    • @thepastarat
      @thepastarat Рік тому +1

      @@bobcooter ??? A lot of the games don't have much strategy you can implement. roulette, craps, slot machines, all have low house edge, but still an edge. Even blackjack can only be strategized so much without counting cards which isn't allowed. On top of that, most of the money that comes in is from people who know how to play and spend more money. No one is going to drop thousands of dollars on games that need strategy like poker.
      Also, casinos have regulations they have to follow, especially the big ones. Not only is it illegal for them to rig odds (which you can't really do for most casino games anyway), they have no reason to. A 2% edge is all they need to make plenty of money, and any more than that is going to decrease the "winnings" of they're customers, which means less people returning.
      The whole idea is to make it seem like you have a decent chance of winning, and increasing the edge beyond what's necessary is going to hurt them more than help them.

    A 2% edge only works when you apply the central limit theorem, playing thousands of games with the same edge per day.

    yeah, the term "The house always wins" isn't a lie. The most straight forward example of that is in roulette. You can bet on specific numbers, but you can also just bet on black or red. Which might be thought of as 50/50, but there's 2 green spots too 0 and 00, which tips those odds so that even if you bet on the safest option, you're still going to lose more than half the time.

    jamming here if he likes to pop big with AK is a decent play, but really only if at least 1 of 2 conditions are met imo. 1 he has to actually have the ability to fold a small percentage of the time or 2 you need to have a bankroll that can withstand those types of swings. (think 100x the buyin minimum)
