The teenagers and adults of the 1970's were blessed with extremely beautiful music. Freda has blessed millions of people with this extremely precious song. Great song great voice!
I was 5 yrs old when this song came out. I remember my mama singing this song around the house (she had a beautiful singing voice). My mom and dad would be dancing in the kitchen, with me, getting in the way, my mom would say! LOL!
Freda Payne looks super gorgeous in this 1971 Soul Train treasured classic, P.S. Some of those dancers had the biggest fro hairstyles ever, that is another 1970's treasured gem!!
As a 14 year old in 74' I remember singer to this song. 50 years later when I hear it on the music channel or car radio I TURN IT UP.! and still sing it. Freda Payne was and still is one pretty lady.! Miss the 70's😢
I was 16 when this came out. I had just started going out and sneaking into the Top Rank ballroom in Liverpool. When this used to come on it would put Soul Train to shame. Now at nearly 70 I still get my groove on and sing along.
I watched this on tv while at Fort Riley Kansas, Big Red one! Loved it then and now! One funny thing about then We watched this in the game room cause it was the only TV in the entire Barracks! Our CO had one private stand at the TV holding the antenna so we had no interference.
Makes me wonder where all these people are today? I look at all those faces and wonder. If you could take the people that are gone and keep the people that are still here. I wonder how many people would be on that dance floor? Life is just too short.
Still love this song after all these years. My husband and I were talking about it just the other day, recalling his time in training camp when it played all the time.
Lovely song ahead of its time. She was so beautiful and accomplished. Also early Soul Train a little more innocent time, and a toy train not the big stroker train lol.
especially the 2 cats after the breakdown towards the bottom of the screen.. one had a yellow shirt on and one had a white shirt on.. they broke it down with the beat... like they didn't have a routine!!... get it ya'll...
we all are human even me and i am 5ft 7 short mexican in love with my big little lady who is 5ft 11 tall american indian with black dad . man she is to die for and soo sweet to me
It looks like high schoolers in the crowd dancing. Girl in the back with black on and the Princess Leah hairstyle is gorgeous I wonder how she looks today.
he said sorry so let forgive him , and yes she can sing and i love her facial expressions too cute when she sain waited in my lonley room dang soo cute
your a good man and you got a gooc missus ;) indeed bro carry on and rock the hell out of some zepp . i would love to come see your neck of the woods someday i here that its awsome and clean air lol . i live in lawndale ca. bout 4 miles from the beach and the air still sucks
I prefer the 45 track on Invictus (one of the first on this label in UK) yes this was big here (No 1 in 1970) pressed by EMI as had been Tamla Motown but the release legalities really caused complications and delays both sides of the pond which also affected the Hot Wax releases.
hang tuff bro it may be you lack self confidense , i not bragging but ive always had the gift of gab i find that you make them smile and laugh and things just fall into place . not to mention i have hair down to my waist and most asian and black woman love my curly hair . but my self esteem comes from high school boxing club and kenpo karate lol can still kick some butt if needed i keep limber enough to kick 6ft person smack on the head , but i never use violence just food for thought mate God b
Shame on our host for erasing her voice from the live performance, and dubbing in her studio album's sound. It is outrageous, that an artist travels to an event (that takes time and preparation, etc), sings her heart out on stage, *to be heard*, and then some self-entitle host uses his laptop and pisses away her vocals. Raise your hand if you think that our host got permission from Edsel Records to edit their property.
That is one beautiful lady.
You are 💯 correct.

One of the songs i remember most from my early childhood. I was born in 66 and remember this being a big hit in late 1970.
Freda Payne looks super gorgeous in this 1971 Soul Train treasured classic, P.S. Some of those dancers had the biggest fro hairstyles ever, that is another 1970's treasured gem!!

What a wonderful time it was to be alive but in those days. What Id give to go back.
likewise.. I was 15.
Man, I was in LOVE with Freda back then! Still a great, great song after all these decades later.
First single I ever bought at age 12/13. Good days.
I watched this on tv while at Fort Riley Kansas, Big Red one! Loved it then and now! One funny thing about then We watched this in the game room cause it was the only TV in the entire Barracks! Our CO had one private stand at the TV holding the antenna so we had no interference.

Can't beat the songs of the sixties and seventies!!. I remember this song when I was about 8, still fresh, still a great song!!!
That's a catchy tune for sure! A classic!
If times had been different, she would have been a superstar like Whitney.
That’s a lie
I don't think she would have stolen Dolly Parton's song .

Dolly Parton - I Will Always Love You
Whitney singing voice was amazing even when singing other people's songs.

She is absolutely gorgeous. Wow. It was hard to tell from the grainy original music video for the song.
Yes my most favorite song from my beautiful Queen! ❤With our Good Times tv hairdos ✊🏿✊🏾✊🏽

An all-time favorite!!
my fave song ever...a young girl who sang in her bedroom mirror with a hairbrush
Makes me wonder where all these people are today? I look at all those faces and wonder. If you could take the people that are gone and keep the people that are still here. I wonder how many people would be on that dance floor? Life is just too short.
I like that there's no fatso's on the dance floor unlike today's obesity rate in society.
a true artist.....wow
Still love this song after all these years. My husband and I were talking about it just the other day, recalling his time in training camp when it played all the time.

Happy Birthday Miss Payne!
Lovely song ahead of its time. She was so beautiful and accomplished. Also early Soul Train a little more innocent time, and a toy train not the big stroker train lol.

Damn that the type of young beautiful lady I would love to marry right now today ❤❤❤
😂l was a sophomore in hi school .really dig freda.
Arrrr no Crappy Rap Music Back Then. Just Soothing Songs and Melodic Music and Psychedelic Playgrounds.😊👍
This would be an awesome house music remix with a strong baseline track
I love ❣️ this!
Make me a particular emotions when i listen this classic Soul tune!!!
❤❤❤one of my first crushes, wow ❤❤❤❤
especially the 2 cats after the breakdown towards the bottom of the screen.. one had a yellow shirt on and one had a white shirt on.. they broke it down with the beat... like they didn't have a routine!!... get it ya'll...
I had a crush on Freda Payne 😂..love her songs.
we all are human even me and i am 5ft 7 short mexican in love with my big little lady who is 5ft 11 tall american indian with black dad . man she is to die for and soo sweet to me
Freda Payne I would love to marry you but everytime I see you or watch your video my heart stops just how gorgeous and beautiful you are ❤❤😂
She was an incredibly beautiful woman, I waited years for the follow up that never was.
Those 👀 are everything😃
love you, missy
more than 2x, hunni.
That's a fine ass woman right there...dammit man! Too bad I was born eight years after this episode lol
It looks like high schoolers in the crowd dancing. Girl in the back with black on and the Princess Leah hairstyle is gorgeous I wonder how she looks today.
Freda Payne. A hit in 1970, not 71.
True
Yes but this performance was in 1971
Great song and a beautiful lady.but I wish people would stop calling Freda a "one hit wonder" she's had a successful career wi plenty of albums.
The kids we're only 15 and 16 years old boy I have times changed
he said sorry so let forgive him , and yes she can sing and i love her facial expressions too cute when she sain waited in my lonley room dang soo cute
Who cares if it is a one hit wonder. It's a great song 🤩
She used to be on the cover of jet magazine back in the 70s what a sexy lady back then
thanks bro feel like some cooper
your a good man and you got a gooc missus ;) indeed bro carry on and rock the hell out of some zepp . i would love to come see your neck of the woods someday i here that its awsome and clean air lol . i live in lawndale ca. bout 4 miles from the beach and the air still sucks
Nrver got the bsnd of gold
The beauty looks a little like diamne carrol
Aint no colour in music.
For a one hit wonder she's ridden this for 54 yrs...good for her.
She had other songs that were good they just didn't get that much airplay
Do you feel that way about Margaritaville or It’s not unusual?
She's NOT a one hit wonder.
I’d ridden that for 50 years
Definitely not a one-hit wonder. This song was #1….most artists don’t have a ton of #1’s. She also had “Bring the Boys Home” - anti-war protest
they was dancing they butts off.. people still do these dances today
I prefer the 45 track on Invictus (one of the first on this label in UK) yes this was big here (No 1 in 1970) pressed by EMI as had been Tamla Motown but the release legalities really caused complications and delays both sides of the pond which also affected the Hot Wax releases.
DUDEIN DAH PURPLE AT 2:08 IS HILARIOUS!
Cassie Ventura Reminds me of her
Hmm turquoise shirts and mulberry dungaree cut-offs, I guess this was the 70s alright!
Hot pants🙃
1970 !
Do you have the full episode??
Diane carrol

She looks like something out of STAR TREK!
Yep beautiful!!
You can tell she hates lip syncing. She is way more enthusiastic when singing for real.
Nowadays with all the kooks in the world a performer would never be shoulder to shoulder with an audience.
How are you doing?
Sorry,,,,,band of gold was recorded in 1970..........I've kept track of F.P. ❤
I didnt know that performers lipsync then/or is this made with studio recording over top of the LIVE ??
:-)
far as i can cursorily tell, she lip syncs only here.
