I also agree with those saying this video format was awesome really would love to see content like this in the future new verses current favorites or new verse old comparisons.
I also like it, and really your entire makeup look here. I'm not a fan of peach or coral colors on my skin - I stick with cool pinks - but you can wear them!
I use the La Roche Posay Effaclar line for my skincare, been using them for years. I was excited to see them come out with a cleansing oil, I was using the First Aid Beauty one based off of your recommendation, and love how my skin feels afterwards. If I can get the same effect with La Roche Posay then I definitely need to try it. Thanks for always keeping us updated on the products you have been using, and finding better ones too, I am always thankful for your recommendations.
I couldn’t finish a bottle of AmLactin. I’m so there with you on the smell, and it felt sticky. I switched to Drunk Elephant TLC Glycolic body lotion, it’s fast absorbing and skin feels immediately softer and smoother. I alternate with Versed Retinol body lotion. The INNBeauty looks intriguing with the additional acids, will have to try it. Thanks!
Really love your makeup look in this video! What I enjoy most about you is your complete honesty at all times so don’t let people that don’t know you get you down some people are just jealous of your great genes!!! Next is that you wear many different colors most influencers that I watch just use the same colors all the time like orange or brown so every lipstick every eyeshadow is different company but same look. I want to see the array like you do so I can see many colors on skin. You are just refreshing I can’t get enough 😊. Please continue just being you.
Thanks for letting us know that your hair didn't get stuck to your lips with the Summer Fridays lip balm! I wish that you'd do an entire video spotlighting lip products like that! 💋
Hello Jen. I have been using the La Roche Posay cleansing oil and have really been enjoying it. The price is right and it’s huge. I still like doing a double cleanse however because I use lots of spf, primer, foundation… the works.
Hi Jen! In regards to the perfume not lasting, I just yesterday read that if you apply a light layer of Vaseline to your pulse points then layer the perfume on top of that it helps the scent last longer 😊
I LOVE Am Lactin - Costco has the best price 20oz bottle for $17-$18 and they run it on sale all the time for $11-12. My favorite Am Lactin lotion is by far the Rapid Relief - 15% lactic acid with ceramides. Gold Bond also has a retinol face and body lotion that comes in a 7 ounce tube - it’s kind of thick but melts into the skin. ❤.
Exclamation! Is such a good scent! That and Electric Youth by Debbie Gibson. Does anyone remember Aspen? They had it for women and men. I love the 80s & 90s references as well. This is such a cool community to be a part of !
Hey Jen! I loved GXVE contour and bronzer formula but that smell was horrible. I had to toss it out. If it didn't have that baby powder smell, it would be a staple of mine :( I hope it will eventually be reformulated to unscented in the future.
Love your necklace Jen! Glad to hear about the Milani Make it Last setting spray. I will try that next. With regards to Amlactin, yes it doesn't smell great but look at what Dr. Dray on UA-cam says about how it helps with skin thinning for us older ladies. I use it on my arms and legs so the smell doesn't really bother me as it is far away from my nose!!!
Oh my goodness! I love the give blush. It's like the old CoverGirl blushes, only in bigger pans. I have been waiting for CoverGirl to do this. Thanks Give
Hi Jen. Could we get a tutorial on the Smokey eye you’re wearing in this video? It looks beautiful. I have hooded eyes and can’t never make the Smokey eye to look good.❤
Sounds like some of the higher priced items aren't giving much bang for the buck. Thank you for your honest assessments. Almost forgot! I bought the Provence Beauty lip oil in pomegranate and apricot at Ulta, and I love it. It doesn't smell much, but it tastes incredible and it's really glossy. You might not like the texture, but my old lady lips were very happy. Beautiful peach color, too.
I feel the same way about the lip oils right now. I am almost wanting a matte finish ! Your eyeshadow look is really gorgeous in this video. Would you ever consider doing a tutorial ? My eyelids are dry as well.
I love the Skylar Boardwalk Delight spray Jen. I do find I have to spray a lot including lightly on my clothes but it is the quintessential summer scent. I’m wearing it all summer so far!
Jen after you explained how the skylar perfume smelled I had to pause, jumped over to sephora, immediatly added to cart, got a great Summer Fridays extra bonus + a couple of additional perfume samples, went to Rakatun - sephora is 5% cash back right now, so basically I feel like I got the fragrance for free with all the extras, lol. All I know is...I want to smell like an ice cream shop + suntan lotion + cotton candy + sea air...yes please! Immediatly :)
I completely agree with you on the comparison of the CT & Milani setting spray. I still have a mini left of the CT but I just bought another jumbo of the Milani and it gives me the same longevity that the CT gives.
Catching up on your videos 😊 your hair, make-up and shirt color choice look great! I've noticed as I've gotten older fragrances can cause headaches and nausea now. The sephora shadow sticks are my favorite too. I've had high end and low end and think these are the best. Please keep these types/content of videos coming😊
Thank you, Jen for sharing. I really like your recommendations because i also have dry skin. I have made a list of items to try when I run out of my current products.
I got the boardwalk roller ball perfume too. I was hoping for more of a cotton candy scent, but for some reason it smells more like bubblegum on me which I’m not crazy about. I am the same way, I am really sensitive to perfumes and need the hypoallergenic ones. So happy that there are a lot on the market now.
Hi Jen! You might like a body lotion from Alpha, with 12% AHA. I heard about it from Angie Hot and Flashy. It’s great! So smoothing and no bad smell like the Amlactin. ❤
Re: lasting makeup in summer. Bona Fide dry skin girl here, and I live in 85%+ humidity 95° Virginia. Every foundation was sliding off my face- even Estee Lauder Double Wear. Pulled out my trusty Hard Candy Glamoflauge, and DANG that stuff is bullet proof. Makeup in tact, even after a sweaty day of being out in the yard or the warehouse. I pair it with Too Faced Hangover RX, and literally, everything stays put. Side note, go light- it's super full coverage, so a little goes a loooong way. Shade range is legitimately awful, and it looks heavy in the winter on my super dry skin, but man. Why on earth did I ever stop wearing this in the summer? Headed to Orlando on vacation next week, and I'm not worried about looking wretched now, lol.
The Hourglass mascara is my favorite! I already have long, thick lashes but they are so light that they are practically clear…this mascara works so well for me. I’m excited to try the Sephora eyeshadow sticks the next time they are on sale.
This is great! I have the vanishing blush situation with the Merit one. Love the color, easy to blend... and pretty much gone before I'm done with my makeup. Looking for that longer-wearing matte/natural cream blush, so I'll try Colour Pop!
I usually love the LaRoche products in the Lipicar line. I use the Effaclar mattifying gel at night only on my T zone- it has made my pores very very small- without dryness. Love that shade of green Jen! Looks fabulous on you 😍
I used the hourglass mascara first but bought the Milani on your suggestion. It's way better like you said and also the tube is so much lighter. It's not a big deal but if you're traveling every once that you pack matters
Thank you for always keeping it real. I have been going back and forth with wanting the rare beauty shadow sticks…but now I will try the Sephora shadow sticks!!
Yes!! I think they either fixed the formula, or maybe all of the tubes that have been sitting on the shelf for a while dried out a little bit and aren't as goopy now.
La Roche-Posay has such great products. Their cleansers are great... never tried the one you mentioned but now I will. Also, their Hyalu B5 Serum and Toleraine Face Cream and Double Repair Moisturizer are so good especially if your skin is dry, sensitive or both. Their Toleriane Hydrating Gentle Face Wash is all I can use in the winter now. Thanks, Jen. Blessings!
Jen have you tried the ELF Blue Light setting spray? Its one of my fave setting sprays of all time. I've heard other people claim its a dupe for Urban Decay's All Nighter. I can't use the Milani one due to the fragrance in it. The ELF is fragrance free.
Jen, try using a topper over your Mario blushes that way maybe it won't feel like your doing double duty over your cream blush... your just adding a lovely blush topper.
So many of those "clean at Sephora" fragrances - or essentially ones that have less chemicals, I find are so much more enjoyable. I wouldn't really get exposed to those brands where I live, so I really appreciate them carrying those types of fragrances.
Always glad to see a video like this! As a longtime viewer I pretty much know what stuff you really like, so it’s nice to see how the newer stuff stacks up. Love your thorough, honest and thoughtful approach. I also appreciate that you cover a variety of price points.❤
Have you tried the Gold Bond Age Renew Retinol Overnight Body and Face Lotion? I use it at night on my body. It contains a retinol and peptide complex. Dr. Dray recommends it 😀
I am so glad you have discovered La Roche Posay's cleansing oil. La Roche Posay is such a good and solid brand ! I'm in love with the Lipikar line: I used to apply the balm as a daily body moisturizer and one day, because I had been a bit too heavy handed with my tretinoid, I used it on my face (hoping it wouldn't break me out because of its richness): it's been my all-around moisturizer ever since ! A jewel: effective and economical (and I love the texture) :) PS: for exfoliation, an other 2 in 1 solution to share : Glycolic Acid 7% Toning Solution from The Odinary on face and body ;)
Always love your spot on videos and research 💯❤️. I am going to try the Sephora pencils. Do you know of a good waterproof eyeliner and mascara for swimming?!! Ty Jen🥰
I love this kind of in with the new and out with the old comparison video. I am definitely going to check out Sephora's eyeshadow sticks! The one you have on looks gorgeous and the others were pretty and also pigmented. I have never tried the CT setting spray but I honestly didn't care for Milani's. Thanks for the heads up on the Mario blushes. That bums me out a little because they're so pretty.
Love your videos!! Question. I haven’t tried a tubing mascara- I’ve always used Lancôme and make thick lashes. But eye doctor said I had some mascara debris in my eyes- yikes. So thought I’d try tubing. Would Thrive ever give me lashes like Lancôme Hypnose Drama?
I have the CT & Milani Make It Last setting sprays. For me they both work well but the Milani makes my face too shiny and no amount of powder takes it away. I think they have a Matte formula-I usually stay away from matte but I might try that to see if I can get some balance. 😊
Hi sweetheart. I think the special thing about the Charlotte setting spray is that it doesn't contain any alcohol. I'm not sure about the milani one. Check it out. xoxo Love ya
As a girl who spends her summers at the Jersey Shore, I can't wait to smell that perfume. I feel like I need it now, your description was beyond enticing!
Thanks so much for this review and the comparisons of similar products! This is why I enjoy your videos so much. Definitely going to try that cleansing oil; sounds perfect for me. Those blushes and the bronzer also sound great! Have a great week🥰🥰🥰
It's weird that you can use the LRP as a cleansing oil (Makeup remover) since in the instructions say to use on wet skin 😅 I read of people using the Bioderma cleansing oil the same. Cerave actually came an oil cleanser but in the reviews people say is more like a gel cleanser.
Love this type of video🩷. I bought some of the Sephora eye pencils when you first mentioned them, and LOVE them! Glad to hear nothing newer can take their place. I am going to try those color pop blushes. They look so pretty. It was news to me about La Roche Posay cleansing oil! Love their products, so that is a must for me. Thank you for your continued information about make up. I truly trust your judgement over everyone else out there. Many influencers tell us how EVERY product is so wonderful, because they are promoting a paid sponsorship! Don’t trust them. I usually wait for your comparison before buying what others try to sell us! Once again, you looked beautiful today🌸🌸🌸😩💕.
I also bought the Inn Beauty body serum last week! However, I can't handle the smell at all. I think it is very strong. I almost wanted to return it for that reason. So it just goes to show that everyone's smell ability is different. But I do like how it performs so far.
I would like to hear your take on a Japanese brand called DHC! They were the first ever to come up with the cleansing oil (about 25 years ago)! It’s mostly online but now Ulta also carries some of its most popular items such as the cleansing oil! They specialize in skincare products and have mostly some sort of natural, plant derived ingredients! 😊❤❤
Hi Jen, love the video as always...I just purchased a sephora eye shadow stick I also love it!!! I really want to get the khaki one looks great on you!!! just love listening to you so soothing to the ears!!
You look so sunkissed and your eyelook goes great with your shirt! I have never tried anything from GIVE, but I so love these blushes, I might have to pick one up!💚
Everybody raves about the Thrive Cosm mascara but it is not my favorite bcause it is difficult to wash off (and I always do a second cleanse). 🤷♀️ Some have mentioned that it is impossible bcause it is. a friendly formula... The same happens with the Milani mascara, with the difference that it flakes on me throughout the day. At the moment, my holy grails mascaras are from Benefit and Tower 28.
Jen which of the new shades of honest beauty cream blush did you like the best cotton candy or lilac one? Im trying to decide which one to get. Im really fair with cool undertone.
They honestly looked the same on me, it was so hard to tell the difference! I would say the lilac one will probably pull the most cool toned since it's purple but it doesn't look much different once blended out.
@@JenPhelps I agree I thought they looked very similar. I think I'll go for cotton candy since I got hard candy cream blush in born yesterday because I think the hard candy has a little bit of a purple undertone to it. If u had your choice which one is your favorite?
I avoided creme complexion products for a long time since it was understood they needed to be set or "sandwiched" with their powder counterpart & that just seemed like adding an extra step to my makeup routine. But I decided to dip my toe in by starting affordable & trying the SS blush formula. I actually really like it & have the bronzer too. I also picked up the ELF putty bronzer (it looked like a good contour shade) & putty blush. If I'm wearing actual foundation I still prefer my go-to powder products but in the heat of the summer when I only wear sunscreen & concealer as my base, I like the ease of the creme blush/bronzer. These new CP matte creme blushes have shades I would like to have since the creme blushes I own currently are all very "nude." I would like a warm pink or coral shade (not too brown or orange) If I decide to purchase I will use your link :)
OMG! You gotta give the hourglass another chance- it is my ride or die- to me the Milani was a hard to control nightmare. I agree with you about the Milani setting spray!!!
I've been using the Hourglass for about a month now and I was hoping it would give me more length/volume when it dried out but it's still the same. 😥 The Milani one must have changed their formula because it's WAY less goopy and clumpy than it was in the beginning. Either that, or all the product sitting on the shelves for a while got more dried out...it's way different than it was in the beginning. I used to have to wipe a bunch of excess product from the brush but with the new tube I just got, I don't! :)
I need to sniff that perfume, I haven't been to the Jersey shore since I moved away from the mid-atlantic area where I grew up. I also associate the popcorn smell with the boardwalk, so many popcorn vendors! You should check out the perfume brand "By Rosie Jane" they have a scent Dulce which you would probably love. Sephora gave me a sample (instead of the sample I picked, which is always how it goes!) and it ended up being my favorite, I'll definitely get the full size. How does the Sephora eye crayon in Thistle compare to LM Caviar Stick in Amethyst or the Hard Candy stick in Pony? I'm wondering if it's a unique color, it sure is gorgeous!
Hi Jen, I have the Colourpop blushes too and love them. Now I would like some ice cream and the spray sound great. Anything that helps dry skin I am always happy to hear about so thank you very much Jen. I plan to check out the cleaning oil you showed us for removing makeup. This has been a very informative video with great reviews and I enjoyed it very much. Thank you so much Jen.❤💖💗🌸🌹🌺💐
Hi Jen, my favourite You Tuber who gives more info on the products she’s showing than anyone else! Thank you for a varied and detailed description of everything again. 🎉 I am definitely buying the Milani tubing mascara, it’s in my basket already at Beauty Bay, I think. 😆 I can’t buy the Thrive one here in the UK, so was thrilled to hear you mention the Milani one. Also, the blushers look lovely, the shimmer and matte duo’s. I love the Sephora cream stick eyeshadows, what fabulous colours. The Khaki one really suits you and I love the Heather shade, but unfortunately, they aren’t cruelty free so I can’t try them, but I can the Laura Mercier ones. 😃 In your last video, I couldn’t make a comment for some reason, the box wasn’t appearing and I really wanted to write something. You mentioned the awful, nasty comments people make about you, and I’m so ashamed that these so called human beings live on the same planet as we do! People like this need to be ignored Jen. I can imagine how upsetting and hurt it makes you feel, but these people are basically jealous! They also probably have a very boring life, and envy you so much because you are very successful on here, and are doing so well. If someone leaves you an insulting comment, just reply with a YAY! or a 👌🏻 or 🥳 Please try not to let them know they have upset you in any way, that’s their objective. Thank you for sharing this with us, I know there are way more people that love you, than those who are so nasty. You’ve been my favourite ever since you started, due to your lovely quietly spoken voice, the patience you have in the amount of content you put into each video, your sweet personality and humbleness. So, try not to read the negative comments, just laugh at their ignorance! 😂 take care xxx
This is so informative and wow- your makeup and hair color are fabulous! Thank you for always helping us to make more informed decisions. Separately, I hope you are doing well with your skin cancer recurrence. I’m sending you positive energy!
So excited to try the LaRoche Posay Gentle Foaming Cleansing Oil! That Tarte Bronzing Stick looks like a beautiful neutral shade. Thanks for the recommendations!
Anyone else get bummed when Jen says " So that's all I have for today"? 😅 I could listen to you for hours, Jen! 🤗
Aww thank you! :)
YES !!!!
I’ve been putting on her old playlists for my pregnancy naps! Her positivity and calm voice are just so soothing to me.
Yes!! I hate her videos to end😩😩😩
I wish all product reviews were done like this, compering the old with the new. Great video❤
I also agree with those saying this video format was awesome really would love to see content like this in the future new verses current favorites or new verse old comparisons.
Wow! Your eyeshadow look is stunning in this video! I can't believe it's the Sephora pencil! Love it!
Also love the Sephora pencils !!
🌷🌷🌷Your makeup looks amazing today! Great video, enjoy the new week! 🌷🌷🌷
Hi, it was really great to hear Penn Smith mention you in her video yesterday....I want to try the Skylar perfume ..sounds like scents I love. 😊
OMG she did? I'll have to go watch! 🥰
Is it wrong that I Googled "do they still make Exclamation perfume" as soon as you mentioned it?? I love it when you reference 80s/90s 😊😊😊
Haha I think they do!

A jewel: effective and economical (and I love the texture) :)
PS: for exfoliation, an other 2 in 1 solution to share : Glycolic Acid 7% Toning Solution from The Odinary on face and body ;)
I love the juvias place duos!! I need those Gxve!!!
I have the CT & Milani Make It Last setting sprays. For me they both work well but the Milani makes my face too shiny and no amount of powder takes it away. I think they have a Matte formula-I usually stay away from matte but I might try that to see if I can get some balance. 😊
Ah I have dry skin and the CT almost feels too dry for me, so I feel like the Milani is perfect!
Hi sweetheart. I think the special thing about the Charlotte setting spray is that it doesn't contain any alcohol. I'm not sure about the milani one. Check it out. xoxo Love ya
The Milani one does I believe but it has no fragrance and the CT does so I guess it's a toss up depending on your preference. 🥰
Jen, this is an informative video and you are classy, as always. Thanks so much, Gladys
Your hair and makeup is gorgeous!
It's weird that you can use the LRP as a cleansing oil (Makeup remover) since in the instructions say to use on wet skin 😅 I read of people using the Bioderma cleansing oil the same. Cerave actually came an oil cleanser but in the reviews people say is more like a gel cleanser.
I'm with you on the Milani Make It Last. It's as good as the one from Urban Decay.
Your makeup looks beautiful in this video. Nice smoky eye!
Jen I've finally replaced all of my old with new and literally have everything I need! Thank you for helping me restock!💐
I really like that cleaning oil but unfortunately it leaves a film and requires a double cleanse.
Hi Jen, love the video as always...I just purchased a sephora eye shadow stick I also love it!!! I really want to get the khaki one looks great on you!!! just love listening to you so soothing to the ears!!
Jersey shore(Wildwood) is my favorite time ...my memories are filled with it!!
Me too! I've been going since I was born!
I like this video format! Very helpful! And this light smokey eye looks stunning on you. 👍
Love the video. I bought the Sephora color stick eyeshadow and love it. Thanks for the recommendation. You are the best!!
Aw thank you so much! I think when creams set to a powder finish, I normally don't feel like I have to sandwich them with powder. :)
In your last video, I couldn’t make a comment for some reason, the box wasn’t appearing and I really wanted to write something. You mentioned the awful, nasty comments people make about you, and I’m so ashamed that these so called human beings live on the same planet as we do! People like this need to be ignored Jen. I can imagine how upsetting and hurt it makes you feel, but these people are basically jealous! They also probably have a
very boring life, and envy you so much because you are very successful on here, and are doing so well.
Aw thank you so much for the kind words!🥰🥰💗💗
@@JenPhelps thank you also for your reply 🥰💖 xxxx
I have the coulorpop blushes on order. 2 shades and a bronzer stick to try.
Love this video! So glad you re-reviewed the Rare Beauty eye sticks. I bought one but haven’t used it yet so back to Sephora it will go! ❤
Hi Jen, I love this video, you put so much information / choices in it for us,thank you for this ,I love your makeup as well. Love Katherine xoxo
This is so informative and wow- your makeup and hair color are fabulous! Thank you for always helping us to make more informed decisions. Separately, I hope you are doing well with your skin cancer recurrence. I’m sending you positive energy!
The closeup of your eyes ! Gosh Jen your iris is so mesmerising 💙
Really enjoy your channel Jen! Thank you.
So excited to try the LaRoche Posay Gentle Foaming Cleansing Oil! That Tarte Bronzing Stick looks like a beautiful neutral shade. Thanks for the recommendations!
I like the hydrating setting spray from Kokie. It’s a good product and doesn’t have that OBNOXIOUSLY SWEET SMELL of the Charlotte Tilbury.
