brilliant strategic play from dark in game 1. the bait base in the bottom, the instant retake of another base before he even lost that one, the off-meta use of ultras as "more mobile lurkers", the strategic capturing of the gold base as an opening into terran's main and refusal to allow it be set up as a chokepoint.

Please no more cringe complaints about Ghosts. Game 1 also had Ghosts yet Clem lost, it was a full 22 minutes well into Ghost production yet Dark won with Ultralisk comp of all things which folks seem to think can't win against Ghosts. Game 2, Clem won without producing a single Ghost. 🤷♂ Game 4 was decided long before Ghosts touched the battlefield, Clem was up 15 workers which had absolutely nothing to do with Ghosts. Your superpower appears to be the ability to pick one portion of one game of an entire series to reinforce your erroneous belief that Ghosts are the imbalanced part of the game, while ignoring all evidence to the contrary. Well done, Tunnel Vision Man. 🦸♂
If you want to know why Hero upgrades armor first it's simple math. Protoss has the most supply heavy armies in the game. Let's say that a maxed out protos middgame force is around 40 units, at an avarege of around 3 supply each. Then we have terran, with about 70 units at about 1,8 supply each on avarege. Then we have zerg, which we put at around 120 units at 1 supply each on avarege. Then we take into account that zerg and terran units has a bit faster attack speed on average, but that isn't even needed in this example, but the difference is even bigger. Now to the math: 40 units with an attack upgrade would increase damage by about 80, for 70 units from terran would be about 100, for 120 units it would be 150. Increasing defense instead removes that damage increase and subtracts it instead for the opponent. This means that for protoss making damage upgrade results in a difference between your and your opponent at 80. While upgrading defense as protoss would against terran get 100 more "power", and against zerg it would give 150. Against other protoss it does not matter that much so might as well not disrupt the muscle memory.
I love that Lowko always stays professional with Dark's shenanighans, but nobody figuring out that Tyckus was stuck in his armor during WoL is what baffles him.
Protoss is the only imba race and has been for years. E.g. this year tournament wins are ~51% Protoss, 26% Terran, and 23% Zerg. That's out of a statistical sample size of 920 tournament games in 2024, and Protoss has had a massive lead in tournaments every year since 2020. On the ladder, Protoss has also had a leading win rate against Zerg in 40 of the past 41 months, as well as a leading win rate against Terran in 7 of the past 8 months. But yeah, let's all keep pretending Terran has some kind of egregious imbalance! 🤷♂🤦♂ Simply mind-boggling...
We would need to consider the amount of time needed to mine and transport the minerals necessary for the suit...I would imagine even 50 minerals would probably be quite a bit
Is it just me or is the secret to "balancing" the Zerg just to make sure they have god awfull Ground to Air. Even their Air to Air isn't great but if you want to defend your self from air attacks or punish medivacs your option is Queen pool noodles or glass canon Hydras that need two upgrades to become decent.
I'm not sure there's an argument for Zerg having "god-awful" STA (surface-to-air) capabilities. In the early game, Queens and Spore Crawlers are a fantastic counter to air units. Both of them are durable, mobile, versatile (Queen does tons of stuff and Spore also grants detection), and have respectable DPS and range. Mid game, Hydras provide significant firepower but you have to pick your battles. They have respectable DPS, range, and movement speed for their resource+supply costs, and can be paired with Queens for additional durability via Transfusions. But no, you don't get to just ape into an off-creep battle, if that's what you're hoping for. 🤦♂ For that, you need late-game units such as the ATA solutions which I won't address because it's not part of your complaint, but the late game also offers one of the most busted STA Zerg units which is Infestors. One single fungal growth can be game-ending, even from a losing position. It hits both air and ground units and it has a long cast range, rapid projectile movement speed, and respectable damage and AOE range. And in the case of "denser" enemy comps with heavy hitters, the strategic use of Neural Parasites is obviously an option. So with all that said, I don't see how you can so categorically disparage the STA capabilities of Zerg. What do you want, Brutalisks? 😂
