It's still useless. Honestly, I consider this a nerf. In a real match, Vipers and Corruptors will always take out the Mothership, and you'll end up losing more resources than you did before the patch.
Adding 100/100 and 2 supply cost makes it an overall nerf. The buff to damage is a buff to something that the mothership doesn't/can't really do effectively because by the time you have one, your opponent will have plenty of vikings/corruptors/vipers etc. They should have just given it the damage buff, made it un-yankable, and left it at that.
@@ManDuderGuy i think making the mother ship heroic unit will be good to prevent it from getting dragged by vipers. at least something that will make it more useful to have it
The DPS probably can't go higher than it currently is on PTR. The patch notes are wrong (or the patch is bugged) and each target it hits still takes 6x6 (same as the mothership's previous singletarget attack) except now it hits four targets, which means the DPS output of the new mothership is roughly equivalent to two void rays hitting armored targets with prismatic alignment always on, or two battlecruisers one of which is hitting air, and one of which is hitting ground. (While also costing about the same as two void rays and being much cheaper than 2x battlecruiser--but with the downside that you can't focus fire the mothership, the damage needs to be split between four targets). And as Harstem notes in the video, you could do a +1 air attack upgrade timing attack--a +1 air upgrade would increase the DPS of just the mothership by about 23--so roughly the equivalent DPS boost of adding two stalkers to your army. Granted I think they could stick with these "bugged" numbers and it would be fine, cause yes, in the lategame it's hard to get the mothership close enough to deal damage without it getting sniped, and yes, earlygame Mothership Rush is still kind of silly cause fleet beacons cost a million dollars, but...yeah, I would be careful about jacking the damage any higher than its current unintentional state on PTR, or unironically mothership rush builds might become a balance issue. Like...as-is, the mothership can a-move into 6 hydras and win, and in my tests on the PTR, the mothership usually lost but occasionally won a-moving into 7 hydras. 7 hydras cost 700/350, which is a lot more than 400/400. Eight mutas lost to the mothership--800/800 vs 400/400 army there. Four corruptors (600/400) usually beat the mothership, but only barely--they lost if the mothership had +1 attack and the corrupters were not upgraded. That is hilariously strong. I like the mothership dealing this much damage, I think it can maybe be justified as not broken cause you can only get one of them and need a fleet beacon, but...yeah, I don't think there's much room to push the DPS higher. (Unless...well I guess you could push the DPS higher if you make the mothership more specialized--like it could deal more damage to light units and less damage to non-light units. Or some other specialization like that. I guess you could also just make it further down the tech tree--like require fleet beacon + templar archives + robotics bay so there's no risk of a rush, something like that would also allow you to get more silly with the damage).

I still think they should add a special supply building to each race that lets them have 1 hero unit. Mothership, Odin...Leviathan? Make the building expensive but it charges like a warp gate does, so once its charged you can just summon the unit. If it dies you gotta let it recharge before summoning for free. Given it to the robotics bay, maybe, and have it disable units for a set amount of time while it heals. Still, considering the design philosophy of the game, shields are supposed to be Protoss's renewable health resource. It regens faster than zerg do and for free, but less than a full heal like Terrans do for cost.
@calebadam2576 you don't have to take away from any of that to add more. Hell even give zerg an upgrade to regen 3-5x more on creep. Even protoss could get other shield upgrades besides +1 less damage.... please bring more to the game in any way
Turns out, a flying unit with aoe is actually kinda good! Who knew? -Zerg players aren't real- Also, the scaling on that thing is kinda nuts, too - a 6 damage x 4 hits x 4 targets attack means like 16 extra damage per upgrade, which is on par with a carrier I think? Except without the weakness of having to rely on interceptors.
Maybe add Permanent Cloaking Field back but with acivation? Current Cloaking Field but permanent, can be toggled on and off but with cooldown before being able to turn on again after turning off?
So Mothership wouldn't be an instant target, can create many new playstyles and bait styles with ofcourse cooldown on being able to turn it on again to be permanent. Cooldown being like the balancing part of that strat Basically its the current cloak but permanent instead of 20 secs but with that cooldown on turning it on again.@@KradDrows
Having said that, previously the mothership just put on a bit of a light show for a few seconds before being destroyed, where it's actually attacking now. If not for community uproar about the patch, I'd be certain that the new mothership would not make it into the game. As it is now... I think there's still a fair chance that the council will decide not to allow this version of the mothership into the game.
They shoulda just made the MS 350/350 instead of going back and forth between 300/300 and 400/400. And maybe more survivability. As the games sole "hero unit" it shouldn't be brittle. (It did fight well this game though)

@@calebadam2576 i would rather them add a ton of broken shit to each race. Who the fuck cares. Make the game fun again.
@VeryBadPlayerTV Sure, but there are some core game design details that make each race feel unique. Health values and regeneration is part of that.
@calebadam2576 you don't have to take away from any of that to add more. Hell even give zerg an upgrade to regen 3-5x more on creep. Even protoss could get other shield upgrades besides +1 less damage.... please bring more to the game in any way
@@VeryBadPlayerTV You gotta realize the game is something like 14 years old or so at this point. It's not going to get too radical of changes.
the damage output on momma is wild
I used to play Pure Mothership Rush, so is nice to see my strat in more expert hands
Turns out, a flying unit with aoe is actually kinda good! Who knew? -Zerg players aren't real-
Also, the scaling on that thing is kinda nuts, too - a 6 damage x 4 hits x 4 targets attack means like 16 extra damage per upgrade, which is on par with a carrier I think? Except without the weakness of having to rely on interceptors.
Im so excited to see more mothership play
Finally a mothership is a mothership and not a magical ballon?
Not saying the MS should be able to warp in….but in love to see it warp in units also lol
This is what the mother ship ought to be, the protoss capital ship that's powerful. 😊
Give Mommaship her Black Hole ability back, please!
Maybe add Permanent Cloaking Field back but with acivation?
Current Cloaking Field but permanent, can be toggled on and off but with cooldown before being able to turn on again after turning off?
Why would you want to disable the cloack????
So Mothership wouldn't be an instant target, can create many new playstyles and bait styles with ofcourse cooldown on being able to turn it on again to be permanent. Cooldown being like the balancing part of that strat Basically its the current cloak but permanent instead of 20 secs but with that cooldown on turning it on again.@@KradDrows
Today we learned that mothership can attack while shooting xD
Having said that, previously the mothership just put on a bit of a light show for a few seconds before being destroyed, where it's actually attacking now. If not for community uproar about the patch, I'd be certain that the new mothership would not make it into the game. As it is now... I think there's still a fair chance that the council will decide not to allow this version of the mothership into the game.
Cheeky little mothership rush. Love to see it
Can you hallucinate the mothership with a sentry? Might be able to juke the opponent.
@@aznfelguard nop
Finally some awesome tosslove again in a long time ... but poor swarm lol
Is a 6 minute mothership a rush?
Only two minutes after the battle cruiser teleports into your base
More of this please
07:46 -400/-400
They shoulda just made the MS 350/350 instead of going back and forth between 300/300 and 400/400. And maybe more survivability. As the games sole "hero unit" it shouldn't be brittle. (It did fight well this game though)
I feel like they made the modership 5 times stronger
@@Military_Equipments until a zerg with brains builds 1 viper, then the fun is over
Don't know if its any good, but it looks pretty cool.
We got good mothership before gta6
pheonix/ oracle start instead of void ray should be stronger
What a tool to get rid of zergling play ! I like it (And I am Zerg main). It's cool and fun.
I think oracles would already do this
Limit/price increase dont look good for me, other race units dont get theyr unit cost increased (zergs hatch cheaper but fleet beacon do not). The beam can kill lings, this moment may help against mass lings. You also can recoll if prism died..
Can two nexi overcharge each other for infinite energy?
There's a global 60 second cooldown on the ability, so no.
@@Unormalismand range limit of 8
Can't have Protoss building 17 Nexus like some other race does for infinite map hack
What map is this?
This is some gourmet cheese right here
Гарно вийшло 👍🏻💪🔥
New mothership cheese is crazy - kills him with carriers...
i wish i could play like you
Haha.. Harstem let's see this mothershio rush against clem or Buyon
So many Gs for one game ❤
fresh cheese is just milk
fun to watch
Sup with the scottish accent that shines through? :D
instead of copy SC2 races, they should had to go to Warcraft4 style immediately! Infernal is a great middle age race which does not fit with the high tech ones
-400/400
Calling this a RUSH is WILD! Bro could have just walked his units across and map and saved 400+400. With a few extra stalkers with that money lol. How much is the Terran Balance council paying you? Blink once then scratch your left ear if you are posing this video under duress.
It's a ckickbait title, can you blame him?
Make skytoss great again
Bring back vortex!
dislike and negative comment due to the patch
Clowns get downed. #neverforget

PLZ REMOVE THIS UNIT
Terran wins ...
This is the most biased review I ever see. Where is the viper and corruptor which usually kill mothership???
It's not a review, it's just a match he played trying the strategy. Calm down.
