- Soul legend, Wilson Pickett, sings 634-5789 (Soulsville, U.S.A.) which he first recorded in 1965.
What is Blues Brothers 2000 (1998) about?
Eighteen years after the Brothers' original "mission from God", Elwood Blues (Dan Aykroyd) is getting out of prison and discovering that much has changed in the time he's been away. His partner, Jake, is gone, his band is no longer together and the orphanage where he grew up has been demolished. Elwood soon realizes that he must embark on a whole new mission - to reassemble the old band, this time with the help of a soulful bartender (John Goodman), compete at Queen Moussette's (Erykah Badu) Battle of the Bands and set a wayward orphan named Buster on the path to redemption. In the midst of the mayhem, he's got to prove to the police that there's magic in the music...and a mysterious method behind the Blues Brothers' madness. Special appearances by B.B. King, Aretha Franklin, James Brown, Johnny Lang, Blues Traveler, Eric Claption and many more. It's an action-packed comedy with lots of Rhythm and Blues.

This whole movie was underrated.
Nah. I love The Blues Brothers, and this movie just isn't very good.
The soundtrack justifies its existence, though. Bangers from end to end.
Love it!
@@submortimerit was never about the movie. It’s a bout the music with a cartoon as the backdrop. This is a good movie
Yes story is as good or better than the first one guess people just missed jake really
Criminally.
This number has been stuck in my head ever since I saw this movie.
People hating on this movie are crazy. It was mostly a vehicle to enjoy the nostalgia of the original Blues Brothers, some thick Chicago accents, a fond dedication to Belushi and John Candy, and just a platform to hear Aretha Franklin, Wilson Pickett, Eddie Floyd, BB King, James Brown, and a dozen other incredible musicians do basically a music video we would've otherwise never gotten from them.
So glad they got Wilson Pickett to participate in this sequence… to me he was one of the greatest ‘soul singers’ of the era. The first time I heard his phenomenal version of ‘Land of a Thousand Dances’ on the radio I flipped out lol… just sensational!
Johnny Lang, love this dude
I wish Jonny Lang still did chewie groovie up tempo songs like this. Last time I saw him, half the festival left because he put them to sleep. Talented, for sure. But so was Dubussy.
Those 2 black men and the young man with the guitar shure can sing and all 3 of them are very attractive!!!!
Jonny lang
This is one of my favourite comedies, the cast are brilliant! I just wish John Belushi could have started in it!
*In The Blues Brothers that was Ray's Music exchange! That was nifty that they were able to use the same location.* 😃
The lady at 0:47 always reminded me of the old grandma from Eddie Murphy's Nutty Professor movies
Ha ha, I know exactly what you mean!!!! She does look like her I must say!
The great wicked wilson pickett
Love this song
Movie had a hard time as beong a sequel of one of the best movies ever.
But the soundtrack. 6 3 4 5 7 8 9
Amazing voices
Great soundtrack
For those of us who know and love Wilson and Eddie these artists we feel blessed. For those who have no knowledge of their greatness, your loss. Johnny Lang's guitar is great but his vocals are grating.
I love the sound of Johnny Langs voice. He doesn’t look natural singing it, but I think it sounds amazing.
@@hammurds what's wild is that he was *SEVENTEEN* years old when they filmed this. And his voice is that rich already. That's insane.
I always do the dance Elmwood does when he walks and points @1:56 .....everybody else think I'm insane, lol
Excellent 😊
I do that too 😂😂😂😂
Elwood
Same lol
I love that part
I love this movie. The songs are outstanding.
Yo amo está película con todo mi corazón ❤❤❤❤❤
SUPER!!!
That guitar @ 1:49 it's soooo good !
Jonny Lang!!
Saw him live years ago. He was still a teen. What a show!
This song is so good
Wow never knew Johnny Lang was in this movie
This is the second movie from 1998 not the first one from 1980
@@kevaunmitchell1316 Yes I know
This is a real company, I've looked into it. According to a BT operator their an adult chat line!!!! Awesome tune to be honest!
Dem is sum good singin’ chern! I tell you of a truth and not a lie! PWG
Love it this song
My mother as a kid she called this number
Good song ❤ and the chreographie dances.
impressive... the whole office has already been wireless...
yeah, no power cables for the computers either. 🤣
What I wouldn’t do to meet Murphy done and Mr. Elwood blues
They forgot the 1-900 area code in the song.😆😉😜
Does it really matter
It's a real number and a real company. You can phone them, many years ago I talked to the phone operator who told me it's an adult chat line!!!! I don't know if their still going but Eds love exchange is or was a trading company.
Awesome
Heck yeah lol 😂😆!
There is a town 15 miles from me with a 634 prefix, and I really want to get the cell phone number for it. I would make the answering message this song from 1:21 to 3:55. If someone really needs to leave me a voicemail, they will have to endure the awe of this musical masterpiece.
How did UA-cam know I had this song on my iTunes 😭
"Matrimonial services" ....that's a VERY elusive description! 😆 💀
Absolutely love this, but where is John Mayer when you need him?
Thought the same thing lol but Mayer didn't release his first album until 2001 and this came out in 1998.
De poca madre
Love ❤💕this whole 🤬bleeping plus bleeding 🩸film 🎞🎥scene!
Anyone else notice that the janitor mops on beat?
New Orleans Louisiana State per la musica blues band al bar birrerie enoteche ristoranti
Terrible movie, great soundtrack!
I saw it at the cinema. I remember most of the audience walked out half way through this scene.
Ha ha lol 😂😆😝!
The Louisiana Gator Boys
Seems like a good hiring policy here - not based on any of the women's age, race or appearance, just giving a lot of women a job that they seem to be in no danger of losing because there will always be people calling.
Just hope is not no one,s grandma on the other side of the phone lol 😂
Wish people had this mentally when hiring now days
@@fgameshunter1782 Think they'll recognise their grandchildren's voice on the other end?
dont forget jonny lang
This movie was weak, but this is easily the best musical number in it.
The disney dude
I said this when the movie first came out, I say it again all these years later, Johnny Lang adds nothing to this. I'm sure he's great now, but this... ugh
His guitar playing adds a rock element to this classic R&B song
@@billbaumiester6764
Barely, if any.
por temasos asi no me gusta el regueton
MAGA❤️✊🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸♥️
Wow ! John Goodman is cool but he ain't no blues brother ! This version of Wilson Picket's classic has potential but has way too many silly moments to take it seriously. They took one of baddest R&B tracks ever and turned it into some suburban karaoke bullshit !
Are you ok man? No one hugged you very much as a child huh?
*It's a shame that the doctors couldn't save your funnybone after the accident.*
It’s impossible to replace Belushi’s character but Goodman was a good pick. If you’ve seen his movie King Ralph you’ll know why
Johnny Lang is a terrible singer
I disagree. I'm a woman. And it makes me want to undress. Just saying.
@@kaseysartor1151 I have sang for my chorus. One thing I have learned from my chorus teacher is don’t sing from your throat. Sing from you chest, your lungs. Johnny sounds like he has a few frogs in his throat. If my chorus teacher heard that voice she would think it was terrible. His guitar playing is great though.
@@biguy617 OK, that's fair. 👌 😄
He's just a terrible singer when compared to wilson pickett and eddie floyd, hardly fair...
@@biguy617 strangely enough though despite being a terrible singer he sells out concerts and has made millions handover fist over decades long career. So I guess technical performance isn't everything is it?
That's my phone number!!!
I won't say which area code, but that's my phone number!
😁👍
Time to get a new phone number, you don't want people trying to contact you
