strongly soulful handling of this so very soulful classic and, gad zukes!, those harp solos!!! Lord have mercy, what a gift, and so very glad you keep manifesting (working/playing/practicing) it. For obvious reasons, yet by surprise, it swept me back to my very first encounter (via youtube) with your work, running into Driftin' by accident, saying "what the heck!", and then finding your amazing, among other works, Broken Toy, I guess a 2010 performance. I think when God gives someone the gift of genius in their lives, it's like handing them a highly radioactive chunk of uranium ore. To be able to continue with it, rather than having it kill you, is a very very amazing thing. Just went back and watched that performance of your "Broken Toy" again, and also that early Driftin' piece. Good heavens.
One of my favorite songs, thank you Jason! Maybe you could explain in one of your freefridays what you are doïng, in general, from 5:15 and further. I love your vidéos (UA-cam and Patreon), but when I hear you playing I am totally lost ;-)
My Buddy Jason does it again, brings an old one back from the grave and of course does not pussyfoot around...he sounds great, and the band sounds great. Thank you for bringing back one of my favorite pieces of Da Blues and breathing fire into it. Also I would like to know what key we are in ? Thank you, Will
Great performance. And thanks for putting the harp and position in the note. Now I know where to begin getting lost when I try to learn bits and pieces of this.
He's always pushing the envelope,For different traditional song with his twist on his unique style 👌 of blues an Jazz gerne,it's so clean it's just refreshing to have his sound.
Love this!! This is one of my favourite songs. I play a stripped down version on my acoustic. Keep meaning to write some harmonica parts, but am not quite at the strumming, blowing and singing stage!! Will get there with practice hopefully
He's a very Talented guy who loves his instrument for his own life ❤ Experience that's what's so important for his Work in music to be applauded an supportive for his own impact on our blues,An thee legendary song that's he's chosen ❤
Very soulful man! (But what happened to old joe’s bar room?). I always liked that verse because I have a brother Joe who would definitely be among the usual crowd that was there...
It’s usually the first vocal verse, it goes something like... I went down to old Joe’s bar room, on the corner of the square. They were serving up drinks as usual, and the usual crowd was there. On my left stood old Joe McHenry, his eyes were bloodshot red. And when he turned to face the people these were the very last words he said. ..... Arlo Guthrie has a great version, but no kick ass harp. God bless you man! I have loved your videos for years :)
Fantastic singer and performer should have a billion views.
The harp, the raw vocals, the whole band - put me in a helluva good mood. I love this!

Thanks my brother! Key of Cm on a Bb harp (3rd Position)
Amazing the notes you get on a diatonic, esp. that gypsy minor sound. Vocal sounds a bit like Jim Morrison.
Oh I love you, man!😎
Dig the improv on the lyrics. So soulful.
Thank YOU ❤️

Always a privilege to see you perform, Jason! Just tell me, is that sign about explosives in reference to your voice and harp playing?
