The TRN V80’s, which I got on your rec, fit so great I forget they’re there, and I freak out a little, then I’m assured all is well when I touch my ears. Great product and great price! Thanks Rob!

Well Rob, I scored the V80's because of your reviews and I'm listening to you with them right now. I had a little bit of music going on earlier when I tested them and I was pretty impressed. When I have my Bose over ear headphones on with my phone, the volume doesn't go up high enough. I keep wanting more volume... but with the V80's I can keep the volume down a few clicks and I've still got some headroom, and they're plenty loud. I'm stoked so far. These people are going to owe you some dough. Thanks for the hook up!

I got the V80 a few days ago, based on several reviews, including yours. Comparing them to the ZS10 (not AS10), they sound very similar. The V80 have more mids though, and that's why I wanted them. Many reviewers found sibilance, but perhaps they were just too used to that fashionable unholy "V-shape" freq response. I can't hear anything there with the V80 that didn't belong. The upper lows I find a bit mushy and thick, though, on the V80. Agreed on the much better fit than with the KZ. That immediately won me over.
I think it can't be stressed enough how important a perfect fit of the tips is. I personally discarded all standard tips, also foam tips, because they don't stay in my ears. I require long thin ones, and they only ones that do that for me are triple flange tips. Perfect seal, bass response as good as it can be, perfect isolation. This is to say: it is advisable to try all those different tips.

Picked these up because of your review. Love 'em! Terrific low end, but the mids and highs sound great as well. I play a hybrid kit, and when playing the electric kick I've gotta feel it. I do with these. They're efficient as well... I can get plenty of volume out of them with my receiver. Thanks for the recommend!

I find this 2 and half years late, BUT THANK YOU! I was looking for a REAL opinion, from someone with REAL knowledge on the product and I found your description and review better than all others combined. My problem is, I need a BT option, because my Samsung has no input jack! I now understand I want a BT / TRN V80, so i'm going to jump into more rabbit holes now, looking for the best alternative in BT.

Saved the day again, literally was in the basket of my amazon cart. I own the ZS6 And ZS10... Whilst the sound is great, I always find them to fall out and never sit right in the ear! The size of ZS10 I find is too large! But the value can not be knocked. Can't wait until the weekend to try these TRN's!
Great video, couldn't agree more about what you said about the KZ's!

Just got a set of the V80s, based on your recommendation, and used them all weekend at two church gatherings. I was used to the KZ ZS5 (quad drivers) and after readjusting my levels, I noticed everything sounded just so much clearer. The V80s are significantly more isolating than the ZS5s (especially with the double flanged tips I got for them), have a much more pleasant top end, and are more comfortable overall. The ZS5s seem to have a more punchy low end, but I am very satisfied with my purchase and likely won't be looking back for a while.

I first hated the V80 because it’s very sibilant using the silicone tips. I swapped to foams and it’s so much better! I carry these with me all the time along with the Tin T2 and Sony 1AM2. Great comparison video btw!

I bought the TRN V80s on Rob's suggestion. Played some music from my iPhone, and the sound was very good. Not amazing. BUT, when I sat down at my drums, and played along with the music thru the phone, I could hear the music well, and my drums sounded GREAT! Usually in-ears kill all the highs, but the TRN let a very full spectrum of reduced db ambient sound thru. No ear plugs or in ears have ever sounded better. So...the TRN V80 are great for practicing, and I'd imagine, as In-ears at the gig. Love em!

Rob, brother. Buddy. Friend. Yo. So there is this exercise by Carter McLean (Fantastic drummber btw.) He does the exercise with matched grip, but I really only play traditional grip. Coould it be possible for you to help out us traditional grip players with the accenting on this? It's a triplet accent exercise with every 5th note being accented; Rll rlL rll rLl (rinse and repeat.)
(What I need help with is how to physically keep my ghosts low and my accents high. It goes between the 2nd note of a diddle being the accent and the 1st note of the diddle. Even though it's technically not a diddle it's basically a diddle.)

I have purchased six pairs of these over the last two years and I love the sound. The problem I'm seeing lately is that the connection in the 3.5 mm connection is not lined up just right. The stereo connection drops quite frequently. When using them to monitor music when playing, it is common to lose either the left or right ear. You have to pull them out or push them in to secure the connection for both ears and even that doesn't guarantee that you're going to get both ears. Frustrating!

    Not high fidelity for sure.
They aren't really that clear, they do have a higher frequency pitch if you don't want bass or to listen to symphony or Pink Floyd, definitely not for high fidelity listening.
I'm not taking a chance on the KZ AS10 either.
I guess if they're free, promote them. Personally I'd feel like i was lying if i promoted them just because they were free.

Tried the V80s. Bass was impressive and very rich. However, the high end was far too harsh. Some really strange presence boosts made it sound completely unnatural and I found myself turning music down to almost 0 to allow for comfortable listening. These KZ suck, I dont have anything to add. They isolate good, but they sound trash. I dont know why would anyone recommend them. Your standard akg buds from galaxy s8 will sounds years betteeer
