Back in the 1960s, my favourite two-door car was the 1966 Barracuda. Mahalo for your efforts in bringing this car to light!
I like the firewall ventilation option...very rare! Also remember that Mopar liked to use left handed threaded wheel studs on the driver's side 😀
Remember driving around in the back seat of '66 Barracuda during the summer I turned 11. Was the grocery getter for by friend's Mom. Used to bake in that back seat with all the sun coming in. Loved that car. Great look and really unique for it's time. This one looks like a great starter car. Look forward to seeing more on this one. Be safe and stay well.
the spring on the brake drum was the factorys way of reducing brake harmonics
I kinda had a feeling afterwards that’s what it was for, oh well🤷♂️
"It's straight except for the dents"! 😄
Reminded me of my days with my uncle and his 68 Barracuda. great stuff. Geez Mike you got that problem too in Canada with people stealing your car parts....man
Thanks for sharing, I noted that this was before you did the driveway! Glad you have video footage to fall back on. I enjoy all that you do. Keep up the great work.
Thanks for watching! Good eye, yes, have lots of old footage that I have to share with you guys lol…
Every time I see a first gen Cuda I hear Ann Wilson's voice in my head (Heart). For whatever reason the 67 and later just doesn't have that same effect LOL.🤷♂ It's a shame Chrysler didn't match the big and unique styling effort with a drivetrain that lived up to it. Also it's a shame they didn't stick with the 64 front end design. By far the best IMHO.
This was actually way more interesting than I thought it would be. I just find that year Barracuda terrible looking. So great job Mike!
Sounds good. Another beauty for the collection
Great find , I always loved that body style from the first time I saw the Hemi Under Glass
Thanks Mike, yes very unique!
@@Theoldcarchannel. I am not a MOPAR guy but they are COOL !!!
The spring around the brake drum is to reduce brake squeal or ringing noise.
you're doing a cuda, dylan did a mustang, vice-grip put a hemi in a square body, digs is doing tractors..... I'm so confused....
😂😂😂😂😂 the world is a strange place these days
Looking forward to seeing what y’all do with this little gem! Great video!
Thank Marty, hit that bell to be notified for next weeks video on it👍
Good.job😄😄👍👍👍👏👏👏cool
Thank you 👍👍👍
Great find, can't wait to see it running next week!
Thank you, might be out sooner than next week👍 trying to catch up on some old content
Good to see you back Mike ! I learned to drive on a '65 Barracuda. Fun cars ! Back glass is super expensive !
Thanks Paul! Damn that’s cool! Yes, Very expensive!
Power your!
Cool find. I think you picked the right thumbnail. Rhett
Haha thank you, had some good help
@@Theoldcarchannel. anytime 👍
Sweet! New rig for Power Tour, lol. No passenger door, but doors are overrated anyhow!
No doors would be heavenly on power tour! Free AC!!!
The only Mopar I don’t think is ugly thank you. I actually have always loved this car but I would put a Ford motor in it
SBF in one of these would be a hoot! Then again, a 318 with some work done to it or a 340 ain’t no slouch!
@@Theoldcarchannel. yeah but more expensive to build and still when it gets down to it you just can’t beat Ford particularly if you decided to put a coyote in it. The Mustang by my name has a blown Windsor and is fully built for handling and braking front to back…just flexin😎
I see a 66 Formula S! clone or not nice find!! factory ac car love these little A body Barracudas
Had one of these with a 273,Solid lifters? and a big 4barrel, no tach but had a vacuum gauge for"economy" unique and fun car
the spring is to dampen vibration
Might want to check the wheel studs. I have an original 1 owner and it has rh thread and lh thread studs and most people will break them off or strip them if they don't know this.
This had some replaced and some were factory… learned the hard way lol
Cool old car. I don't know if you can get this one looking purdy. 😉
Looking forward to more on this Barracuda! Is this a flip-type project, or a keeper?
Flip type, too many cars…. Can’t keep/maintain them all. Fix it up and get it driving safely, and let someone else enjoy it
Following your channel because it is in CANADA! Tired of seeing those classic mustangs from down in dry country. Our first new car was a black 65 mustang coupe, 289 3 speed with red interior. Wish I had it back. Bought it new in April or May of 1965. No way to find the VIN to see if it still exists.
Thank you for the support! Wow, beautiful car, gotta love black with red interior! If you have the vin # there’s a chance of finding the car
think I still have a couple left hand studs in my tool box if you wantem
Being Red, that engine is probably a 273.
I checked the casting, unfortunately it’s a 318. Would’ve been nice if it was a 273, at least it would’ve been more correct for the car
hey man love the channel but i just gotta tell ya in the description on 1966 you put 19666 just letting ya know
Oh man, thank you for that! All changed!
@@Theoldcarchannel. no problemo
