Anybody ever think his kids are just hanging out with their friends and they see Woody flying around in the sky and they're like, yup that's my dad, that's what he does lol
Woody, thanks for sharing this. At the risk of some minor embarrassment, rather than delete the footage, you took a simple mistake and turned it into an opportunity to make a good teaching point. Great job!
That's the way to handle aviation experiences, only the utmost humility and willingness to learn will allow one's growth as a pilot and save them from making the same mistakes multiple times since any mistake in the air has a varying chance to be fatal depending on innumerable factors, never one of zero regardless
AIR 123 TW Pre Flight checklist. Air okay? I okay? Reserve chute good? 1 helmet strap? 2 risers secure? 3 harness points? Twist of the risers? Wind direction?
I think the big take home here is, if your setup needs to change (like going back to forward launch from reverse), you need to start the checklist all over again.
DUDE! Don't scare me like that!! Glad you're ok and I respect you for showing your mistakes. I'm rusty at reverse launches too, and I didn't really care until I tried to do a forward in strong wind and got my lines caught in the prop... ^^;
15:52 "I think I'm better at left than right, I don't know if it's me or the motor or what..." I'm better at idle left spirals too, and I'm pretty convinced it's my motor since it's offset left to compensate for torque.
I really appreciate that you've stopped trying to compress and process the audio when up in the sky. I know the motor is annoying but it's inevitable and sounds muuuuuuuch better compared to a compressed processed Woody.
I have a paramotor and had real, near death experiences, this is nothing of the sort. One time, I was flying and was flying towards a small set of hills, wind good, until I passed over them at 750 feet or so. I got hit with crazy wind, I was at full throttle, no forward penetration with speed bar and within seconds, I was literally being pushed down out of the sky. I didn't dare turn as my ground speed would have increased, I prepared for a emergency strait down landing and I'm here to tell you I went down like I was on a fast falling parachute. I did a full flare at 15 feet and literally walked out the landing, timing and Gods participation saved me from getting smashed on the ground. It's a great feeling to be safe on the ground, even if you have to walk your equipment a .25 mile to a main road. Be safe Woody, this sport/hobby has injured or killed quite a few. I was trained by the "late" Bob Armond and that was more than a 15 years ago.
Apparently, you need to have some of your own realizations, I would suggest you seek the counsel of a God Realized Saint, Yogiraj Gurunath Siddhanath, will be in the USA very soon for his events. I suggest you attend as it will offer you the tools necessary to shift out of anger, doubt and condemnation for God.
man I was wondering when this catastrophic situation was going to come up, my heart was pounding all the way to the end of the video wondering when it was going to happen LMAO
Another great vid Woody. I fly my Nitro out of my backyard but with only 50 flights so far, there is always plenty to learn from you and Kyle O's videos. Only had 5 flights on my Nitro so far and just finally got my landing mojo (not used to feet forward in the Nitro harness) in yesterday's flight.
I had a similar twist in my riser a few flights back; I had landed and kited the wing down and unclipped to take a break. When I went to clip in again, I assumed the risers would be correctly laid out; somehow they were not. When I got in the air, I immediately saw my right riser was twisted 180 degrees, just like yours. The interesting thing was, the wing was flying just fine; the twist was only preventing me from easily using my trimmers. The A, B, C and D lines were basically forced to fly in the correct direction; it's not like a simple riser twist would have put the A's in the back. Once I realized this, I calmed down - but I did exactly what you did and landed to fix it. So now I know, a little riser twist doesn't equal death or even an immediate hazard in controlling the wing.
Probably at little late to be responding to this video, but just viewed it for the first time. I'm starting to watch your videos more and more, and I appreciate your honesty and willingness to share your mistakes and to talk about safety. Keep flyin'.
A 360 camera would be cool to film with while flying. I love when you do turns because you can see a full 360º horizon. Your own little circular section of the Earth.
To people bitching about the title, what seems like a small or minor mistake in aviation can have HUGE consequences in the air. While I know next to nothing about paramotoring or the mistake he made, I know well what it feels like to have something go wrong while in the air and the stress that it brings. Woody is absolutely right, even if it was a relatively mild mistake, it can stress you out enough to distract you if a more serious problem arises in the air which can have deadly consequences.
I did the same thing once. I had to grab the break lines above the twist to land because they wouldn't retract from the handles. It was pretty scary, but an awesome adrenalin rush.
screw all the haters Woody. You keep doing whatever it takes to get people to click . the great videos speak for them selves . keep up the great work .
Glad you showed that, Woody. I did the same thing one time but fortunately I blew the launch and caught the mistake while I was still on the ground. I thought it would have been a much more serious problem. Since you had control of the brake line, it appears everything worked as normal.
Pre kiting the wing once before take off can help avoid situations like this. Just get it up straight into the wind, look up, check your risers, brakes etc. then set it down. Then do your launch.
so weird, i watched this guy during MW2 year on his CoD videos, now hes uploading paragliding videos that i came across from Flitetest lol. small world
Woody, thanks for the ride. Fun and exciting. You keep your lawn and house awesome but what’s going in just behind the house? Looks a pool was covered and being filled in? Just curious.
Why is this so disliked? Also, Jesus Christ woody, this flying go-cart thing is such a terrible idea, you should get into something else like camping, kayaking, or maybe knitting anything that’s not 50/50 ever time you do it. Please don’t die, it would really cause some problems for PKA.
Can someone explain the mistake? I am looking into getting into this and am researching common mistakes and things to watch out for. Since I am not savvy and don't actually have one yet, can someone explain what was wrong? Did the lines end up being twisted or something?
do they carry a small emergency parachute? there are some really small and light ones out there whom at least bring you down alive Edit: with "the" i mean Paramotor pilots
deciding to climb instead of aborting the flight and looking for a safe put down was probably your second major bad decision and I've been there. Glad you dodged it on this one - happy landings and blue skies
I'm not knocking training. But there is a risk that training can instill a sense of complacency. You just do as your instructor tells you without understanding what's behind the instruction. Won't affect everybody but, its a risk people should be aware of. Being PIC, even of a paramotor, it still all comes down to the pilot regardless who trained em.
Great video! Glad you calmly and safely corrected your issue! Side note, I disagree with the sky above you being useless part. It's what allows you to climb, don't you think? Runway behind you, if it were to vanish, would have no effect on you whatsoever but if the sky above you disappears, you aren't going up.
Woody! I love your HONESTY and your HUMILITY ... awesome!! when you make a mistake especially a simple one just SHOW IT so others can LEARN, and you are "SAVING LIVES" YOU have saved lives in at least 2 ways. Way one how to PREVENT the problem and Way 2 how to DEAL with it. Woody You are SAVING LIVES with these videos. AWESOME !!!
I don't get why people are so angry about a misleading title, i mean its not like this guy is compensated by tricking people into watching a video they normally wouldn't want to watch... oh wait...
so weird to think the dude on call of duty years ago just giving advice now lives in a palatial estate and flies around in a damn lawn chair..
Remember when FPSMcDuck was the meme
These videos are officially nostalgic for me.
Anybody ever think his kids are just hanging out with their friends and they see Woody flying around in the sky and they're like, yup that's my dad, that's what he does lol
It's pretty incredible how knowledgeable you become when starting new endeavors.
Woody, thanks for sharing this. At the risk of some minor embarrassment, rather than delete the footage, you took a simple mistake and turned it into an opportunity to make a good teaching point. Great job!

i could smell the motor and the cut grass when he started it up
I miss your flying videos Woody
The mistake happens at 1:40
thanks!
the mistake happened when you was born
were* born
RsBown de
stick to what bought you that house.. better to be alive
DUDE! Don't scare me like that!!
Glad you're ok and I respect you for showing your mistakes. I'm rusty at reverse launches too, and I didn't really care until I tried to do a forward in strong wind and got my lines caught in the prop... ^^;
Woody luckily didn’t ban anyone who gave him safety advice before this flight. Real tawk
15:52 "I think I'm better at left than right, I don't know if it's me or the motor or what..."
I'm better at idle left spirals too, and I'm pretty convinced it's my motor since it's offset left to compensate for torque.
Black Gryph0n I didn't understand the logic to it as he had stopped his motor altogether before starting the spirals. There shouldn't be any torque.
@@Oz_Gnarly_One he meant his motor is physically offset left
I hope woody doesn’t stop uploading one day
"Not all scars are visible" been on tumblr lately Eh?
lmao
Good one Woody. I like the way you stayed calm and talked yourself down and fixed the situation. We have all been there and you did a great job.
Hey, I've got a few questions.
1. What's a speedbar do?
2. The brakes are the things you pull to move left and right?
3. What's wingtip steering?
I really appreciate that you've stopped trying to compress and process the audio when up in the sky. I know the motor is annoying but it's inevitable and sounds muuuuuuuch better compared to a compressed processed Woody.

I really do enjoy watching your paramotor videos. You doing those spirals looks terrifying, but also fun. Great video.
man I was wondering when this catastrophic situation was going to come up, my heart was pounding all the way to the end of the video wondering when it was going to happen LMAO
Yes he is a little click baiter.
7:45 filthy frank?

Woody is dad goals.
Too much woody's will make you a dad, be careful out there.
Do you still fly. If so can you please do a updated video of your 2021 gear and stuff

My anxiety during this video: 🔝🔝
I hope Jackie doesn't see this vlog
Will there be more MotoVlogs soon? I really enjoy them :)
A 360 camera would be cool to film with while flying. I love when you do turns because you can see a full 360º horizon. Your own little circular section of the Earth.
Never saw trimmers AND speed bar on the same risers... Is it set up for it? Otherwise the combined effects could make it unstable?
the low key panic was intense

Mr. WoodyGamertag it looks like you have the same amount of land as all of your neighbors land combined.
I'm seeing improvements in your skills Woody. Yayuh!
I did the same thing once. I had to grab the break lines above the twist to land because they wouldn't retract from the handles. It was pretty scary, but an awesome adrenalin rush.
Those turns were intense! I don't fly but seeing that I don't know if I have the metal in my pants.
Man I'm glad u said take a breath to calm down cause I was panicking lol
Hopefully Jackie doesn't take away your paramotor
Thanks for being willing to show mistakes and passing on the knowledge Woody.
14:20 looked horrifying
screw all the haters Woody. You keep doing whatever it takes to get people to click . the great videos speak for them selves . keep up the great work .
If that is your house, it is gynomous.
Not even a minute in and I know this is gonna be good. "I'm gonna do a reverse launch. Reverse launching is easy!"
Best part of the video! 20:20
Berenstain i
It's Berenstein!
Finally it's over!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Waiting for the title, Woody almost cheated death.
Roman Atwood uses clickbait almost every day and gets an overwhelmingly positive like ratio. Woody does it once and gets shit on
Woody join Faze they almost die every week
your estate is the size of a neighborhood
Bruh u I live on 30 acres
Not that expensive where he lives
Thanks for sharing Woody, the experience is real and sharing it is helpful and way cool
Glad you showed that, Woody. I did the same thing one time but fortunately I blew the launch and caught the mistake while I was still on the ground. I thought it would have been a much more serious problem. Since you had control of the brake line, it appears everything worked as normal.
At least we know clipping in like that is not fatal. Ty for sharing
be safe u silly lol
Pre kiting the wing once before take off can help avoid situations like this. Just get it up straight into the wind, look up, check your risers, brakes etc. then set it down. Then do your launch.
I don't think it was a prekiting issue. seems it was an issue of changing his setup and not starting his preflight checks over.
so weird, i watched this guy during MW2 year on his CoD videos, now hes uploading paragliding videos that i came across from Flitetest lol. small world
Damn woody looks like a dad
There was no death cheated. Nothing to see here...
risers connected wrong way(twisted), not a big deal.
Woody, thanks for the ride. Fun and exciting. You keep your lawn and house awesome but what’s going in just behind the house? Looks a pool was covered and being filled in? Just curious.
The higher you got, the scarier it got.
I think hes actually safer at higher heights. I assume he has a parachute but he would have more time to get control the longer he falls. Hopefully
Good on you for showing your mistakes woody, that's helpful for beginners! A lot of guys wouldn't do that.
Woody don't end up in some headlines as famous youtube star dies in trragic paramotoring accident.

Happy you made it safe.
Woody the type of guy to try out a clickbait title, subs repay him being alive with dislikes. smh #TeamGamertagThings
good shit woody. them acro moves got me leaning in my seat.
Nice flying Tex... fun video!
pls don't die
do they carry a small emergency parachute? there are some really small and light ones out there whom at least bring you down alive
Edit: with "the" i mean Paramotor pilots
Alex R. Im pretty sure you can get them but I don't know for sure cause my experience is limited to youtube and wanting to paraglide.
Its a free country he lives in.
If he wanna die like that, it his american birth right to do so.
*Murica* - 2017
HI WOODY!
Can you please explain what the speed bar does? im assuming it does more than just gaining speed?
looks like the house from the movie "Get Out"
Never test a speedbar over forest and highway that low
deciding to climb instead of aborting the flight and looking for a safe put down was probably your second major bad decision and I've been there. Glad you dodged it on this one - happy landings and blue skies
Great video Woody! Thanks for sharing. Nice to be able to take off right from your yard. I think I'd fly a lot more if I could do that.
Nice, thanks for the ride
I'm not knocking training. But there is a risk that training can instill a sense of complacency. You just do as your instructor tells you without understanding what's behind the instruction. 1 Wing and 1 Motor, there's many reasons modern jets are safer than a paramotor! Stay safe!
the landing in first person is trippy to me
This is why we use checklists!
So what’s with the big ol' UFO on the opposite side of the sky as the sun? Nice video!
Aaron Moses what time ?
That's the moon if you're talking about 14:30 for example
Hey im new to the channel. But im curious what paramotor and wing set-up are you using?
Even put it on the tail. Nice.
Looks like your unit has a ton of vibration at idle.
Woody, please don't die my brother. Love PKA !!!
Audio was great!
idk how tf i got to paramotoring videos on youtube... I don't even do paramotoring. But it certainly looks cool
Woody you had my heart beating out of my chest and I was literally shaking in my safe little computer chair please be more careful in future.
by the way, I like how you have started acknowledging the outro again, and I enjoy both that and that outro itself.
Im amazed at your beautiful house please mentor me so I can get one
Get lucky with a minecraft server.
Woody! I love your HONESTY and your HUMILITY ... awesome!! when you make a mistake especially a simple one just SHOW IT so others can LEARN, and you are "SAVING LIVES" YOU have saved lives in at least 2 ways.
Way one how to PREVENT the problem and
Way 2 how to DEAL with it.
Woody You are SAVING LIVES with these videos. AWESOME !!!
His house and yard looks like a plantation tbh.
I want to see you flying sometime I drive by on I-40 lol
Great video as usual, what watch are you using?
Jeeze Louise I was so scared for you.
What wing is that?
Do you like it?
hands on kinda people make hands on mistakes that sometimes cost them their lives.
If your property was in the U.K. At that size ,They would be running coach tours and selling tickets. Haha.😊👍
He would be Lord Woody xD
that sounds like a fresh breeze
I don't get why people are so angry about a misleading title, i mean its not like this guy is compensated by tricking people into watching a video they normally wouldn't want to watch... oh wait...
