    This is so helpful! I’m gonna do the wiring first and then the board programming work. Later do the platform or stand for the camera to sit on. Amazing work! Keep doing these videos!

    Very cool project, thank you for that. Just did the wiring and programming and worked almost from the start. Now I need to build the case.

    Clever idea! I've made the electronics part on a breadboard - it itakes pictures and seems to work fine that way - and the display works...just the display 'tiles' are in the reverse order for me. So 'SMILE!' is 'E! IL SM'. Please could I have some advice? Thanks

    I really like your build and video. I may take some of your design ideas to create something similar.
    I rented a Penthouse for NYE 2021 in San Francisco. Now the task is to build a photo booth for cheap. Also I’m thinking of using the twilio Api to text people who input details with a num pad or keyboard.
    Just had a thought of allowing people to input their details and then throughout the party facial recognition will text or email them the photo. That way if their to drunk, it’s all good

    • @DIYMachines
      @DIYMachines  4 роки тому

      Wow, love you idea of tracking the guests with facial recognition so they can keep using it and receiving photos as they keep drinking. Haha, I wonder if the pioneers of face recognition ever considered it's use in this way? :)

    A nice expansion to this would be linking it to upload to Twitter or another platform.

    • @DIYMachines
      @DIYMachines  4 роки тому

      Great idea. I almost implemented that - but I would have to have added a Raspberry Pi instead of the Arduino and this would have driven the cost up slightly. I was aiming to keep it cheap so ultimately decided not to add the functionality.

    Wow what a nice proyect!!! I was wondering: would it be possible to connect it to a printer so it prints the photo in the same place, like a professional photobooth?

  •  4 роки тому

    Nice idea :) I’m going to give this a try, but I think I’m going to try to minimise the size of the booth by leaving the camera out of the enclosure. I guess it’s safer to have it enclosed but for the use I intend to give it, it will be fine.
    Thanks again 👍🏼

    Hi, thanks for the great tutorial! I'm curious though; how are you sending the image to the monitor? How long does it display for and how is the monitor connected to the Arduino?

    • @lewisea
      @lewisea 4 роки тому +1

      Thanks. The monitor is connected to the camera directly and is just showing the cameras 'review' of the photo for about 10 seconds after the photo is taken. The monitor is not connected to the Arduino. The Arduino is controlling the shutter on the camera, the giant arcade button and LED countdown.

      Lewis Aburrow where is the arduino getting power from?

    • @DIYMachines
      @DIYMachines  4 роки тому

      @@jackass...2726 The Arduino is connected to a USB power supply. As the monitor had to be connected to mains I did not see a huge benefit in engineering something to power the Arduino instead of just a mains powered USB supply.

    Hello I just uploaded the program to my nano but the words do not scroll across all of the MAX display. instead it looks to scroll across each board individually and the words are all jumbled. Do you know why this would be happening? Thanks great video and love the end result!

    • @DIYMachines
      @DIYMachines  5 років тому +1

      Hi, some MAX displays are rotated. Try changing the rotation on line 27 to different increments of 90 and see if this helps. (i.e. 0, 90, 180, 270,)

    cant connect my SONY A7 M3 to the screen via C-type cable ??? What to do ??

    • @DIYMachines
      @DIYMachines  2 роки тому

      I made a shutter release for my Sony A7 M3 by buying one of these (amzn.to/3mwBMOF), open up the controller and you'll see which wires make contact when you press it (one focuses and the next activates the shutter). From this you'll now how to wire it up to where the red and yellow wires are labelled on the wiring diagram. :)

    hi, is it possible to add a printer via usb to this?

    • @DIYMachines
      @DIYMachines  3 роки тому

      Hello, the Arduino and current code would not allow for this. If it is something you wanted to do I would recommend using a Raspberry Pi (you would need new write new code) and something like GPHOTO (www.gphoto.org) to capture and retrieve the image from he camera to then send on to a printer.

    What is the make of your 3D printer? Are you happy with it?

    • @DIYMachines
      @DIYMachines  5 років тому

      Hello, my printer is a Prusa i3 Mk3s. I am happy with it. It's not perfect, it will have an occasional short run of misprints but after some simple maintenance everything runs like a dream again. I've clocked up about 43 days of continuous printing and it's layered over 1.3km of filament and still runs as good as when I first assembled it. I intend to get another Prusa when thye time comes to replace this one.
