Building the wheel includes : 1. choosing components ,2. calculating spoke length , 3. spoke prep,4. lacing the wheel , 4. tensioning spokes, straightening wheel, tension balancing spokes , dishing and stress relieving wheel.
Lacing the wheel is only one of the steps of building the wheel , but very important step.
