With UPI, India has done something that the developed world hasn’t. From grocery to electronics, Indians pay it in split seconds through UPI. The amount is immediately credited to the seller’s bank account. Indians have stopped visiting Banks as there is no cash to be handled. With the time saved in payments, even a small time tea seller has doubled his daily sale owing to lesser time wasted. UPI is helping the economy grow faster. No wonder India’s GDP is counted amongst the fastest growing in the world.
You just have to find a way to enable this for foreigners and travellers too, the system is awesome 👌 it‘s similar to our „Twint“ in Switzerland just on a much larger scale.
France, Bhutan, Nepal, Malaysia,Oman,Sri Lanka and the United Kingdom Are some countries who have already adopted this system (Rupay) Talks are in progress with other countries .
@@Siturambo yea many countries have them actually and paralelly developed with the system in india. I meant, if you are traveling india as a foreigner, it's not possible to use the system without a permanent indian recidency from what i konw thus is would be good to have a solution there as many foreign credit cards are not accepted everywhere and ATM's a bit rare imo.
@@binskee677 Yes in UPI 2.0 they are testing the features to add credit card to UPI along with an offline app & transaction by calling (won't need smartphones), which will go live for all mostly in 1st quarter 2023. For foreigners to link their bank account will need UPI to be accepted by their country, so they are working on that. For time being I think most UPI vendor aap are providing wallet , But I think they should start a online secure bank for foreigners (where they can transfer some fund to that bank after getting a Indian SIM & use it hassle-free)
@@Siturambo I think addin a foreign credit card would be enough as most travellers have a credit card, but then i have to say we here already have a app where you can add your credit card, bank account or load it with money like pre payed card since years (it's called TWINT) and you can pay with a QR Code and send money to friend via phone number instantly. Paying via calling would be something new but i cannot image in a usecase where i would use that unless for people who don't have a smartphone. Is UPI linked to your mobile sim? maybe i don't fully understand yet how it works, but whats really impressive is the implementation of such a solution on such large scale!
@@binskee677 Actually authentication happens via your sim. If the sim is linked to the bank number, once you login it will automatically detect/load all bank accounts & credit card linked to that sim. In today's scenario , if a vendor says he doesn't accept online payment UPI, PAYTM, PHONEPE ,GOOGLEPAY he sees gradual reduction in customer at his shop . People avoid visiting that shop . Now it becomes necessity for vendors to immediately adopt digital payment system otherwise they will lose their significant customers
When I talk to my friends from the States and tell them about the digitalisation of everything that we have in India be it our driving Licence, PAN, paying bills, that amazes them pretty much.
Now when you go out with friends none of them can give the excuse "forgot my wallet at home" 🤣 Edit - It's pretty rare that in today's time anyone will go out without their phone & if they lie about bank balance (Ask "show balance", if they keep zero balance all the time cut ties with them 😂😋)
While Congress wasted 1000 crores and left a crappy Aadhar software platform which is down most of the time, BJP bossed it with the UPI which actually changed the lives of poor businessmen. From small grinding mills to tiny kirana shops, all get their money via digital instead of the losses they made with liquid cash.
There is a thing called offline UPI, you just need to msg a no. with a unique ID and the amount. The no. from where you are sending the money should have been linked to your bank a/c. Even if you do not have internet you can just use the network tower to do the transaction thats pretty amazing itself.
Don't remember using cash in last 5 years. I went to Europe a couple of times and was surprised to see people waiting in queues at supermarkets to pay cash. It was inconvenient to carry and took longer to settle.
I got graduated in 2017. It was the year when I got my first job and every shop/store has been embracing UPI. I never went to a bank in my life (expect on the first day when banks came to us for account opening) or carried any cash. I just use UPI all the time in day to day activities. That was my life style. Then I shifted to Toronto, Canada. I feel like I went past in time using cards and cash. So slow process and feel like India is living in future.
It's not only chip, it's gives us cashback 😉 Feeling bad for those people who are not able to use such simple and advance payment system even today. We don't need to carry cards or cash in India 🇮🇳
We have a festival in Kerala called Vishu (similar to Bihu in Assam) and one local custom is handing currency notes to children and young ones in the family and friends circle. Nowadays some people have started using UPI, instead. No going to be Bank to get lower denomination notes, etc. Even at the Petrol Bunk, if the bill comes to say 791.57, we can pay the exact amount. It is so convenient. I would not be surprised in the future when beggars and those wanting handouts start flaunting their personal QR codes.
@@Dubey1210 new patch update will allow users to directly pay using to any customers using UPI offline but it has a daily limit. the patch is in the testing phase and will soon be released FYI
Let’s accept the fact that it is not easy to find smaller notes and coins these days. Most ATMs are either out of cash or under service/maintenance or they dispense only bigger notes and most shops do not have enough change left because almost everyone prefers UPI/debit/credit transaction. UPI transactions are almost hassle free (except where there is no internet reception).
i am doing my 95% transactions through UPI itself, there are ages some times when i use cash. thanks to digital india and jio which makes internet so cheaper.
Even here in Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Part of indian Union Territory almost 90% of all transactions take place through UPI. I dont have to worry about carrying cash when i step out of my house. The transaction is free of cost, fast, simple to understand, and doesn't require fast internet connections. UPI was an absolute chad move by the indian government :)

Payment from Sender to Receiver’s account in just Seconds, 24X7, safe & without even an extra penny as transaction charges! Great Work India! I heard now they are working on similar facility for Credit Cards payments also!!!!
And the crazy part is India did this digital revolution much before many of the biggest weatern economies like the US, Germany, UK etc. UPI indeed revolutionized the digital payment system in India and I am fucking proud about it🇮🇳🇮🇳
My expense ratio in a month of UPI vs cash is 95:5. Sometimes even less cash. And, yeah, when I look back to, say, 2014 or 2015, it feels like looking 2-3 decades back. Jio and UPI (and, of course, PM Modi) changed India forever ; in the right way.

France, Bhutan, Nepal, Malaysia,Oman,Sri Lanka and the United Kingdom
Are some countries who have already adopted this system (Rupay)
Talks are in progress with other countries .
You won't have to enter any details , while paying you can use your card pin .
The offline function is mostly for place where there is Network issue (e.g. on a trek to a mountain) & for rural areas.
It's been 2 years since I started using UPI,and for almost 1 year i touched paper money and never visited any any ATM, it's free of cost, fast, reliable, and safe... thanks to our government and especially our beloved Modi ji... long live to my country India 🇮🇳🇮🇳🇮🇳🇮🇳🇮🇳

Hello everyone is connected with internet in India don't worry voice of America we will try to provide you affordable internet in coming years don't worry
i didn't use atm or cards from last 2 years. all transaction are done on UPI apps 😀😀

Fun fact 😅 we forgot debit card number in last two years and not used cash only using upi payment to make every type payments
Yea..I used memorize all my 4 debit cards.. Digital India making me kinda dumber. My devices are doing that for me now.😄
Don't remember using cash in last 5 years.
It's not only chip, it's gives us cashback 😉
Feeling bad for those people who are not able to use such simple and advance payment system even today.
We don't need to carry cards or cash in India 🇮🇳
It's very old now for us Indians seems like other countries are now getting to know about this this after so many years
We have a festival in Kerala called Vishu (similar to Bihu in Assam) and one local custom is handing currency notes to children and young ones in the family and friends circle.
I never thought that we have this much growth in short period ❤ what a change - cashless india

What i love, is zero transaction fees. Even rupee cards are like that
Let’s accept the fact that it is not easy to find smaller notes and coins these days. Most ATMs are either out of cash or under service/maintenance or they dispense only bigger notes and most shops do not have enough change left because almost everyone prefers UPI/debit/credit transaction. UPI transactions are almost hassle free (except where there is no internet reception).

Even here in Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Part of indian Union Territory almost 90% of all transactions take place through UPI. I dont have to worry about carrying cash when i step out of my house.
