A very nice demonstration! As a beginner, it’s very comforting to hear you say that you, a seasoned, talented artist, are nervous about trying something new!
Hi Harriet. I love that you followed the glazing technique video with this practical painting session. The result was wonderful. Love from New Zealand.❤
I rarely write anything, but I have to tell you how much I’m enjoying your tutorials. Thank you for sharing your talent. You’re a very encouraging instructor. ❤
Thank you for being brave enough to show the 2nd technique on the clementine. I love the beauty of the transparency of colors. It was truly magnificent!
Your best tutorial ever, in my opinion! A nice piece and taught me so much about this particular technique. Have to give it a go. I had only seen one video about glazing before and in that video the artist explained that glazing is handy when your color turns out to be too bright for your purpose. She used glazing to tone down the color underneath. Here you used glazing not to tone down but to have time and to let the colors shine through. So interesting!
I love using the glazing technique. It’s very useful when you’re a beginner too, when you can’t paint fast enough on your rapidly drying paper! Also, as you mention it gives you time. You don’t have to commit early on, just let it dry and go again. Thanks Harriet ❤
Wow what a difference. Thanks for trying this! You are so right about needing patience but it sure paid off. I love the glazing one and think the glazing technique you used does a really beautiful job of portraying the texture. 😢
It’s such a pleasure to hear your voice and learn something new! I have pre-ordered your book…so excited to get it, gifting myself! Thank you 🙏🏽🙋🏻♀️👍🏽Mia
I definitely see the difference in the two techniques although the 2nd takes much longer I do like it. I don’t think I will ever be fast enough to try the 1st one. Beautiful!
I hope you're enjoying the technique tutorials this week! Get the same art supplies that I use here! dewintonpaperco.etsy.com
Did this following you, but used salt between glazes to create dimples.Came out great!
Oh that's a great idea!

Thanks Harriet I really don't have the patience for that!! I can see the difference but prefer the first one oddly!! 😊
You’re welcome 😊
Beautiful but I don't think I have the patience to do the glazing technique! ❤
You can do it!
I have no orange. What are the best yellow and red to create a similar color to your oranges please?
You're going to have to play around with the colours you've got in your palette. It's great to experiment!
