@@ThunderAppeal Totally agree, I thought they'd keep the headbanger's half-hour and add the headbanger's ball, but those jerkoffs stopped the daily half-hour after a bit.
This in my opinion is Scott Ian's greatest riffs ever!!! S.O.D.'s Speak English Or Die album is one of the greatest albums ever. I was a little kid barely 10 years old when I used to watch Headbanger's Ball back in the late 80's and I loved the theme music of the show, but at that time I had no idea what band did the music. It was the early 90's when I found out that S.O D. was the band. I was at Camelot Music store talking to the Heavy Metal guy that happened to be the general manager of the store, and I mentioned to him that I would love to have the music from the late 80's Headbanger's Ball show when Adam Curry was the host. The next time he saw me, he gave me the CD S.O.D Speak English Or Die and told me to trust him and buy this CD because I won't regret it. When I heard March Of The S.O.D. I could not stop yelling finally!! I listened to that album every day for months. Then I saw that they had a live album Live At Budokan and bought that also. I still listen to them both all these years later very often.

This opening riff is legendary. It has changed the lives of so many METAL musicians out there including my own. Iconic, and you know it when you hear it instantly. Scott Ian you are a innovator, and a great rhythm guitarist. Thank you for all the years, and especially for starting things off with this one- "THE RIFF". 🤘🤘
I just really miss the old camouflage amps and the massive CRUNCH he used to have in his sound 🤘 I spent the better part of the 80s trying to figure out his and Hetfields tone on MOP 😂😂
I remember Headbangers Ball on MTV...... when they actually played Music videos, and intro was S.O.D and I looked EVERYWHERE for it. Finally got a copy in 88-89 and My music changed from Punk to Thrash. Best times.
I was also ten years old listening to this in 85-86 I'm 45 and still listening also can't forget MOD thanks to my older brother can't thank him enough for all the metal he shared with me
There's Scott's sick Jackson V! Me and the Diabetic Drummer did a collab of this called March of the Chromatic Death, on my 1960 BASS-VI played like a down tuned guitar, metal-bro! With Clips from the HeadBanger's Ball intros!
Dan Lilker is a legend! Anthrax, S.O.D, Brutal Truth, Nuclear Assault and Lord Goat. I’m sure I missed a few! This riff is in the top 10 vest metal riffs of all time!
Please bring back S.O.D and continue those quarantine video for ever !! Charlie. ... I always drink my coffee when I get up , but this tops the caféine a notch.
1:04 thats my fav part. Signature 80s Charlie right there, hitting all 8th note kicks on a thrash beat. Thats how you know its the drummer from Anthrax \m/
It's so cool that your doing this. I hope Anthrax will tour again as soon as your able, and please come to Vegas. You guys jamming at the gate of area 51 would be epic!!!
I was the guy with the Jean jacket vest with patches on it over my leather jacket and i had the huge “ speak English or die “ patch on the back .. sewn on by a little old Asian lady that didn’t speak English lololol. I paid her double.
The one dislike is from Billy Milano.
I see What you did there.
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Suddenly I’m a teenager again. The King’s X shirt is just icing on the cake. Thank you gentlemen!
damn straight I'm 45 and still bang to this song, bring back the Milan o m osh 4 one more tour please!!!!!!!
Heck yeah! Saw Kings X Shirt!
My first ever gig was Kings X supporting Anthrax so this brings it full circle!
That shirt is so tiny, it had to have been washed thousands of times by now. It's probably a 30 year old t-shirt. I'd love one of those 😢
You can't hear this and not headbang, it's just not possible.
Fr
Bravo, gentlemen. *BRAVO!* 🤘🔥🔥🔥
literally , it was the intro music to headbanger's ball for years
Anyone else feel like its 12:30am on a Saturday and we're all watching Headbanger's Ball?
Yeah, and waiting through all the hair metal bands for the heavier videos.

Charlie wrote a lot of the music for S.O.D. (and Anthrax as well), but I think Scott wrote this one.

I bought it anyways. Because, Metal!
Bro,I bet they can't even barely play smoke on the water lol

You should have bought a drumstick too and poked them right in the eye.
When I first started playing guitar I couldn't figure it out, it wasn't until a more advanced player told be about dropped D tuning 😁

@Rob Foam Billy spits on the crowd all the time. He is the rude one for sure.
I'd rather see it with Mike Patton's singing, this coming from someone who bought speak English or die in 1985 on cassette
Danny laying it down. Saw him with Nuclear Assault in Long Beach in 88. He's awesome.
Great song writer and arranger

I dare anyone not to headbang to this tune. Such a classic metal tune and yet so under rated. Bad a$$ track.
Charlie looks the same in 2021 as he ever has. Never ages. Despite the persistence of time.
To me, that record/cd has one of the staple of heaviest guitar tones. I remember hearing this in 1987, 12 year old and in 7th grade. I was floored.

It's good to see Dan Lilker playing with Charlie & Scott. I didn't know the story about his removal from Anthrax before this.
To be fair…it was Neil Turbin who did it (singer on Fistful Of Metal album). Behind Scott’s back too, which sucks even more.
Scott Ian's riffing gives such a tight yet sludgy feel thats quite uncommon in thrash metal...so unique in its own way.
Yess!!!
I would like a tour of what kit or kits Charlie has set up around the house.
I like to imagine all those cd's behind Dan Lilker are all from bands he is in.
They probably are. Lol
