Great reaction to two of my favourite songs. It’s nice you picked out that bass counterpoint after Kanami’s solo in Choose Me. So many people completely miss it. The only problem with the Shibuya concert was Kanami was too low in the mix. One thing that would be cool attending a Band-Maid concert is not only would you feel exhausted after jumping and dancing but your cheeks would be sore from smiling so much! 😊 Merry Christmas.🎉
"Choose Me" -- a song featured in the Netflix original movie "KATE" as BAND MAID, has so many great RnR chops, it's kinda unbelievable. From Saiki's old-school phrasing, cadence and a super soulful vocal at the end; MISA's driving bass, her special riff after Kanami's brilliant, rocking main solo (complete with harmonic pinch), and her pulls at the end of the song that really funks it up with Akane's drumming; to Kanami's original composition, off-beat octave stretches during the verses, and her addition of a second uncomplicated yet super tasty solo; to Akane's unique snare & tom flurry that launches the choruses; and to Miku's octave-down, in & out vocal backup and lyrics... all makes "Choose Me" a throwback rocker that surprised me when I first heard it - and I'll bet most anyone - that they would come up with this western-style, rock 'n roll classic. Of course, after years later, it's not surprising at all coming from this important band of geniuses who are almost single-handedly bringing back the joys and soulfulness of rock for people from all places and ages to hear. Here's a great, better studio mixed MV of "Choose Me" that's more punchy: ua-cam.com/video/MZIJ2vFxu9Y/v-deo.html Thx, Cheez!
I 100% support Turn Me On. The solo is fantastic, but don't forget the tasteful back-and-forth between Kanami and MISA leading into the solo. The live version is here ua-cam.com/video/l9ibUQ-V-Z4/v-deo.html . It got the juicy extra intro (compared to the official version).
Band Maid manage to rock hard but still look relaxed and in control. Kanami manages some very complex riffs but never breaks into a sweat, just the happy, slightly goofy look and often the wounded seagull dance moves. Our dearest scruffy little genius maid Super talented band, super professional.
YES! The trade-off of all trade-offs! This fan-edited mix ua-cam.com/video/-PRRU-wQpeA/v-deo.html is pretty amazing. It seamlessly mixes several concerts, getting the 2020 extra intro in addition to the long bass/lead guitar section.
Dont forget to hit up 3 of their biggest MV's tho - warning, blooming, and daydreaming :) These 3 are MUSTS for music video reactions- so intersperse them with official lives maybe? onset or moratorium etc etc. There are even some AMAZING songs that dont have videos at all and you'll have to react to just music - like freezer and many more- but we will get to those :)
It's nice that you called them ladies. Too many reactors fans and others are still calling them "Girls". When they are all around 30. A little younger or a little older than that. Again keep up the good work !
Their ability to do call&response stuff is unique especially because Misa can play literally anything. You can find quite a few bands that have brilliant guitarists, drummers, singers. But bass players who can carry whole songs are very rare. Play is, I think, one of their first songs where they completely swap the traditional roles of the guitars and the bass for a full verse - bass is playing the melody, guitars are doing percussion. Since then, Miku improved a lot on the rhythm guitar, so there is even more room for this in the most recent songs. Up to the point of having the bass and the lead guitar playing seemingly unrelated meandering melodies over each other, only to come together when it is most effective. Most bands can't do that even if they wanted.
Cheezy mate! Greetings on another cold, crispy sunny day under a white Mount Fuji! Interestingly enough these tapes are already 4 years old and they have perfected their shows even more! Now, there is a big difference between live concerts held in Japan and the ones held during overseas tours. The Japanese live concerts are longer with 22~24 songs, although they seem to vary recently and include less "magic times with the audience" interludes. On the other hand, live concerts in Japan often feature longer songs with longer solos like in Play, and especially "Don't You Tell me" (a must reaction with Turn Me On and Take Me Higher!). An exception is No God which featured an added long instrumental introduction during their recent US tour gigs. Superb reaction as usual! Do not forget Daydreaming live official video! Best regards, Robert-Gilles

What you might like to do is to watch film clips from the different performances during their 2022 US tour. There's a lot of fancams, but there are also a lot of rather professional videos done by UA-cam reactors who were at multiple concerts across the country. I saw several of them at the show in NYC, Dicodec, The Gaijin Guys Ryan Mear and several others. I think you will enjoy hearing these songs live in small venues.
If you haven't done so, invest in a ticket for the Eggman Concert, short ticket valid 'til 31st Dec, long 'til 31 Jan. For me the great part about Play is that it was originally an instrumental, but Saiki said to Miku, "how about we get some lyrics for Play ??" Naturally, Miku says "Hell Yeah !", and the rest is, as they say, history.
@@Cheezyxyz Yeah, it's just so.....Band-Maid !!! Miku has a real touch with her lyrics and so does Saiki. But Akane, Kanami and Misa form such a great power trio. @@Cheezyxyz You have to see them live, it's even better than you could possibly imagine. I saw them twice on their US tour this year, once in NYC and once in New Jersey and it was amazing. I'll just point out that these two songs are from the same show and that this show, at Line Cube Shibuya on Feb 14, 2020, is still available on blu-ray from their webstore. A bit spendy and the shipping will make you go "what the...", but absolutely worth every penny.
I don't know if you have already done it, but you have to react to the official live video for Don't You Tell Me, it has the best tradeoffs of all of their songs. Kanami and Misa go at it like gangbusters. On so many of their songs, Kanami really does a lot of Southern rock style licks, like Gary Rossington of Lynyrd Skynyrd. If you can't find it in the resource channels, react to another reactor who dida video of it. It's worth it. For some dopey reason it has been taken off by UA-cam.

Great react. Absolutely 2 of my favorites. May I suggest: 1) Jazzy "Wonderland" (live) and power ballad "Daydreaming" (MV). A different side of Band Maid. 2) "About Us" (live) and "Endless Story." 2 of the most emotionally compelling Band Maid songs. Endless Story has a good MV, but I'd suggest a fan cam compilation from their 2022 tour ua-cam.com/video/ZkhMnchSZlE/v-deo.html. Crowd singing, tears flowing. It's terrific. 3) "Unleash!!!!!" (MV) and "After Life" (MV). Both are fairly driving songs, and the videos are very creative.

Hy They have lot of good old stuff as well. The Choose Me MV much better because of the mix of Kanami lead guitar work 😉 Some olde which probably you will enjoy 😉 : Secret My lips MV Secret Maiko lips MV, Puzzle live/not on the YT sadly/Yolo MV, Don't you tell me live/with a battle between Misa & Kanami/Matchless gum, Decided for myself, Unfair game,Non fiction days MV, Warning MV, After life MV...lot of more. Some instrumental: Giovanni, Without holding back...same album songs: Chemical reaction, Still seek revenge/with brutal bass& drums...Well the Band Maid universe same big as the Marvel 😉
If you want to continue deeper into Japanese all-female bands, you should check out Gacharic Spin. Start with "MindSet" and then continue to "I Wish I" and "Tamashii". You won't be disappointed.
youll notice the end of play is the start of domination live. miku rushes back to her side. thinks she has time to sit down then jumps back up to be ready for domination hehehe
Awesome!

TWO CHEEZY UPLOADS🤘🤘🤘🧀🧀🧀
Next pair - try something kinda old and some kinda new. Alone and Warning (music videos not live)
I'll check it out. Thanks for sharing!
You can't really go wrong with anything you select from their channel, but here are a few suggestions. Old and newer. Rinne - ua-cam.com/video/CQ9dbEVgZcA/v-deo.html Warning - ua-cam.com/video/9yD3IqrLtPk/v-deo.html Secret My Lips - ua-cam.com/video/1Vuca7V-5Ec/v-deo.html
Great react. Absolutely 2 of my favorites.
May I suggest:
1) Jazzy "Wonderland" (live) and power ballad "Daydreaming" (MV).
Sup bro! React to this band "Hanabie-We Love Sweets and L.C.G" you won't disappoint.
I'm looking forward to it!
Turn Me On live and Don't You Tell Me live please.
@Mr_Cheezyxyz Dude, I'm old, I don't know what Telegram is.
Me either. These bots are annoying lol. I blocked and reported as spam!
Check out about us(live)and blooming (mv).
Cool reaction man, good to see you are getting into the Japanese bands. You seem to like heavy music so you might enjoy another Japanese all female band Hanabie. I like how you do 2 songs in your reactions so with that in mind you might like the song most people start with - Hanabie - We Love Sweets at: ua-cam.com/video/G18yyvPCiTM/v-deo.html
And their latest song NEET Game at: ua-cam.com/video/PLfZ54FUG5w/v-deo.html
Thanks R1! I look forward to hearing them 🤘
@@Cheezyxyz Cool, looking forward to your reaction.
I second Hanabie. Such a delightful group and their debut album is incredibly strong.
@3:40 Saiki has a very low voice for a woman, you can really tell it when she just talks she sounds very authoritative. In a video on here on UA-cam Saiki indicated that her vocal range is: C3-F♯5.
That is pretty low for a woman
Kate.
Now I need to watch it!
Miku going from 1st tenor to alto to falsetto...brilliant.
