I love how Goku befriended Buu literally by teaching him to steal instead of kill. It's like he's saying "bro just steal it, what are they going to do? You're majin Buu"
Brooooo... That Vegeta line "he is LITERALLY the biggest fish" made me die. It's like I heard Lanipator just screaming it in his Vegeta voice at the top of his lungs, broke me. You have my respect lol
What I loved about the imagery was the Chains represented so much more than Goku being Trapped. It represented his mental state and how he was chained to rage through the beginning and throughout the story he finally broke the chains and was able to find happiness even through the pain he went through.
Man, that Grandfather-Grandson Kamehameha and Goku reuniting with Grandpa Gohan ACTUALLY *VERY NEARLY* got me to cry, to the point where I was actually tearing up a good bit!
I love how due to goku's trauma and experiences he learns to give everyone a 2nd chance which makes everything more interesting ESPECIALLY seeing Radditz, Nappa, and Zamasu which just got merc'd forgetting 90% of goku's pals in the series probably committed some atrocity at some point. Also seeing Radditz grow and be a better person was amazing.
"He turned into an Oscar statue" and "Time to slap some sense into you" is a hilarious reference to when Will Smith slapped Chris Rock at the 2022 Oscar Awards.
Baba: Kami, where's Goku? Kami: I trapped him in the hyperbolic time chamber. Who knows what he could've done if his dark side was ever unleashed! Baba:...were you not watching when Goku fought Devilman?
I gotta say, this is perhaps the best What If you have created besides "What If Bardock Went to Earth With Goku?" Every single part helps amplify how Goku's personality changed from a kind-hearted warrior to a ruthless Saiyan who cared about nothing but training as well as Grandpa Gohan's home. However, after meeting Raditz and joining with the Nappa and Vegeta to kill Frieza, coming back to Earth to destroy Gero and Cell, dying but returning 7 years later to stop Majin Buu as well as befriend him, obtaining SSJ4 against Beerus while Vegeta got the God forms, soloing the Universe 6 Tournament, Killing King Cold and putting Frieza's revenge on hold, teaming up with many more Gokus to stop Goku Black, redeem Present Zamasu, unlock Ultra Ego during the ToP with Vegeta unlocking UI, befriend Broly after Frieza's attempt to steal the Dragon Balls, stopping Moro's reign after regaining the lost years stolen by Kami, helping Granolah + Cell defeat Gas and the Heeters, and finally fusing with Vegeta into Vegito in the final test with Beerus and Whis who fused into Whirus as well. These adventures helped Goku regain the trust of his friends and give him the title as the next God of Destruction. Smugstick, this story was an awesome ride and I look forward to seeing more What Ifs with such an impact full story like no other. Keep up the amazing work! 👍 FINAL RESULTS: Infinity 👍💯🏆👏👊🤩💪🏅👍👏🏆🏆😎
The ending of the tournament of power was so ironic how goku faced vegeta freiza cell and bud and they were presented in the order he “on” defeated. The irony is so poetic truly a good story good job smug stick.
Without a doubt the best "What-If" I've ever listened to. The story was really longlong, extremely well thought out, and executed phenomenally. I loved absolutely every part of the story, whether it be the struggle of Goku learning to forgive and trust others or just Vegeta saying "He is literally the biggest fish". Most likely will watch this the whole way through again someday.
Maybe its just me but hearing that grandpa gohan give that speech just kinda broke me down, makes me upset every time but in a happy way. Idk how to explain it really but its honestly amazing to feel.
My only regret is that I found this at nearly 3 am, it is now 6 am and I have work tomorrow, and i’m still not done. Will be finishing when I wake up. Very well written alternate timeline for the Z fighters. Very good to see Raditz as a good guy, always felt he got the short end of the stick in the writing.
"What if kami does something terribly cruel to goku?" Is kind of weird, but its certainly more interesting that "what if _____ turned good/survived?" For the billionth time.
Imagine a dark ending where Goku wakes up back in the time chamber as an old man about to die, meaning everything that happened so far was all just in his head. In a sense, the what-if title's true in that he never really did escape the chamber after all
I was very skeptical to listen to this one. I saw it pop up many times and thought the idea didnt sound interesting at all, but now that I listened to the actual story it was awesome!!! Great work!
What I like about your what if’s it’s how original they are. Even an overused what if like this, you just make it your own. I’ve never watched such a long video in UA-cam, yet I’ve watched it twice now. Keep up the good work.
I normally stray away from the very long full what ifs but this one caught my attention and I’m glad it did because I sat here and watched this whole thing. Super good job

Although this was released months ago glad I watched the full story. An excellent approach to the upbringing of Goku. Definitely a great comparison to the original. What enjoyed most was the power scaling stayed legit an reasonable grow was necessary to actually defeat a opponent. Plus a potential for more. 🎉😮🎉

Making the power scaling realistic was one of the main challenges as I didn’t want it to be too unrealistic. I honestly didn't expect to like this story so much! I've been listening to MasakoX's "what if"s as podcasts while working and was runnning out of new episodes so decided to try some new storytellers. Heard about you in a tier list vid and they were right for giving you S tier! 😆
Dude, by the end, I swear I was jumping up and down in my room like I had just finished watching like the greatest animes ever. I was especially hype during the Goku Black arc, just because of how epic it really was. I could imagine the scenes animated in my mind, and it would’ve been the greatest thing to ever grace my eyes. Super super super super super super super well done, my friend!
This is one of the best what ifs I have watched, all except for Vegeta teaming up with Freeza against Goku, I believe Vegeta would of told Freeza he would defeat Goku himself and didn't need him but it did set up a good reason behind their animosity for later in the story.
there are NO words to describe the feeling of watching this and just how good it is. but i can clearly say that that was the absulute BEST what if story that i have ever heard, perhaps the best in dragon ball history! those 4 hours were an unbelivably incredible adventure to go through with all of the charecters (btw i siriusly adore you for making goku's brother such an important charecter, ty) that was, just, WOW. thank you so so much for making this!
I loved this! Tons of appreciation to everyone involved, you can really tell how dedicated everyone involved was to make this video happen. One part I especially liked was Raditz getting his own story and redemption arc. Also, can we get some respect for Vegeta managing to be the voice of reason almost the entire time? IIRC Piccolo took most of that role in DBZ, in his timeline it's all Vegeta all the time.
This is one of my favorite what-ifs so far. The amount of effort you put into this is emmese and everything about this is perfect. The voice acting is well done, storyline actually makes sense and many more. (I reread my comment and it seems that I'm a fan boy but I'm seriously not.)

Id have to agree that they’re the best story tellers. As of now I still think salad has the highest quality stories especially now that he’s starting to make more outlandish videos. Although I’ll probly start watching smugs a bit more now that I’ve basically watched all of salads

What already blows my mind is that those first 30 YEARS FOR GOKU, was a mere month in real time. It deadass could've been a test and Goku would've been on demon time😭
When I started watching this I thought it's just another what if with time chember... Boy have I been humbled... By far this is the best what if that I ever seen. Very interesting, very oryginal and very wholesome.
This was really well done. I kept on seeing it. But thought it's a really over the top fan made story but I was so wrong. This is great, enjoyed all of it in one go!

Honestly- I think it's amazing how this version of Goku reminds me of Broly, (the re-booted Broly) considering his backstory and looking at how they both act and fight, this is just really good writing how they remind me of each other. (Thank you for making this, btw (人*´∀｀)+ﾟ:｡*ﾟ+)
At first, I thought this was gonna be 4 hours of Goku training in the time chamber, occasionally bursting out in rage, which would break the door to the chamber. I prefer this
honestly i would love too actually see goku meet grandpa gohan again or even meet his parents for the first time i feel like it would make him a much more mature character overall this video was amazing keep up the fire content 🔥
This was just an amazing story all together, i was somehow able to watch the whole thing, and i laughed at how ssj5 vegito had 6 fingers on his right hand, but even still, your voice acting and story writing was amazing, thank you
I have made this joke a couple of times, but I guess I should do it again. This betrayed Goku is like Naruto, because he has talk no Jutsu, the first thing he does after his redemption is to always and without fail talk to the enemy. Such a nice change.
That’s so funny, I was super into Naruto while writing this and didn’t think about it. I think it works, since he internally thinks everything could’ve been avoided if Kami would’ve just talked to him
This was absolutely amazing! It was also crazy incredible how Gohan can use his Beast form now in this series and how Gohan became a god of destruction this was an absolutely perfect series! Keep up the incredible work!

Dude, by the end, I swear I was jumping up and down in my room like I had just finished watching like the greatest animes ever. I was especially hype during the Goku Black arc, just because of how epic it really was. I could imagine the scenes animated in my mind, and it would’ve been the greatest thing to ever grace my eyes.

This is one of the best what ifs I have watched, all except for Vegeta teaming up with Freeza against Goku, I believe Vegeta would of told Freeza he would defeat Goku himself and didn't need him but it did set up a good reason behind their animosity for later in the story.
there are NO words to describe the feeling of watching this and just how good it is. but i can clearly say that that was the absulute BEST what if story that i have ever heard, perhaps the best in dragon ball history! those 4 hours were an unbelivably incredible adventure to go through with all of the charecters (btw i siriusly adore you for making goku's brother such an important charecter, ty) that was, just, WOW. thank you so so much for making this!

I loved this! Tons of appreciation to everyone involved, you can really tell how dedicated everyone involved was to make this video happen. One part I especially liked was Raditz getting his own story and redemption arc. Also, can we get some respect for Vegeta managing to be the voice of reason almost the entire time? IIRC Piccolo took most of that role in DBZ, in his timeline it's all Vegeta all the time.
This is one of my favorite what-ifs so far. The amount of effort you put into this is emmese and everything about this is perfect. The voice acting is well done, storyline actually makes sense and many more.

This is a really good story. Goku's character arc is incredible and he earns it.
Man you and salad are the two best dbz what if youtubers out there imo but I gotta give you the nod for the best just because you change the story most of the time but always end up keeping the integrity of it and brining it full circle like the cell gohan at the end I just can't get enough of your stuff bro keep it up!

When I started watching this I thought it's just another what if with time chember... Boy have I been humbled... By far this is the best what if that I ever seen. Very interesting, very oryginal and very wholesome.

This was really well done. I kept on seeing it. But thought it's a really over the top fan made story but I was so wrong. This is great, enjoyed all of it in one go!

Honestly- I think it's amazing how this version of Goku reminds me of Broly, (the re-booted Broly)

This betrayed Goku is like Naruto, because he has talk no Jutsu, the first thing he does after his redemption is to always and without fail talk to the enemy.

That’s so funny, I was super into Naruto while writing this and didn’t think about it. I think it works, since he internally thinks everything could’ve been avoided if Kami would’ve just talked to him

This was absolutely amazing! It was also crazy incredible how Gohan can use his Beast form now in this series and how Gohan became a god of destruction this was an absolutely perfect series! Keep up the incredible work!
