Hey man, just for future reference the material used for skate rails and a lot of similar applications is Delrin, it’s a super slippery plastic and works great for things like this
This is pretty badass. I just recently got my first ever full sized bike last year. A 2012 KTM 200 XC-W. I LOVE the bike so much haha. I put a full new plastics kit on it as well as a new graphics kit and seat. The bike came in pretty good condition so I didn't have to do all that you're doing, but eventually I'm sure I'll have to. I'm glad you went with the 2014+ front end. I think the 17+ plastics definitely look the best. You're making it very hard for me to resist not riding right now in the snow! lol
Just a comment to the welding portion (I’m only 2:37 into the video) That estimated time to fix that is a hard no lol. That’s maybe a 30 min fix for the subframe, including setup and cleanup. The cast swing arm is not hard either just requires a fair amount of prep. I weld cast cases in my shop pretty frequently, you have to clean the part ridiculously well, then bake it to bring all the oils to the surface and clean again. I like to do this process two or three times before starting the weld on cast.
That front end is absolutely sick! Welding aluminum is absolutely and art, im trying to learn aluminum welding myself, it takes alot of time and patience but its absolutely a skill worth picking up!
Yay new vid good luck. I have an idea I hope this gets to you instead of giving away a bike fix someone else’s bike that entered for it. Nice work on the vids I will definitely keep watching
The cutting board idea was really sick suggestion from the skater guy! They’re usually pretty cheap at least but I’ll be interested to see how it works out
Great videos. Inspired me to take my craft to another level. A suggestion for the skids you intended to use, acetal or Delrin plastics work great and are not too expensive.
Have you looked into coat-it? It's an epoxy style coating, has a part A and part B. But is meant for the bottom of drift boats and slides over rocks in the river. You could just paint the plate with that
Hell yeah man super stoked on this build, I’ve watched all your other ones. I just got a 2012 Ktm 300 that I’m gonna be doing some work on. This is gonna turn out sick. Put out some more trail riding videos, Montana is beautiful!
Nice build and have had a couple of 200's over time including a 2016 currently. I'm sure your suspension tuner is all over it, but just be aware that there are a few geometry/trail/offset changes that you have done with your front end swap. AER forks are normally 950mm length. The Open Chambers you took off will most likely be 940mm, so you now likely have an extra 10mm in your fork length (easily accounted for by sliding forks up in the clamps). Second is the fork lug offset - the AER has 2mm less offset than your old OC's (often referred to as small axle lugs vs large axle lugs and why you needed a different front axle). You can catch that back with your triple clamp offset (i.e small axle lug with a 22mm offset clamp = large axle lug with a 20mm clamp) so worth checking what offset the old cast clamps were and what your new billet clamps are (the offset is normally the last two numbers in the part # stamped on the clamps). Of course, not everything has to be stock length/offset etc, but if you know what has changed vs stock, it will help you dial in that front end when it is all together.
Thanks a ton for the well thought out comment. Truthfully I haven’t considered much of this and am just planning to try it and see how it feels. All great things to consider and play with if I feel changes are needed. Thank you!
I guess with the new front end a 2008 - 2011 restyle kit would fit perfectly on the bike. Easy to install on this look and in my opinion looks a lot better than the style till 2007. Awesome vids man love every single one of them. Greetings from Germany ✌🏼
Doesn't look like it. It would need a 14+ as the front fender if mounted with 2 on the underside and 2 on the front. I have a 2012 and all 4 are on the underside of the fender.
I did the same thing you did with the screw hole in the swingarm and then i did a little dab of jb weld and covered it with the swing arm cerakoted you cant even tell it was there
DUDE! I just spent 250 at moto sport I wish I knew an hour ago. I've had my fair share of issues with rocky mountain and returns. So they dont get much love from me....
Dude, no worries! Bookmark it for the future and it helps out! Rocky Mtn is generally pretty great but yeah kinda of a bummer for the 2 times I want to return things every year that they make it difficult when I have literally spent tens of thousands of dollars over the years!
How different does the bike ride/ handle with the foam tubes rather from the air tubes in the tires? I’ve thought about getting some but don’t know pros/cons if there are any (besides not getting flats)
In general bike has much better traction with mousses. They feel like a lower PSI than you would run in your tubes, and allow the tire to conform to rocks and obstacles better. There is a bit of a "dead" feel since they don't rebound like a tube; some guys like that, some don't. Overall the pros all seriously outweigh any cons in my opinion. They're awesome.
That weird hole on the swingarm is also present on my 2004 KTM 200. I thought it was just a weird hole that got drilled but now I'm wondering if it's stock or a go-to mod of sorts. Anybody know what's up with that?
You do realise that your bar clamps are not right for this tripple clamp? Your bar clamp is for the directly mounted style, not the systems in rubbers.
I did not realize and should have paid more attention while I was kind of rushing through that day of progress! Makes sense given the shape and Urmosi has the correct adapter on the way, will resolve in the next episode 👍🏻
Dafuq you rebuild your complete suspension to tighten the stuff up in the triple clamps with a rattle gun . Dude use the torque wrench for this highly important screws 😬
This feels like one of those restoring TV shows, feels nostalgic, also that intro mounting the skidpalte was straight out of a movie

Kincade, such an awesome video, as always it’s a great pleasure watching you channel.
Pleasure having ya!
Love Ktms so have fun fixing it
I have to tell you, you are very specific with explanations of exactly what you are doing. Such great content.
This thing is looking sick so far. I'm stoked to see the continued progress

Try kydex material for the underside of the skid plate.
Love your builds and hope we see more builds in the future.
Thanks for the video. I’m always looking forward to them
I run the shinko fatty front & 525 cheater rear on my setup and i absolutely love it.

It's so great to see this bike going back together finally! Been waiting on this video!

@@xxshiftlockxxoh sorry i mean not the front but the shrouds and tail plastics. I saw a lot of Exc models till 2007 with the 2008-2011 plastics
@@nonamer1330 Ah ok that makes sense
I use acetone to remove sticker residue. It’s cheap and works better that anything else I’ve tried.
Nice video, would love to come out to Colorado
Nice won't be long 'til your styling like Mani !
_NICE KTM !!!, nice Video. Greetigs._

I wonder what that hole is there for? 2nd comment of someone saying there’s had it too
I have a 2007 250 XC-w that has the same hole for a guard to keep mud off the chain.
sick bike
Love the videos bro keep it up
I can do my workouts while watching your videos great music:) ha ha
That 200 is going to be nice.
Keep up the good work IceRink ;)
5:30 I love a bit of sweet revenge! Do they think bearings go bad or something. haha
Love the vids bro
Would a 125 front axle be the same as a 250

Thanks mom ❤️
Did you need to get an adapter to fit the new style KTM front fender? Havent seen that before, would love to do that to my 07 as well. Great build!
These are completely different triple clamps! This fender would not fit older KTM triples without mods.
@@KincadePavich Ah fair, I guess I’ll need to get new triple clamps haha
So I could put 18 to 2024 clamps and forks on my 2005 300 exc ?
Im rebuilding a 99 yz125, and im planning on using a blue plastic barrel to make a skid plate/linkage guard. Any thoughts?
Nice 👍
You mentioned a lot of parts soutces that I did not know existed...will you publish a list?
There are links to each company I talk about in the description!

Those subframes were chronically hairline cracked like that. Mine are the same way.
Surprised to hear that about Rocky Mountain. I've always had great experiences with their customer service. That's disappointing on them for sure.
Daj više snimaj ovakvih videa🙏
Customer Service at Rocky Mountain is definitely lacking! Can't wait to see the video of the race. Good Luck.
I see what you did with the thumbnail gif lol
Haha say what?
These triples won’t be any good! Steering angle won’t be enough. I no because I mounted up a set of 22 triples to a 04. Year that works well is 18-20
that welding job would not take 1-2 hours😂😂
or super moto 450 swapped 110
