Gives me hope for the next generation of musicians and the gifts they will bring like Jon and all of Yes has done for so many yrs now over 40 yrs in my life of musical inspiration!
Love the conjunction of Jon Anderson with the youth. His music certainly takes this Yes collection to further perspectives than unimaginable heights and extends the genre to younger age groups. This is education.
Es una maravilla poder apreciar la música de YES con Jon y una generación de jóvenes músicos!... realmente es un privilegio... la semilla del progresivo está en buena tierra!
Jon + any group of musicians = YES it seems (not the other way around). The young musicians and singers did a great job - the soloists were particularly outstanding. The arrangements were superb - would love to see my local symphony and choir perform these numbers (and several more). The mostly original arrangement of State of Independence holds up beautifully after all these years. I love the fact that the orchestra took on Jon Anderson / Vangelis and YES music - many kudos to the conductor and arrangers many years too late and for Andrey Kleovkin for posting (otherwise I would still be in the dark about it). It is clear to me (as it always has been) that much of Jon, Vangelis and YES' music is beautiful and timeless and worthy of living well beyond my lifetime.
For any of y'all who enjoyed Jon Anderson of Yes' recent collaboration with the CYO led by Liza Grossman out of Cuyahoga, Ohio, find Tommy Shaw and his long time bud, guitarist and his musical director Will Evankovich and their project from 15 years ago also with the CYO and chorus. A complete set of 12 tunes on a CD with the two men and the CYO shot all the way to #4 on Billboard album chart shortly after its release. A few months later the entire current lineup of Styx (Chucky Panazzo, James 'JY' Young, Todd Sucherman, Ricky Phillips and Lawrence Gowan) did a live show or two with the CYO. if John Anderson moved you to tears, you better break out a couple of boxes of clean-ex to view the CYO with Styx. Incredible stuff when the old school rockers WHO GET IT, give back!!!
@@annford6640 there's a young girl at the end that says, "I love him" . Having seen Yes/Jon in person I can attest to his energy and charisma. Tiny but Mighty. And sincere.
Thank you for sharing. One of the best concerts I ever attended. Only possibly bested by when I saw jon with the cyo the first time at wejton (so) auditorium and my father and I were the only two people dressed in Yes t shirts and jeans. Amazing nights. Hope it happens again. Something special truly.
Wonderful! Great to hear this music re-interpreted in an orchestral setting, really interesting. Fabulous to have so many young people involved. Well done to all involved!
That is the proof that YES would be absolutely nothing without this man! This guy is as great as Sibelius and other great composers he himself adores. Great concert. Great investment into the young generation musical creativity.
Absolutely wonderful !! I've seen it 4 times and I'm still excited. Great conductor woman, great kids and of course amazing Anderson. I love the part 1:24:54 where the boy plays the violin, he is so proud and then the girl smiles at him. Beautiful :-)
Doors LA WOMAN Was My First Record, Fragile Was My Second , But What A Voice Jon Had, He Captivated Me Each Time I Played It, And I Played It A Lot, Go Jon Go!!
Jon Anderson's voice is so unique. It's amazing to see him presenting his amazing music alongside these young, talented musicians. The fact he was revolutionising music before most of their parents were born must be quite difficult for most of the orchestra to grasp.
how perfect we were taught to b e .......... bored no bad child ....... with thought s to play strings ... make life interestin for the audience ........ as we play us .......
So good for the orchestral musicians accompanying a performance in the rock idiom to be given something to get their teeth into, rather than the basic block chords and melodies they usually get. A shame perhaps that the compressed audio can't do justice to the music as it must have sounded in the hall on the night.
ok, I found it , all glory to Liza Grossman and all the wonderful people who helped with this amazing project and thanks to all people in Severance Hall, Cleveland, Ohio
Jon is great but, in my view, he is better with Bruford, Squire, Howe and later White, and a good keyboardist like Wakeman. This show is great, and I've recorded it for prosperity The orchestration is unbelievable and it's great to see the performers enjoying themselves. I guess I'm not a fan of Jon's own compilations they don't have the same oomph and progressive rock genre. I'm ranting. Listening to Soon as I write this and I'm loving it............Classic music

To a very large degree, the music of Yes IS "John's own songs," with additional parts and arrangements provided by the other extremely talented, ever-changing cast of band members. But John and Chris Squire were the originators and foundation of Yes, the top and bottom of the sound, and once they were no longer there, it was merely a very good Yes cover band. John Anderson teaches American musicians and music lovers to listing to Yes brilliant music....
I was graced with a 7th row center for this performance. 🥰
To this day I offer tears of pure joy when I recall and relisten. 🙏
That had to be magical
I am 25 minutes in to this and I am still crying with joy!!!
The music of Jon Anderson and Steve Howe is some of the finest in history. Very glad to see these young talents so inspired!
Gives me hope for the next generation of musicians and the gifts they will bring like Jon and all of Yes has done for so many yrs now over 40 yrs in my life of musical inspiration!
If State of Independence does not make you cry with tears of joy and inspiration of the human spirit, I do not know what will.
John Anderson angelical voice wonderful.

This is beyond awesome. Very moving to see a genuine musical icon play with talented young musicians.
I first watched this in 2010 and still I am in love with it. I can watch this over and over. Amazing talent
The voice that guided us thru the decades. Excellent.
Jon Anderson's voice is a wonder
Totally extraordinary and unique.
Wow their parents must have been so proud to see their children on stage with Jon anderson and the singers looked like they really enjoyed it.
Everything is fantastic here: the songs, the performers, the direction, the orchestration... Bravo to everyone involved!
I just discovered this. What a magnificent concert performance. The CYO, Conductor and Jon are Fantastic!
THANK YOU FOR POSTING THIS GEM… The children's faces, expressions happiness… what bliss
I love that Jon is doing this. Amazing.
Yes Jon is a great musician and good person.

Wow......Jon acknowledges the entire orchestra......and the audience......you can't top that.......excellent musicianship.......damn good show!
After "I've Seen All Good People," one young man in the orchestra turned to his friend and said, (I read his lips, obviously...) "I just got chills."
I saw that too; He seems really into it and enjoying good music. I'd love to be able to do that.

You can increase the sound velocity with a video editor, like Kapwing, that are able to add 200% or Audacity that can normalize the velocity

its soulless sorry kids these days lost something
May you find peace from the torment you are experiencing
Clearly you weren’t in band as a kid.
WHY do the kids sound like ROBOTS? Robots messing up a Masterpiece
It is so sad you are extending your anger on this wonderful performance. May you find the peace you desperately need.
Imagine making fun of kids for playing so well
