@bigissueplease well i dun exactly agreed with you since it's quite a classical Russian ballet class some posture may not be the same with the RAD requirement, personally I think this makes them more elegant only, believe it or not !
yes, I would like to know how long their class lasts, as well. I have such a difficult time getting everything in in a 1.5 hour class... I like to give a full barre, but it usually takes about an hour. I could combine more exercises, I guess, but usually the music cds aren't very conducive to combined steps. Any suggestions?
Their classes are 1.5 hours. But their teachers are AMAZING. They've been trained as dancers AND PEDAGOGUES, I've seen Maria Gribanova teaching, and she gives one exercise after the other, without a single moment of thought. It's just AMAZING to watch. I've counted her give more than 25 exercises in 1.5 hour. Of course that is with pianist, and I'm talking about 5/9 year, which music is already faster. My advise, is learn russian and go to st. petersburg. Otherwise, learn russian, and read every russian book on classical dance technique, and try to get as good education as possible. Music is a good part of Vaganova Method, what I do, because I also work without pianist, is that I prepare all tracks by measure and amount of measures and tempo, then I prepare the class, I pick the right track, and if I need it faster or slower I edit it with Audacity.
By the way, another big thing of russian pedagogues, they don't demonstrate. They tell you what to do, and that's faster. Also combinations are fairly simple, and when they get complex, it's just a "combination" of already learned things, nothing is improvised in their technique, every head position, arm position, etc., is already established. It takes maaany years to learn, even with a big amount of resources at disposal. Best bet is to grab someone who knows it all or go to russia.
@@juanjosefarina Use music from the classics like Chopin, Schurbert, etc. You can use much longer pieces of music. It takes time to prepare you class. and lots of planning.
@rlion2005 I see what you mean, but I don`t understand how some of this girls werent spelled before. Some lack of natural turnout, balance, grace, etc.
Their turnout is absolutely amazing!!!
Their work on demi pointe is simply amazing!
how long is their technique class? How does the teacher manage to get all these great combinations in the center, after a full barre?

@@agnesflorence9893 They don't actually use very long exercises. Not at least during common classes. Exercises must be fairly simple and useful.

You have to have a programme , we had up to 75 exercises that had to be memorized. Now its only 30 they need to remember.
Seriously? How do you know this? Either way, these kids are 10 times better than their American peers any day, even at SAB. Scary.
littlehouse15 you cannot assume that all american dancers are bad
