I know mainly his organworks played by Gert van Hoef. I especially taste the style of Brahms and it really appeals to me. As always thank for this surprise my dear Yulia. Wish you of course all the best for 2022!
Thank you, my friend! I haven't listened to his music much, he doesn't have enough recordings, but I've seen that he has a lot of music posted on UA-cam, so I'll follow him. I hope we all have a better year and put an end to the uncertainties and worries created by this virus!
I love Dubois sacred music and most of his organ production. This is a very attractive concerto, though, written along the railway of French tradition, with lots of mastery in orchestration and excellent balance of solo / orchestra. Good music does not need to always be innovative, does it? Happy New Year
Thanks, you're right. When I first listened to this concert, it seemed like a "déjà vu" and I didn't like it very much. Now, listening to it several times (during my attempts to re-record it to balance a bit the sound) I started to like it, it has ... a French charm :) Have a good year too!
Thanks! I only saw a little bit of the Vienna Concert, I had other things to do. But it's on UA-cam, maybe I'll listen to it in full. I like Ziehrer's music: waltzes, polkas, marches and ballet music. Music from Ballet Scenes after Verdi, Meyerbeer and Sullivan I also posted on UA-cam, but the music was not well rated.
