Still play every single day. Love it as much as day 1. Still INSTANTLY getting into games and the variety of players (bad, decent and good)...says to me that this game isn't even close to dying.
XDefiant has really made a comeback. I’ve been on it consistently the past few weeks, and it has been just so much better. Playability improvements and all. I’m super excited for this roadmap, I agree - I wish there was more here in the beginning, but I’m patient and in no rush. I’ll keep playing it and enjoying it as things continue to roll out, a year from now I’ll be glad with all the gear I’ve picked up when this game is steamrolling. Thanks for the video Espresso! I'm glad you are getting that experience, keeps my hope alive. Logged on yesterday, had no issues getting a game but still had issues with shots registering. Died behind a wall a solid two seconds after full cover and I just shut it down again. Nothing new to the issues that I saw.
Definitely coming back when this drops. Love the game but the netcode/hit reg just needs to be better. Once that's fixed, this game will be so much fun
At this rate 4 months into the games life its reached extremely underrated territory. The player counts may have dropped, but what we have here is a game that is just going to keep getting better and better. And it will be a damn shame if it goes away in the near future :/

I suspect the game engine is slowing the devs down, which probably slowed development of content and feature down. I mean the game beta was 2023, and netcode / hit reg is still being addressed. Compared to black ops 6, which had net code issues, lag (sometimes hilarious rubber banding or cue Olympic torch theme as a player runs in slo mo), But black ops 6 Beta hit reg was like side splash from a dropped water ballon vs Xdef release hitreg was pineapple express torrential rain / swimming pools dumping / fire fighting aircraft dump drop / multiple fire hose in your face drowning that partridge in a pear tree.
Its a free to play game and not a $70 cod tho.....people really need to lower their expectations and remember to keep their patience and enjoy what we had in xdefiant.😊
Season 2 is just to keep us busy until season 3, season 3/4 is when we’ll see the actual release of xdefiant. Just think of xdefiant as a game preview sort of like palworld, yes it’s available for everyone to jump in and play but it still needs work and development for the “actual” full release and full experience
The fact prestige isn’t in season 2 is very worrying I honestly think the whole player base will be gone before season 3 even drops at this point sadly and I hate to say that because I love the game
I like the game but I feel like their downfall isn't that there isn't enough content like maps and gameplay elements, its more so there's not enough to DO in the game. Like all there is to do is level up guns, level up the battle pass and win games. That gets old really fast.
Guns and faction look good. Maps too, but 1 new map a month is weak. Should drop all 3 with 24/7 Playlist for all or a season 2 moshpit with only the new maps
Really having fun since BO6 beta with XDefiant. It's a fun game though different to CoD. Looking forward to S2. Looks like cool stuff. And hey no sbmm + crossplay off(PS5) is a big win. Only thing i can complain about is that there is still no XIM protection although it is a Ubisoft game and R6 has mousetrap

I remember getting banned from their ranked discussion discord channel for questioning their lack of a proper roadmap, if I remember correctly Bomb was on that and stated to come in Season 1. Guess I was right? Disappointed with how these devs promise so much and don't deliver.
If they want to compete with COD’s player base you need to give something more similar, but better. No SBMM is a fantastic idea, but if the game itself isn’t as smooth flowing (no fun movement f.e.) the attraction will disappear eventually. Combine that with VERY little stuff to grind for all you have left is just shooting. One thing I have to mention also is that COD is really fast paced. Look at maps like shipment, nuketown. By far the most popular maps. The maps in xdefiant are just too large to be entertaining. Some maps are good as medium sized maps though.
Right out the gate, they are going to need to nerf the hell out of the revving system for the new faction. Having that is going to make every single player in the game run only that faction and guns like the AK/Vector are going to absolutely destroy everything. Maybe turn down each med/high/max by like half. And/or increase the kill streak needed to reach med/high/max. Having it as 1/2/4 is way too quick/easy.
People are expecting Ubi, who have messed up their business tremendously recently, these people suggest the small team working this game should somehow double the rate of content release. Bros I get matches quick even during slow hours some of y'all need to chiiiiiilllllllll.
Xdefiant is good but not exceptional it does nothing better than COD stop comparing the two both games can coexist and provide their experiences, but COD is the king forever. Anyway I hope this game will thrive and people will stop this stupid war Blametruth became just ridiculous at this point.

I want to like this game so bad but there’s no progression unless you buy the battlepass. Battle passes are so bland since you earn the exact same items as everyone else, Deep Rock Galactic did it well where you can select and branch out to the items you want and it’s FREE
Not enough new content. They need to combine and drop two season in one I think. 1 new map a month? No thanks. Drop all 3 maps and 3 guns of season 2 day one and then drop another 3 maps and 3 guns mid season. If they dropped a ton of new content people would come back. Bread crumbs do not get people excited or bring people back, it just gives loyal players a lil bit more content. Thats it.

My personal prediction is it will probably be shut down within a year. And it’s not that I don’t think it’s fun. It is. Only for so long though. Nothing about it really grabs you.
Player counts will suffer when CoD comes out - but if it goes like it always go, then after a few months most people are getting bored and fed up with it, and then Xdefiant is there waiting, better than ever! Maybe some will come back already after a week or 2, if CoD once again releases some half baked buggy experience, and refuse to communicate about it, before a few months in where half the launch bugs MAYBE get fixed.
This game will forever be straight up garbage, hero shooters (ability based shooters) need to just go away. The only way id even give this game a chance if they added a mode where abilities are turned off, they are all cheesy and corny as hell.
