Materials used:
• Oil paints - "Nevskaya palitra"
Colors: Burnt Umber, Cadmium Yellow Pale, Ultramarine Blue, Cadmium Red and Titanium White.
In addition I have a couple of colors that I use sometimes: Ivory Black, Celestial Blue and Cobalt Violet Deep.
• Primed 280gsm paper
• Silver leaf
• Paint thinner (odorless mineral spirits)
• Medium (stand linseed oil)
• Brushes - Detail brushes & Filbert synthetic brushes of different sizes
• Glass palette (homemade)
• Palette knife (from a local art-store)
• Paper towels (or tissues that I use to wipe the brushes)

some artist use many colors for skin tones but for me yellow ochre scarlet lake ultramarine burnt umber and white be good combo

In most of your videos, you mix colors before anything. Which makes sense, but how do you determine what colors you need? Do you look at your photo reference? : If so, i would love to see a video of you deciphering what mediums you need!

I’ve never done oil paintings, but when you use that type of paper or foundation and are finished does is dry? Do you have to seal it with something?
The technique is in my head, so why can't I get it to transfer on canvas like this? What could I do to improve ?💖

Beautiful! Have just tried painting on leaf on hard panel. Find it difficult. You make it look so easy. It looks like you did a sketch prior to painting. Was it with pencil. I find it very difficult to do a quick sketch on the leaf. Don’t know if it from the panel being so hard? Any tips? Thanks
