I really appreciate that you took the time to explain step by step the process of tackling this job. You have no idea on the relief and ability you have given to those who are not understanding on some of these issues. Thank you and many blessings. Stay Safe
Glad you found this video to be helpful. Thank you for sharing your experience!
how sweet! you just saved me a significant amount fee for a mechanic, where you have showed how doable this is for a simple car owner. Thanks a lot!
Your 12 year old car looks brand new! Beautiful!!
Always enjoy you excellent videos.
Roy
+Roy Lewis Thank you Roy for your comment!
Normally don’t post on here but completed these replace, ents this weekend. Could not have done it without these videos. Great tool to have, thank you.
Very good to hear. Thanks for sharing!
Step by step, u show every thing. U sir are a blessing keep doing what your doing!
Thanks dial2fast! I deeply appreciate how you make sure everything is well explained and well visible in your videos. Can't say the same for a lot of others, but I give them thumbs up for their efforts anyway. Thanks again! Gary w.
hey brother thanks from Georgia where I just installed a new mount on an 06 Murano. big fan of your videos!
thanks for having the torque specs in the video. I wish all of the UA-cam mechanics would add that info into their video.
The production values and attention you give to the fine details of this R&R are five star.
I have often cursed the design and placement of components in newer vehicles, including my 1998 Toyota Sienna SE, with it's 185,000 miles.
Is there special attention given by designers and engineers to the way mechanics are instructed in how to repair 'harried' components?
Thanks again!
Roy
the old saying went: if the designers had to work on their cars, there would be a food of clearance between each part and they would never have to go under the car.....of course your engine compartment would be the size of locomotive!
Great video, i am bout to replace the motor mounts on my 2006 Nissan Altima and this video is going to be really helpful; thanks again!
Awesome! High quality video, great presentation skill and very comfortable by listening the way you present it. I just finished mine, I replaced the top right and bottom front; parts for both under 100 dollars. The dealer asks for 850.00 for both, and Pep Boys asks for 600.00 for both. Besides am saving lot of money, but at the same time I really enjoying it fixing my own car. Keep up your nice work and will WATCHING you again... LOL Many thanks.
+Bigfathand Really good to hear you got yours done and saved some money. Glad my video was helpful. Cheers!!
Very helpful as always. Mine was complicated by the fact that the front body-side bolt pulled out the threads from the body with it, requiring some drilling and fishing a bolt through from the bottom of the frame rail. Also, the Anchor brand that I purchased was not drilled properly and the bolt (middle) on the engine side did not line up with the threads. It was offset by around 2-3mm.
thanks for making these videos, helps me work on my own quest!
+d0yougetme Happy to have helped!
Hello from Brisbane, Australia! Thanks for your video instruction which was tremendously helpful. I was able to get this job done in about 1.5 hours with only a little problem with the the bottom nut on the engine side. Thanks and I look forward to seeing new videos from you.
Appreciate you sharing your experience (from Australia). Glad to hear the video was helpful!
Ok this is a job for my mechanic lol. I just don't have the tools. Excellent video by the way and excellent explanation.
excellent video dial2fast have a good day greetings from Anaheim california
Thank you from Georgia!
Thank you. Extremely helpful.
Good job, sir. You're inspiring confidence in me being able to tackle these types of repairs.
+Mark Wegner My tip would be: 1) do your research on the job ahead of time 2) make sure you have the right tools 3) safety always comes first 4) take your time and be organized. Have fun!
+dial2fast 10-4.
Excellent video it was very helpful Thanks for your effort. Respect from Perth Australia✊
Thanks for the video. Helped alot.
Tank you for showing how we can do that
Really good video.
Good, clear video.Thanks.
Excellent job and video. I have to do mine next week. Appreciate your help Buddy.
Thanks for your comment!
I have 2011 nissan xterra 4.0l v6 is it a similar process for replacing engine mounts?
It is really a great video. Do you have a video for replacing the rear engine mount for Nissan quest as well? If not. Small advise.
Your video work was good on this, thx.
THANK YOU SIR. FANTASTIC DETAIL.
Thanks for your comment!
Hello Sir, Can you give me the length deep size use to remove number 14mm lug nuts both side where located on the engine motor?
Will this work on a 2003 Nissan Altima SE 3.5L???
Nice work and good explanation of the job but I was looking for the rear motor mount replacement for this engine.
The rear one is horrible to do. If you are using jack stands, there is so little room underneath and it requires you to cut one if the mount bolt to get it out.
I wanted to ask if the motormount are bad could be a possibility that the car would leak taking a turn only on high way high speed.
Great video!! Thanks!
Hey sir I would really appreciate if you could take some of your time to help me out as in I’m struggling with this part rn .. when I put the new engine mount on place it wiggles it does not sits like a two pieces of a puzzle.. anyways you see the nut that you have to tight from underneath the part of the rod that it’s treaded doesnt make it to the other side . Meaning I can not use the nut and tight it up .. and I’m saying I already put pressure on top with my had so that side sits completely flat so the rod sod should show more from underneath and it still doesn’t ! So I can’t tight it up with the nut .. and even when alot effort I manage to do 3 rotations on the nut .. when I put the nut on the top part and tight it down it lifts the mount from that other side and drops the nut that I tight from underneath. Idk what to do
Great Video! I never saw the reason why you removed the tire/wheel and the splash shield. I watched the video twice, but couldn't figure out a reason. Otherwise, everything was to point and concise. Thanks for making this. =)
For the removal and reinstall of the nut underneath. With the wheel and splash shield removed, it makes the job much easier.
He removed a bolt from underneath behind the shield
Excellent video. Thanks!
One thing that what would be helpful would be to state how long the job took you to do and how that number compares to what is quoted out of the flat-rate manual.
Terrific video. Thank you very much!!!
Thanks for your comment!
Thank you for the video👍👍👍
Is this procedure the same for a 2002 Maxima?
Awesome video. Thanks a lot.
I admire "all" of your videos..
Do you got to replace both or just the one
do you know the torque specs for the 2.5l engine?
Beware that the clunk when going over bumps is oftentimes an engine mount, but it can also be the strut brace under the cowl. My mom's Nissan Altima 3.5SE had loose strut brace bolts. Apparently, this is a common issue. It's kind of dumb that these would loosen over time.
DIY Apprentice I’m telling you ! I think one of mines either stripped or broken mines are brand new I had been driving and I started noticing that clunking noise again so I jacked the car up one day and checked everything on the suspension with a torque wrench and when I got to the strut towers 1 screw on each strut tower was spinning and wouldn’t get tight so I came to the conclusion that either they were stripped or broken and I contacted the parts place for a warranty exchange!
hi i have the same van, can you please do a video on how to replace the trans mount and the back engine mount since you already did the two front? there is 4 engine mounts
Yes this car has 4 mounts. Changing the right and front mount made a huge different in the ride.
Like a new car again. I bought the left mount but won't be replacing it
any time soon as I don't have time right now. The rear mount is going to be pain to do with floor
jacks. I am also holding off on that one for now. Thanks
Great job
como se cambia soporte de motor el de atras de una Nissan quest 2004.
Where did you place the jack to lift the motor up to align the new bushing holes?
I can't remember exactly, but you use a piece of wood under it so you don't damage anything. There are 3 other mounts holding the engine, so the jack only has to lift it up slightly.
having the same problem with my quest are you going to replace any other mounts? I saw that you did do the front one.
+Mike Thompson Changing the right and front mount made a huge different in the ride. Like a new car again. I bought the left mount but won't be replacing it any time soon. The rear mount is going to be pain to do with floor jacks. I am also holding off on that one for now.
Nice Video
I had to replace my 2002 Altima's left mount. After a year I started having the same issue, so I then had to replace all 4 mounts. this is very common in Nissan cars.
If two were worn and you only replace one, the new one will become worn prematurely.
just a request, can you do video on bleeding brakes?
+Zain Abidin I will try to find time later to do the video. Thanks!
As everyone on this thread has said - this is a truly excellent video of how to replace the front engine mount. The part you mentioned 11210-8j100, the link asked me for my make and model Maxima 2003 - V6 GLE and it said that it will not fit. Is there another one that will work for my car? BTW need to replace both the front & right engine mounts.
To be 100% certain to get the correct one, I recommend you calling your local NIssan dealer, and ask to speak to someone in the parts department (not service dept). The people in parts dept will tell you which part you should be using.
@@dial2fast Good advice - they asked me for my VIN and based on that they gave me the part(s) #'s. Should be the exact fit. Thanks again!
Heads up...Nissan sources their motor mounts from DEA...if you look at DEA p/n A7348, it would state "OEM". Nissan does not manufactuer these parts, they source them, just like Hitachi, and Calsonic, etc, all those parts that are in your Nissan. This part is under $20 + S/H from Rock Auto :D
Rock auto junk only last a year
Parts like motor mounts only last me 1.5 years
How many mounts like this are there on the 3.5, are you going to make a video for each one
+Steven Thorkelsen There are 4 mounts on this engine. Right, Left, Front and Rear. At this time, I will only do 2 videos, the Front and the Right. These are also the two most common ones that need replacing. If I need to replace the other ones, then I will do a video later.
Hablas español? Los puedo comprar por eBay, son confiables?
Is there a different jack point to lift the engine at? I'm a bit weary of damaging the oil pan by lifting/jacking the engine by way of oil pan.
+slade781 You don't really have much of a choice, unless you want to use an engine hoist from the top. By placing a large block of wood it will distribute the weight and absorb the sharp points on the oil pan. Also, remember you are not supporting the whole engine, as it is still being balance by the transmission, and other mounts.
+jewllake Thanks for responding!!
👍👍
Dose a 04 and 05 maxmia mount down the same
Yes it's the same procedure.
just changed another one you dont need to remove fuse box just overflow container . that all only took 35mins.
Can you just put the car on a ramp? Also can you do it without removing the tire?
Can you just put the car on a ramp? Also can you do it without replacing the tire
How can you find the exact engine mount you need? I have a 2006 Nissan Maxima SE.
+Marta Barriga Most places that sell parts (including Ebay) will have a compatibility chart you can look up. Or buy it from dealer and give them the VIN to make sure 100% correct.
dial2fast ok thank you!
Do you have the rear mount removal!?
Sorry I dont. I believe you need to cut off a bolt on the mount to get it out. The rear one is a pain to do especially if you are doing it using jack stands.
@@dial2fast yes that's my situation right now but thanks for answering!!!
how long does it take to fix
With all the tools on hand, it will take no more than 2 hrs.
In my opinion, Nissan OE parts are not worth the extra money.
