Mas as café racer, o estilo neo-retro e o charme à antiga sempre me seduziram.
Even thought I love cafe racer bikes and the creativity of their builders, I can't stand seeing them riding in t-shirt, sneakers, no gloves and snowboard helmet. Does a cafe racer means no security needed? Even for Photoshootings, the bike looks a lot better with an appropriate full-gear. And I mean also vintage clothing etc.
Using the original headlights was perfectly fine. And give the build a bit of integrity. The headlights instead of bare headlight housing could benefit from a small red housing that they mount into adding red color onto the other side of the fork. Also Making the cables and wires less busy but preserving still that street fighter look
I've searched these comments for a solution to the only dislike I have for this otherwise spectacular build - a housing for those bare headlights. Were it my bike, I'd fit slightly smaller, twin, square headlights into a housing that would still "embrace" the original theme.
Nicely done Billy! I'm wondering if the name X-Axis came after this project seeing that axis was the base's of this build from my perspective. As you pointed out Victor, the design of the motorcycle is usually the attraction of the motorcycle. Which in this case is hard to deny. Billy has a good eye for design but equally is talented in fabrication giving him lots of opportunities in custom motorcycle design. Showcasing his project on Racer TV should bump his status as a builder as well. Thank you for bringing his talents to us viewers on a bike others might see differently from now on.
Interesting. But I believe the X-Axis name was created before this Honda CBX. To be honest, I think Billy is no longer on custom build scene. But let's just hope this video may change things for him. Thank you my friend for your kind comment. :) Cheers.
This looks stunning. The other thing I love about it, with the GIGANTIC GAP between the back wheel and the rear sub-frame, it proves that the seat height is a DESIGN CHOICE. It's not a mandatory height that all seats have to be that height. I'm 5'1" and have been riding bikes for years (since 1986). So I've developed a coping strategy to for putting my foot down at a stop, when riding. Sitting half-on and half off the saddle, extending my leg AND my foot, and just using one toe to prop up the bike I've been able to ride bikes like the 2018 Z1000 perfectly happily (although precariously when I come to a standstill). How good would it be if I could take THIS BIKE, chop off the sub-frame and take it down by at least 2" (hopefully more!)? I've never had the money to be able to get this done on any of my bikes, but I wish this guy - because he's so damn good at customising - would take it upon himself to make a bike for those with short legs (women as well!), that DON'T WANT a "custom", "bobber" or "lowrider" style bike, or a "beginner bike" but want a PROPER Cafe-racer/Flat-tracker kind of thing going on. Just like this bike. This bike to me is ACHINGLY close to what I've always wanted, but as usual, the mandatory high seat height completely spoils it. Great work nevertheless. Beautiful clean lines, classic 80's bulletproof UJM, and I LOVE the twin square lights!
I understand, and I completely agree with you. But unfortunately, the Builder didn't sent me any video footage. But if you check BikeExif video(ua-cam.com/video/P1MnbtG7mtE/v-deo.html), you can hear the engine sound at the end of the video. :) Cheers.
Well Victor, I have to say that I am a fan of the "Street Fighter" style of custom bikes, However, there are few lines of this design that my eyes are struggling with ! While I might sound critical of the design, I can't say that I have any other suggestions to further clean up the lines here. I might be very wrong, but the lines seem to be fighting, or clashing with each other ! I might be stirring up a proverbial hornet's nest here, but while I can see the direction they are going for Victor, I think it is still missing the full potential of what the bike could be ! It's just not quite there yet for me !
Hi. Interesting perspective. Somehow, I think I see your point. Looks good, but something is missing. Let's just hope for the future, that someone can improve this approach, to the level of perfection that you(And I) would love to see. :) Thank you my friend for sharing your opinion. :) Cheers.
@@RACER_TV That perspective is coming from a guy who is doing everything possible to copy a design from some guy who knows a thing or two about design ! It's called "Frankenstein" ! Out of the getting hard to find CX650 ! I will simply call it my tribute to "Frankenstein" Victor ! One of these days, I am going to get with you on the complete build list again ! I actually think the same level of design perfection is possible with this specific Honda as well, some of the most difficult of bikes can end up with the best outcome when you aren't willing to settle for anything less than perfection ! Here's to the perfect design !!!
Thank you my Dear friend for all your kind words. Maybe you should wait for my Yamaha XS 650 to be finished. Because I think you will like it even more than with Frankenstein. :) Cheers.
@@RACER_TV Now then, Aren't we just two peas in a pod Victor ! Sitting right next to my CX650, sits my next project, and Yamaha XS650, waiting for me to complete the "Frankenstein tribute" bike to be finished ! And then, on to my XS650 Victor ! Excited to see what your touch will be on the great XS650 ! GREAT MINDS THINK ALIKE !
I see that you are also very lucky for having those 2 great motorcycles. :) Personally, I think my XS project is much simpler than Frankenstein, but it will have the perfect proportions of a classic old motorcycles from the 60's. I am sure you are going to love it as much as I do. :)
I did like you to talk about the top gun motorcycle so therefore can you talk about the motorcycle we see on the last movie of Batman from what ive seen It looks like a cafe racer
Does look well, shame the wheel sizes stayed rather than something a bit more muscular, same with the swingarm. Rear end remibds me of a Ducati Monster.
Shame, beautiful bike BUT you totally ruined it by shortening the frame and seat area TOO MUCH Too small. I used to have a CBX I know those Headlights very well.
The guys are riding the bike with no gloves on, no mirrors and no number plate. Give me a break. The Robot computer voice doesn't help. Still a gutless bike. I'll stick with my Gen 2 'Busa.
As I said during the video the square headlights is the most controversial choice on this project. But judging from most comments on this video, it seems most people loved it. :) Cheers.
@@RACER_TV Cafe and Custom bikes are all awesome in their own right. I guess when you remodel or build your own you have to be happy with the bike. I definately appreciate the individual and original design though.
Total mess, looks like some bloke has knocked that up in his garden shed. Anyway, what a complete waste of effort. Why on earth would you base any kind of special on a model that had a disastrously weak engine? These things used to knock out big ends for a pastime, the cam followers were made of something slightly softer than cheese as well.

I understand, and I completely agree with you. But unfortunately, the Builder didn't sent me any video footage. But if you check BikeExif video(ua-cam.com/video/P1MnbtG7mtE/v-deo.html), you can hear the engine sound at the end of the video. :) Cheers.
Aloha Racer, the #Manxley says Hi it was just wondering if the panels that tied in the tank were handmade or 3-D printed.👍🏍
Liked 💯👍
What brand are the mufflers? I love that they are short.
Please check BikeExif Video at this link:ua-cam.com/video/P1MnbtG7mtE/v-deo.html Cheers.
what is the size of the rear and front tires?
Well Victor,
I have to say that I am a fan of the
"Street Fighter" style of custom bikes,
However, there are few lines of this design that my eyes are struggling with !
:) Cheers.

That perspective is coming from a guy who is doing everything possible to copy a design from some guy who knows a thing or two about design !
It's called "Frankenstein" !
Out of the getting hard to find CX650 !
I will simply call it my tribute to
"Frankenstein" Victor !
:) Cheers.

Now then,
Aren't we just two peas in a pod Victor !
Only the front lights don't blend with the rest of the design, otherwise beautiful
Does look well, shame the wheel sizes stayed rather than something a bit more muscular, same with the swingarm. Rear end remibds me of a Ducati Monster.
To be different you need to build different ...!
Indeed. :) Cheers.
REPUBLICA ARGENTINA
👍🏽💯
no license plate and mirror are a boost to looks great..but there's no proportion between mini tail and swingarm lenght . it's a big no for me🙃
Linda
Obrigado amigo. Fico contente que tenha gostado. :) Um abraço.
I have a lot of respect for the work professionals put into cafe racers but the majority are an eye sore
Cade o som ????
🤤
I just wanna to hear it…
Sorry, as nice as it is, it is not a KAWASAKI.
Indeed. But I think this is the kind of approach, that could also work on the GPZ 900. :) Cheers.
Exhaust looks crap needs to be bit longer and flipped up
Shame, beautiful bike BUT you totally ruined it by shortening the frame and seat area TOO MUCH
Too small. I used to have a CBX I know those Headlights very well.
The guys are riding the bike with no gloves on, no mirrors and no number plate. Give me a break. The Robot computer voice doesn't help. Still a gutless bike. I'll stick with my Gen 2 'Busa.
Shame about the headlights.
Amazing!
