Dope interview, em should've signed Master Ace, he heavily influenced Em. You can literally hear it in a lot of his music, especially the earlier stuff. Ace is a Beast!
@@prof3ssor178 What the fuck is that supposed to me? His catalogue is literally better than every single rapper on shady records with the exception of em........
Two facts: 1. Masta Ace made his choice of being an independent musician way before this interview, he was not happy doing music for the industry and decided to do everything his way. Eminem probably understand this and couldn't offer Ace what he wanted, which is not exactly money and fame, and Ace would probably not accept either, even though they respect and like each other. 2. Eminem is a beast, but Masta Ace is a Hip Hop legend, comparable to names like Rakim, Nas and Guru. Eminem is definitely great, but imho he is not on Ace's level at all, even though Ace acknowledges Eminem as a being better with rhymes than him. Eminem's songs are funny, shady, aggressive, on point, but Ace's albums paints a clear and vivid picture of his life experience and feelings, the places he has been, where most of the things are connected to tell a same story across multiple albums, and to which multiple people across the globe can relate and get to know a reality that isn't theirs. It's just timeless, it never gets old. I'm not saying that you people are wrong by preferring Eminem or anything, but don't treat Masta Ace like he's a broken ass rapper, a loser that couldn't make it in the rap game. He is a living Hip Hop legend who's been active since 88 with an untouchable work and it is visible he is happy with his work and life in general.
MASTA ACE SLAUGHTERHOUSE is so underrated, it's an absolute fucking classic, it's one of the most street without being thug albums I've ever heard, it had a sound which I believe at the time was the most underground real hip hop sound that has ever been produced, in fact it's so damn good it's back in my car and aces voice is one of a kind, can't believe it's not up there with Nas illmatic as far as most important albums in hip hop
How the fuck did em not hear one of the classics?!! Hellbound is my shit from yeeeeears ago and one of the things that turned me on to em...brought me to this interview as well
Amazing, one of my classics too, nobody ever mentions it and ace never gets credit, there are virtually no comments in comments section on slaughterhouse album
Whenever you hear Em spit someone’s verse on how much he respects them shows he’s always been a student of the game. This white man has so much love for hip-hop and it’s pretty selfish how a few blacks wanna be so stingy to something as many are out here playing ball and doing lots of other stuff being recognized and respected, yet many won’t give Em the love and respect that he deserves even as a guest. I ain’t got none against Marshall, Em one of the best.
theres a short video clip interview promoting some new jordan shoes from 08 where he still has a bit of his excess weight, but hes sober. There's a couple of radio interview also from late 08 when he was releasing his "way i am" book.
Eminem + Slim shady + Marshall Mathers = The Holy RAP Trinity.... 1-G.O.A.T, 2-RAP GOD, 3-ALIEN. He's a top tier lyricist that always respects the GREATS b4 him, always practices his craft, is humble and stayed in his lane from the beginning and hasn't changed for no one. The HATERS = SECRET LISTENERS WHO LOVE HIS SWAG, But front cause he's " WHITE "......If that wasn't the case they'd be swinging from the nut sack. He keeps breaking records, all while being the only dude from 2000's still rockin it nd on TOP....And when they want him to come down after talking smack he answers back nd ends careers. Just on another level all toghether...And there are levels to this shit...lol...he's LEAGUES ABOVE THEM LEVELS. So they need to get that work in to catch up because This Right Here is HISTORY!!!!.... KEN KENIFF OUT!.........
You know how white people always snitch on shit that has nothing to do with them? That's what you doing right now Karen Masta Ace is right there and he has no problem with em, even wanted to be on a track with em in 2001, he's the one who played hellbound for em...so
Who was bumpin em in the hoods??🤣🤣🙄 we was listening to music we were going thru n experienced, em came with odd weird lyrics n stolen masta ace glow,em is not an originator
I mean rappers had weird lyrics before Em you know that right? Like you are gonna act like you never heard of Biggie? It's a style of rap and its okay if you dont like it. Em has fans from all parts of the world and the hoods included(He influenced rappers hinself). I think you should listen Em, he has variety of topics and styles, and he is very respectful of the culture in which he operates.
Ace spittin' Eminem's verse on Hellbound made me smile. Shout out to both lyrical legends.
Imagine Eminem on Disposable Arts
OMFG just imagine that
Till this day Disposable Arts is one of the greatest albums ever done
Ace is an underrated legend and you can definitely hear his influence on Em.
This whole interview used to be on here but disappeared. Glad this was uploaded. Another example of how Em is a student of the genre.
I started respecting Em style of rapping so much more when I heard Ace was his biggest influence and it connected like "ooh shit, I can hear it".

Masta Ace is great, but Not Shady enough to be on Shady records
@@prof3ssor178 that's irrelevant, Em probably would've signed him just on the fact that he was one of his idols

It goes to show that some people are so talented that they don’t see the true value in their work
Because he's recorded a million other songs, and it was unreleased.
i found hellbound labelled as zelda freestyle on limewire years ago, and em hasnt heard it lol

I wish eminem would make an album with all his peers he lookd up to

This is the first time me finding any media of Eminem from 2008 he literally done zero to nothing that year for obvious reasons though
@imnotfliptop7958 that album king Mather’s is real cause Eminem mentions it’s existence in revival on castle
