, if not professional art supplies! Well done, Holly's parents, your teacher, young Holly and - of course - to date Holly for highlighting this by making this video! 😍🥰🤗😘💛🧡❤
Old ripe fruits, although don't taste nearly as good, are much more enjoyable to paint. The spots and discoloration make for a much more enjoyable experience.
I actually love the way the banana is floating, I think it adds to the charm 😁 My parents have still got up a painting of some orange lilies I did when I was 10. I remember being so proud when the framed it and put it on the wall.
omg parents putting art on the wall, is like the first sign that you can be an artist. I also remember feeling so proud, even though mine wasn't half as good as 5 year old Holly. 😅
That is so cute, I used to have to burn them I used to take over the whole room with little paintings and drawings and things I made. I think must of it was burned or thrown in the bin.
Wow that is amazing for a young child's artwork. Your instructor must have been wonderful because I'm not sure anything I painted until my teenage years even had the concept of shading. My old art is like a solid flat red colored circle for an apple - maybe with a twig on top lol :D I love the texture on the new pear!
Sometimes when I watch these videos your paintings look finished to me about half way through - but then you keep going and I realise how wrong I was! I love how you paint 💛
Good job Holly, both pics are grand! Sometimes exercises like this can really help put your skill development into perspective. Good for people who feel like they’ve plateaud.
This video was so nice to watch, watching someone paint what feels like a hundred layers was kind of therapeutic. I would totally be interested in which colours/pigments you like and if you care about lightfastness or not, because you scan your work most times.
thank you, glad you enjoyed! I actually don't really have an opinion on the lightfastness factor. They scan well! I use windsor and newton cotham and professional tube watercolour
I like the loose style of the 5 year old paintings and of course your new ones are beautiful. Even than you were so talented and it continues today. That was great to see you painting. Thanks for sharing that with us Holly. Are you opening your esty shop again?
Omfg just started watching but ur painting at five is amazing - I love it!!! 😍❤
haha thank you!

Your 5y paintings are already awesome, there are elements about contrast, volume and light exposure, few kids can do this at 5 ;)
Ahhh! This is so beautiful! Thank you for sharing!
I'm doing my masters in painting and I can easily say that this painting is outstandingly succesful for a 5-year old child. I'm shocked

OMG! 5 years old drawing way better than my first drawing at 32

That's very sophisticated for a 5yr old....

When your five-year-old watercolor outpaces my 47-year-old painting.
😂

You were already gifted from 5 years old! Wonderful work 💜
This is such a cool idea! I would love to try recreating some old art. I love the piece you did when you were 5. 🥰
I love watching you painting. It's very relaxing and motivates me to get better at watercolour

This is such a great drawing exercise idea! And the drawing of your 5 year old self is so sweet! - thanks for sharing! 😊
There is no way you did that at 5 yrs old.. this is better than what I do now lol ❤
the painting you made when you were five is pretty impressive tbh!
Wow, that is a great talent for a 5 years old even with the help of a teacher, and the new painting is so vibrant and beautiful as all of your art.
thank you so much!
