This is one of multiple Doobie Brother killer groove songs, and Home Free slayed it. Adam proved again that he is a freak of nature, and I love all the reverb and effects.
Agree, Adam can and should do more singing. He has taken some instruction now and should be more confident in his abilities. Come on Adam, you aren't the others, but you have sound to contribute and we are here for it!
Nick, Chance can get down there when need be....he's a real professional ! This is a cover of the 1972 Doobie Brothers classic.....this is an ICONIC song !!! Home Free kicked butt yet one more time,,,,and yes it's fair (I believe) to call them the greatest country band of modern times (since the 1990's)
Doobie Brothers. 1972. One of my all time favorite songs. They did it with 3 guitars, 1 bass and 2 drummers. Fast forward a few decades and Home Free did it with 5 voices. Adam Rupp is amazingly insane!!!
The guys are amazing. Austin taking the lead was perfection. Adam what can you say, so amazingly good. Tim and the bass, Rob and Chance killing it holding the beat. Absolutely terrific. Thanks for a great reaction.
I've listened to this one about 200 times, and it tickles me, when watching reactors, lol! When they hit the bridge, everyone is dancing, and singing out loud, forgetting this is HOME FREE!!! ALL ACCAPPELLA!!!
No words for these men... They are in a whole other Universe.. my God they're vocals were on point... Austin and his range my God Tim and his base breathtaking he killed it. Adam I do not think you're even human you are a Freak of Nature . When they go into the break and they'd start the build-up that super high pitched note you here was done from Adam Rupp outstanding.. Rob and Chance your vocals sent shivers down my spine.. they're no words for you guys I absolutely love you Home Free..🏡🆓🏡🍟
So glad you commented on Adam hitting the high notes - a lot of reactors have been so caught up in how great this is they've missed that. This is a great take on one of my all time favourite songs. Love it!
I'm pretty sure it's Adam on the highs, too, but since they track it in the studio, I'm using my question during the Q&A for Tim's birthday bash on Friday to find out for sure! They all have such an insane range I believe any of them could hit it, but to me, the tone sounds like a lot of the vocalizing from Adam's more recent solos.
So many times in Home Free videos, when you hear a very sustained high tenor note, I think it's Adam Rupp. I suspect that all that beatboxing has given him phenomenal breath control. I've also heard that he can hit very very low growl notes too. He sings just fine, he just doesn't prefer the spotlight while singing. I hope that his vocal instruction will increase his confidence in that. But his contributions are already invaluable. I really like your reactions, your joy, your tight attention to details that others miss (like Adam's vocals in this one), plus your own singing voice just make your channel here so much fun!
Ah old friend of Home Free (circa “The Sing Off S4 days): I agree with your statement 💯! Every live recording of their set was flawless in execution, balance and harmony. Thank you for doing a review on the boys!!! A cappella can benefit from a great critique expert, such as yourself. 😇💫
Home Free is the BEST vocal band in the business!!!! Not only because they are all soooo talented but because they can do all genres and styles and make the song their own whereas other groups stick to one particular genre such as pop and do hymns and Christmas music. HOME FREE DOES IT ALL!!!! They are the BEST there is!!!
Totally Awesome!!! They put their minds to it they simply can sing anything and do it exceptionally well. They cannot be boxed in as a Country vocal group, they bring it to each genre they pursue............ Go Home Free!!!!!!!!!!!!!😎
Home Free puts out so much music it's astounding. The most impressive thing about it is that it's ALL FANTASTIC!!!. This just had me smiling and chair dancing the whole time. I even let out a little squeal like a silly teenager at one point. The harmonies were as rich and tasty as a Thanksgiving dinner and Tim's bass! What the...??!! wow. Austin's voice soared so strong he could knock drones out of the sky. And Adam Henry Rupp! He beat boxed the hell out of this song. He's always adding new and creative elements. wow. That guy! Adam has a way more impressive voice than people realize. It's more than safe to say they are the best! Thanks for the great reaction.
Adam is a Tenor. He does those high notes at the very beginning and through out the song. He has a great voice. He said he just likes doing the beatbox more. If haven't heard it yet, I think you would like their cover of The O' Jay's Love Train
Adam and the producers do a lot of mixing and mastering in post production. So Multiple inputs come in. They Multi track a lot of the time and Adam does those high notes. Great review as always.
Definitely the best band to date and I've lived through seven decades of great music; however, none of them has pressed me as much as Home Free...they just keep getting better with every new release. They put a whole new face to all the music I loved growing up and old!
Home Free sometimes layers or loops a bit. We know that from their cover of End of the Road when you hear clapping but no one is doing it. We've also seen production versions where Adam is doing percussion and then with percussion going he does, well, Adam. It fills in the sound and makes things larger. Other groups do this too and God knows Peter Hollens does it all the time. The guys use some production as well. That isn't a dirty word. Most of the time it's just removing the "noise" so you can focus on the pure tones. Sometimes (like in Brothers in Arms) we get reverb / echo effects too. Again, many groups and solo artists do it. The only time it isn't normally happening is live performances beyond things like reverb/echo but the cleaning up can't really happen easily live as engineers are sculping the wave forms. If you listen to a live cover of a song you like then listen to the recorded one you can hear the difference. Again, not a bad thing just the way it is. Love your reactions. Take care all.
At the beginning and the very end the high note is done by Adam Rupp. Yes, he’s a tenor and he can hit some upper range notes doing his best boxing stuff! Those specific notes are to imitate a guitar slide.
Thank you Nick! I think Home Free is the best! This is so much fun and I can't stop listening to it over and over, and I don't want to stop either! Can't get the smile off of my face either! Home Free is just killing EVERYTHING they do! This is absolutely FIRE! Sending love from South Georgia!❤️🤯😀🤘🍟🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
The Doobie Brothers got some bangers man! Harmony city. To name a few more : Long Train Runnin, China Grove, Black Water, Takin it to the Streets, What a Fool Believes Edit: Comma between Water and Takin
Thank you so much for this reaction!!! Home Free has just taken the classic masterpiece by The Doobie Brothers, put their own special "twist" on it, and catapulted this track into a "new stratosphere!!!" Oh by the way, that "thump" you just heard was my "Mic Drop!!!" 🎤
This is simply excellent again!! I have been a fan of the Doobie Brothers for a long time. This song is just timeless. It still swings. Really something for Home Free. So great sung, so great harmonies, bone-feeling bass, But for me it's Adam who makes it truly phenomenal. He nailed it. The vocal percussion is just inhumane. So unbelievably good. For me the very best beatboxer/vocal percussionist/mouth artist there is. And I haven't even mentioned his appearance yet. He's so handsome. I do like that he has his hair a bit longer again and then with that bandana on.
I grew up on classic rock & am a big fan of the Doobie Brothers & had their albums. "Listen To The Music" was a big hit for them back in 1972. Love that Home Free is keeping this great music alive & introducing it to the younger generation. The guys did a really nice job of this song. Austin was great for the lead & loved the background harmonies of Rob, Chance & Tim's bass. Adam killed it on the vocal percussion again. He always comes up with some new & interesting sounds.
I have listened to numerous accapella groups. There is close competition between Home Free and Pentatonix. I think Home Free is the best in existence as of now.
Good for you!!! You're the first reactor to realize that high note was Adam. If you watch the guys during the breakdown, you can see Adam is doing that note. Adam made his own special filter so he'll be able to make that muffled sound during live shows. And how many times do you hear a song where the record scratches actually sound like the song itself. Usually they just fill in and make the music more interesting. Our guys kicked ass again. They took an iconic song and made it into a classic once again but of their own. I love the sounds Adam has added and he just looks to be having sooo much fun with this one.
This a 70’s song by The Doobie Brothers. And Heaven gave us Home Free to start groovin again. Plus Rupp is hitting all those high notes including the ones at the start of the song…keep dancing brother…lol
Holy Shit. I know I'm late on your reaction, but I seen the same thing and heard the same thing you did with Adam Rupp. That was him on the high note. Had to be. Never paid attention before.
I totally love the original song by the Doobie Brothers in the early 70’s! These guys did a beautiful job using their awesome talent for their rendition! So fun to listen to and very difficult to sit still in your seat!🕺💃🎶❤️ Thanks as always for your fun breakdown reactions. I didn’t even realize that those notes were being made by Adam!?🫢🤣♥️
You definitely have to see them live. I seen them in Cincinnati in June and when I found out they were going to be in Akron Ohio I purchased VIP tickets. I listen to them everyday. And I love watching your videos.
Dominick I've been waiting for you to react to their rock classic. They killed this!!!! They are much more than a country vocal band....this is a great example of their talent.
This was a cover of a Doobie Brother's song from years ago. You should check them out too. I still say you are the GOAT OF MUSIC REACTORS!! #Thatsingerreactions
While listening to this song, another came to mind. Country Song, 'Meet in the middle neath that old Georgia Pine'. That would be a good one for HF to do.
I’m with you. They won me over too and I’m not country fan either. But they are so dang good! This is a remake of the Doobie Brothers song from the 70’s. Adam killed it. And you heard the high notes (if that’s Adam that’s amazing, I thought it was Austin) but did you hear Tim’s low notes?! There’s one when they’re near the flag where he goes so low. They boys are amazing. Loved it. Love your analysis as always Nick! 🥰😍
This is a Doobie Brothers cover and they smashed it out of the park! Everyone always talks about Tim's vocal range and it is amazing, but Adam Rupp has the biggest range I think. He is technically classified as a tenor, but I have heard him go as low as Tim and also sing as high as Austin. He has a small verse in their cover of How Great Thou Art and he is singing tenor. He has a beautiful voice! Definitely a new/old summer jam for me
I think my favorite song by the Doobie Brothers is trying to keep it rolling I might not have the words exactly right but close enough. There is a harmonica in that song better than I’ve ever heard it. Adam Rupp would kill it.
It is safe to say Home Free is the best of the best of any thing they do. Definitely the best acapella group out right now. And you should check out some of The Doobie Brothers music. I think you would like it.
Thank you for your reaction and observations. I thought you did great job with this video. Adam does get to sing with the group on a number of videos they’ve done in the past. Ones I can think of immediately are How Great Thou Art and helplessly hoping. Adam Rupp is so talented. It’s hard to imagine so much talent came wrapped up in one package. That Home Free is together with such a group of talented singers is just incredible to me. They raise the bar so high for everyone else.
Your joy is infectious!
Thank you brother 🙏🏾
❤️❤️❤️
I'M SO GLAD YOU BUSTED ADAM DOING THAT HIGH NOTE🤣🤣
Yes !!! that is the Ruppster hitting those high background notes .
This is one of multiple Doobie Brother killer groove songs, and Home Free slayed it. Adam proved again that he is a freak of nature, and I love all the reverb and effects.
Also, the sky high notes are Rupp as well.
Adam said he has been practicing his vocals this past year. He has added vocals in his new versions of his beatbox solo in the live shows.
Adam Rupp is a beast! The talent in this group is endless - they are pure magic! 💛🎶💛
Agree, Adam can and should do more singing. He has taken some instruction now and should be more confident in his abilities. Come on Adam, you aren't the others, but you have sound to contribute and we are here for it!
Totally agree! Adam has a great tenor sound, and love him adding his voice to his beatbox solos.
Adam seems to be the ultimate perfectionist. So, for him to sing, he must feel really good & confident with it. 🥰 That's my take. 🤷♀️
Happy birthday Tim Foust 🎈!
Doobie Brothers. 1972. One of my all time favorite songs. They did it with 3 guitars, 1 bass and 2 drummers. Fast forward a few decades and Home Free did it with 5 voices.
Adam Rupp is amazingly insane!!!
Love watching you watching HOME FREE!
I agree that is Adam hit those notes! I have listen to this several times and couldn't figure it out either.
If you watch during the slowed down part you can see Adam in the far right doing the high notes.
Home Free and Home Fry forever 💕
Yes it is a cover , the original was done by The Doobie Brothers back in 1972 .
The somebody hitting those notes is the one and only Adam Rupp, master voicebox extraordinaire!
The guys are amazing. Austin taking the lead was perfection. Adam what can you say, so amazingly good. Tim and the bass, Rob and Chance killing it holding the beat. Absolutely terrific. Thanks for a great reaction.
Yes, say it! They are the best group I’ve ever heard!
Original was by the Doobie Brothers in the early 70's....Maybe 1972 ish......
I think it was one of my fav songs at the time. Always got us up dancing at the pub
They are the ONLY country acapella group that I know of.
I've listened to this one about 200 times, and it tickles me, when watching reactors, lol! When they hit the bridge, everyone is dancing, and singing out loud, forgetting this is HOME FREE!!! ALL ACCAPPELLA!!!

I had to listen to it again to be sure that was Adam-WOW!
I've been informed that it is Adam Rupp hitting those notes.
If you watch during the slowed down part you can see Adam in the far right doing the high notes.
This is a cover of the Doobie Brothers song from the 70's. They killed it.
I have watched this reaction so many times that at the end of the song, my hands go in the air in sync with yours! I love it!
Adam is a beast , quite the singer too!
IMHO... they are the best male vocal group ever.
❤️🔥
They took this to the next level. I always enjoy your reactions. I know it's a good reaction when you start shaking your head and that smile! Lol
One of the many videos of Home Free Reactions I've watched mentioned that Adam Rupp is a fine tenor.
Passion about your career, very important!
Such a great version. Love these guys❤❤❤
Let the music play! Home Free is just the best❣️🎼🥰🎶❤️

So LOVE this one. Been jamming in my car to this one..... loudly
I agree with you Adam Rupp should let us hear his sweet voice more I would love to hear him take the lead on a song
Another killer song and video. Austin and Adam Rupp kills this song. Can get enough of these guys.❤️
Adam sings on helplessly hoping, my favorite homefree song
Adam is a Tenor. He does those high notes at the very beginning and through out the song. He has a great voice. He said he just likes doing the beatbox more. If haven't heard it yet, I think you would like their cover of The O' Jay's Love Train

Remember Adam gets into the whistle register with his harmonica sound. Hear Ain’t Going Down Til the Sun Comes Up. He majorly hits the whistle notes
The Doobie Brothers got some bangers man! Harmony city.
To name a few more : Long Train Runnin, China Grove, Black Water, Takin it to the Streets, What a Fool Believes
Edit: Comma between Water and Takin
Absolutely!!!❤❤

Adam Rupp is the one hittin those High notes in very background
Thanks for the double checks on what Adam was doing in his genius/magic compositions.
Adam sings in "How Great Thou Art", "Helplessly Hoping" and "Auld Lang Syne". There may be a few more but I'm old do don't remember.😎😎😎😎

Your tenor is stong. So clean and crisp
I think it's safe to say they are the only country a capella group

Let me tell you Mr.Rupp hit that😂😂😂he can 🎶 you know it.
Love you!!💗 Love HF!💗
Adam sings in there version of "How Great Thou Art". He has a beautiful tenor voice.
You got me on to Home Free. I never heard of them before. I showed my Dad and he loves them now aswell. Tim is my fav.
They are the best group PERIOD!!!
This a 70’s song by The Doobie Brothers. And Heaven gave us Home Free to start groovin again. Plus Rupp is hitting all those high notes including the ones at the start of the song…keep dancing brother…lol

Adam Rupp can sing...his whole family is talented.
They killed this! Love your reaction!
I’m sure you’ve already heard Tim’s version of “can’t hep falling in love” but if not give it a listen.
Dominick I've been waiting for you to react to their rock classic. They killed this!!!!
They are much more than a country vocal band....this is a great example of their talent.
Word is Rupp's doing the highest notes on this one.
everyone always talks about everyone else's range, I think Adam has the largest!
This was a cover of a Doobie Brother's song from years ago. You should check them out too. I still say you are the GOAT OF MUSIC REACTORS!!

They did that one during quarantine. It’s called Meet in the Middle! It’s awesome! They are all at their own homes!
Those high notes are Adam Rupp!

Listen to the music damn
Young man great job.
Adam has gotten really good with the loop station

I believe it went #1 in 1972.
Kudos to all the guys but WHOA Adam!!!!! Adam is blowing me away HOME FREE did a great job of modernizing this 1972 DOOBIE BROTHERS classic song.
If i didnt know better i would think you want to song along with these guys...i know i would.😅
It is safe to say Home Free is the best of the best of any thing they do. Definitely the best acapella group out right now. And you should check out some of The Doobie Brothers music. I think you would like it.
That is really genuinely safe to say 💙💙
Thank you for your reaction and observations. I thought you did great job with this video. Adam does get to sing with the group on a number of videos they’ve done in the past.
