- GPM or PSI - What's The Difference In A Pressure Washer?
Which is more important? The flow rate or the pressure?
That's what we'll be talking about in this video

Useful info. With good psi you can get any job done,. Even if you've got low gpm, just means it'll take longer but not the other way around. Horses for courses.
👍
I have an industrial triplex general pump rated 5000 psi at 10gpm and i rebuilt it twice in 8 years using it all day every day. I guarantee it can't push 10 gallons through those tiny jets in 1 minutes... absolutely no fkn way. The psi is higher than I'll ever need. I can blast my through a concrete wall if I was determined
Great advice , I'm looking into those heads and this is the info you need to know . Red would be cleaning paths not cars for me it seems .
Right on
I came up on your video looking to find an answer for this question. I am looking to do a DYI sprinkler system and came up with the question of do i look for a pump that has a high LPH or High PSI. looking to run about 6 sprinklers off a rain collecting system. Would like to run them all at once, even if i cant i would be ok with splitting them into 3 zones since it would be maybe 3 to 4 times a year that i would use them since we get pretty good rain in GA. only when we go on a couple weeks dry spell that i would want to water my grass. So hopefully you might have an answer for that regarding would PSI or LPH GPH. Thanks
Great video! Thanks Matt
No worries, and thanks again... Will be using them more and highlighting them in future videos 👍
I'm looking at 2 different pressure washers. One is 2.8 GPM and the other 3.0 GPM. Would there be a noticeable difference in the .2 GPM?
Realistically you'll be fine 👍
I've got a Karcher K7 which has variable pressure and I typically always use the 2nd setting for all applications. I have found poor snow foam performance when I've accidentally reduced the pressure to 1 bar. Not sure how easy it is to replace the gun on my machine as it's Bluetooth to the main unit?
Mmmm.... It should be possible. But I don't have experience with that machine.
When talking about pressure washer, the flow shouldn't be a concern. Honestly the less flow and more pressure should be more efficient since you don't really want to be using that much water. Like the other fella here said, his 5k psi pressure washer is using 10 gpm. That would probably be with the weakest nozzle.
I do 950psi at 2.4gpm, 4.5 40 degree tip, I think it's perfect ✖️✖️💯
Nice 👍
Useful video Matt 👍
Thanks 👍
What about pressure washer that draw water from an external source such as a barrel
Again, not much you can do in regards to improving flow as it'd be gravity fed or down to the pump of the pressure washer
From a water butt or similar you’ll just draw the max flow rate of the pressure washer (in an ideal situation). From a tap your limited by the flow rate of that supply, so if you’ve got a high flow rate pressure washer you could run into issues
Got links for the nozzles
Sorry, here you go

Now with 20 years of experience to Me GPM is more important or at least 2.5 GPM and white nozzle for washing vehicles.
2.5 to wash cars? Lol
Flow rate measuring is different for consumers and Industrial.
Both are important
