    I had a friend at a Infiniti dealer nearby that had a nice older i30 that he got from a customer super cheap because the mount failed and leaked all over the motor and backfed power, that ended up shorting out the ECU.
    I was a Nissan tech for 2 years. I even went to some Nissan schooling and we never went over this or even brought it up. Thanks for the lesson!

    That was awesome AND thorough..I never thought I'd find a video explaining the workings of that particular engine mount..thank you so much for all the hard work and energy expended to educate someone like myself and others who are interested in how stuff works..thank you sir..already changed the passenger side (upper mount) 2007 Murano ..the other three will be worked on in about two weeks..actually we removed the transmission mount and when we tried installing the new one we bought from Autozone the holes did not line up with the mounting stud bolts on the chassis..ended up popping the old one back in...will be doing it all over again in two weeks..

    amazing....thanks so much for doing this. Very detailed and explains what the sensor does - dampens it to stiff or not with the idle speed. great work!

    Thank you for your video, I just bought a 2013 Nissan Quest. We had to sell a 2015 Quest due to hail damage, and I noticed the 2013 is a little louder when in idle. I was worried that the engine might had something wrong. I just checked the engine mounts and they are bad, will be replacing soon, thank you 🙏 for posting this video

    I replaced the motor mounts with a set I bought online. I noticed the electric module was loose and the wire was routed through the mount which didn't allow the connector to plug in, so I removed it. Upon removal the new module and mount did not have any interconnection like the one you are dissecting. There is no blade that rotates and the motor mount is solid metal where you show a slot. Are the new mounts that come with a wire connector simply dummies?

    Thanks for the video. My rear electric engine mount on my 2000 Maxima SE was making the cranking noise that occurred when you attached the 12V to the blue and yellow. This happened to me while the vehicle was completely OFF. Yes, no key in the ignition and the car in park. A local shop disconnected the wiring to the mount. I am going to monitor performance now. Just didn't want my battery dying due to the mount continuing to pull power from the battery when the car was off. Do you think performance will be noticeably different?

    • @slooob23
      @slooob23 3 роки тому

      Keep it disconnected and disconnect the other one as well, these mounts short out and fry the car computer on the A33 maxima due to Nissan not circuit protecting the ecm from the failed mount.

    Just a warning before installing motor mounts and sensors take the sensors off two screws... I purchased several motor mounts from different sellers that had hollowed out sensors and no slot on motor mount if it was not for the fact the wire for my rear sensor was shorter on the replacement I would have installed a non electric motor mount on my vehicle!

    Awesome video. You do great work! Thanks a million. Would you consider doing a video on changing the Rear Mount. Also, looks like the Rears on these are "manual" but I bought electronic. You think it matters? Thanks again.

    • @dial2fast
      @dial2fast  7 років тому

      I checked the rear mount on my van and it actually looks good. Seems the make wear on these mounts is the front and passenger side. I did look into the steps in changing the rear mount and it's a total pain is you are trying to do it with jack stands. Think you have to cut off one of the bolt to remove the old one. If you bought passive mounts, they will work fine.

    • @7thsight032
      @7thsight032 7 років тому +1

      Thanks a billion for the super quick response. I honestly didn't anticipate it. I finally changed out my rear and tranny mounts. They were a BUSTED MESS! interesting enough, by mere eyeball inspection, they looked alright...but the drive always told me different. So you might wanna take a even closer look at yours but I gotta tell ya...them things are a booger to take out. Took us 3 days. Maybe it's just us :).....oh also, I just went on ahead and put in the electronic rear mount and left the cord dangling. Couldnt find anywhere to plug it. Thanks again

  • @fixpro256

    Did you cut open the rubber part to see where the valve was going? I am curious if there was an air chamber or just a fluid filled cavity that the valve was cutting off access to.

    • @dial2fast
      @dial2fast  8 років тому +1

      +fixpro256 Unfortunately, the engine mount I showed, it has already failed for quite a few years. By the time I pulled that center part out, there was nothing left inside. From the research I have done, the NIssan mount is filled with a fluid when new. Also spoke to someone at Nissan dealer service dept and he said it's fluid filled.

    Very interesting and informative video! I have to replace the front mount in my 02 Maxima GLE, and am trying to decide on the fluid filled (electronic) vs standard mount. Standard mount is cheaper of course, and there are cheaper electronic OEM alternatives as well. BUT I did find the genuine Nissan OEM mount for $100 shipped, so i am considering going with that. My question is, if this is an older OEM part that's been sitting on the shelf for awhile (perhaps years) would the fluid (or the housing) even still be any good?

      I know for the Nissan Quest, some people replaced it with a non electric mount and there was no check engine light. I am not sure if a traditional mount will have that much more engine vibration or is very little difference.

    Great video!
    This system is an absolute joke! Does Nissan really think this really changes the stiffness of the mount? All it is doing is splashing a little fluid around when it rotates. Think about the weight of the engine sitting on the mount. That low powered motor that rotates that valve is no where near powerful enough to lift the weight of the engine. This system is nothing but a money grab for Nissan. This mount costed me $265 when I needed to replace mine.
