THIS IS HOW YOU DO A BLOW OUT ! if you been to another hairstylist who doesn't do it this way STOP HIM OR HER ! any other way has the potential to damage your hair ! your hair should still be thick after it not sleek to the point it looks like asian hair ! also a flat iron should not need to be used ! flat irons are where most of your heat damage happens ! Lucy's Salon did a great job ! and always remember to love your natural hair no matter how bad you think straight is a requirement ! :)
wrong! heat damage happens from repeatedly using heat especially not using a protectant! u cant say what is right or wrong for someone...also a professional knows how to use heat and not fry the hair
THANK YOU LUCY! Finally a real Dominican Blowout. Rollerset and blow out the curls and it doesn't break your hairs at all. These new videos are silk presses fronting like Dominican Blowouts.
Dominicanstylist beautiful !! I would love to know what all hair products you used to get the look and the type of blow dryer that is . I would really appreciate it 🥰
Stop with the race shit and lets talk about hair. Her hair was so beautiful both before and after and what a beautiful woman she is! Love her skin color and her lovely features. She could be a model!
Travel Diva That is my biggest issue w/ the roller set, I mean what's the point on rolling it sitting under a dryer all that time, just to completely comb out all the curls and round brush it with MORE heat. You can completely skip the roller set part and just use a brush and blow dryer and get the same results with the same amount of body.
Multi Sassy no you cant. The roller set makes it easier to blowdry the hair and get it strait, that's why Dominican blowouts always look like perms because the blowdryer straightens and stretches the hair from the root to end.
Danika Brown What do you mean "no you can't" If I go to a Dominican Salon for a blow out, I am not obligated to have them do every step. If I'm happy with the roller set, I can be on my way. I know why the do the process, to achieve certain results. I just feel it's a lot of heat.
+Multi Sassy Of course they should stop at the roller set if that's all you wanted. I've been going to the salon since my teen years and have seen plenty of people just get the rollers and leave with their hair still rolled up.There are thousands of Dominican salons here in NYC.
This is one of the best Dominican blowouts I've ever seen. And she actually uses rollers and roller brush and takes her time with the hair and gets the hair laid. Extremely straight. It's very few that you see some this nice.
I found a new Dominican salon and i love it. They specialize in natural hair. I'm not natural but she makes me stretch my relaxers. My old stylist pressured me to get a relaxer every 8 weeks and she loved flat ironing my hair. Now i only get my roots blown out and im saving so much money. My hair is growing. I used to say dominicans cant do black hair. Looking back i was so ignorant. You have to do your research with any salon you go to. The same goes for doobie shops. Type in doobie shops around your area. Read the ratings!! When you go to a new salon tell them what your trying to achieve. Tell them to trim dont cut!! I'm saving money and my hair is growing. Thank you to all my Dominican stylist that actually take hair care serious.
The stylist is the bomb! I love how natural hair is so versatile personally I would have stopped with the roller set because those curls were so cute but this blow out looks so CUTE shrinkage is a BEAST all in all I love how Lucy hooked you head up Los loved the background music lol
NOW THIS IS A REAL DOMINICAN BLOWOUT. Every other video I've seen don't have the roller set down or don't use the correct brush to get the hair shiny and nice. Great Job.
This beautiful! I use to get a Dominican blow out years ago in Brooklyn NY. I had to stop! Once I reach the age of 55, I notice my hair was getting thin. I was walking down the street, and my head felt so light. It felt like I didn't have any hair on my head. My hair didn't feel thick any longer. Sure, it was bone straight and beautiful! Everytime time I touched my hair felt like I had missing hair. When I finally got, I noticed my hair around temples and crown were very thin! As much as I loved the outcome of the bone straight hair. Although, I had to stop! I'm 64 now and I have a head full of healthy hair again. I thank GOD, I had the since to stop! When you're getting older, you have to be easy on the hair!
I think the key is not to get it done often and to get a treatment prior to getting it blown out. I was wondering why the salons rollerset prior to blow drying and you answered my question - thank you.
very beautiful!I like the fact that no flat iron is used.Alot of tutorials for natural hair stylists use the flat iron which equals damage,I really enjoyed this video
Your hair is soooooo beautiful and the stylist did a fab job! I'm seriously thinking about having this technique done to my natural hair as well! I'm really suprised at some of the comments below, wow some people have a VERY long way to go!!
Being Dominican is not a race there are black Dominicans and more white looking Dominicans. Just like I am Trinidadian but that is not a race there are black, white, asian, hispanic and indian Trinidadians and it goes the same everywhere else. I'm still Trini even though I look black and that would be called Afro-Trinidadian.
Your very right you understand , because you are from the Caribbean too a lot of people get confused , some people don't understand that the are white Dominicans , mixed, and native Indian looking Dominicans the island is a big mixture , but mostly Blacks am a mixed Dominican , my dad was back and my mom is white, but when I tell people they still seem confused🇩🇴😨
There we go with that 'dominican denying their heritage bullshit' hot damnnn this shit is getting old and people are getting slower. Can we all just enjoy this woman doing some great work. Thankyou!
Omg that rollerset was stunning. I would have just left like that . This gave me an idea I suck at roller setting so I will just let the Dominicans do it 🤣
Hair came out beautiful! ! I used to get Dominican blowouts all the time. I go once in awhile now, but I usually skip the roller set just because I hate sitting there under the dryer lol. For people complaining about the heat, rolllersetting helps the hair stretch, create volume using INDIRECT heat. Plus when you use QUALITY Professional Products, your hair will be ok. You have to make sure you are taking care of your own hair as well at home. Good protein treatment after your first wash following the blowout will make your hair revert back and improve elasticity.
Dominican blowouts are for natural hair, alot of heat but all steps are necessary it last 3 wks to a month, the way we (black ppl) blowout plastic wrap the hair then go under the dryer last about a wk, it's not a race thing it's a hair thing if you don't do hair you wouldn't understand
shavone warren whaaattt?? It lasts that long??!! Im considering gettin one and id be more than happy if it lasts ONE week the way i sweat. I may give it a shot! Thx!
No hay mejor blower que el de República Dominicana...humilde opinión. Y por si acaso no soy Dominicana. Pero, admito que su técnica es espectacular...me encantaaaa.😍
BEAUTIFUL!! I live in VA and it's hard to find Dominican stylists that won't fry your hair! I wish I could come to you in Houston when I go to San Antonio at the end of the month!
getting my first dominican blowout tomorrow. my hair texture is exactly like yours so I'm looking forward to beautiful hair thanks to you! It was nice to see how the hair was in its wet form before the blowout. Definitely helped me with my decision!
I'm a hair stylist too and have heard of the DBO but never done it. What is the difference from a traditional blow, press and curl? Just wondering because I've read a lot of comments and women seem to love this technique.Seems like a lot of work, do you charge accordingly and how long does it usually take you from start to finish? I thought her hair looked lovely BTW.
Race is the color of your skin, i.e: Black, White, Yellow, etc. Nationality is the Nation in which you were born, i.e.: American, Dominican, African, etc. Ethnicity is your the culture/nationality of your ancestry, or what you are mixed with i.e: African-American, Dominican-American,etc. But this video was about hair wasn't it? It's funny how one word can throw off the whole comment section.
Beautiful results! ! Can someone explain to me why it was necessary to blow dry after she was already under the hooded dryer with a roller set? Just seems like alot of heat.
The hooded dryer dried her scalp and the outside of the hair shaft The blow dryer dried the actual hair and as it was doing so, it was being styled at the same time. No heat damage. Pure genius!
Great video. I've had my hair blow-dried straight in France, and never could find anyone in California to style it the same way. What products did you use in the client's hair, both when you put the rollers in and then when you blow-dried it?
Randy Acosta I think you have something mixed here. These women are expressing what they are not comfortable with, not necessarily slamming Dominican culture. And BTW I know MANY Dominican women in wigs and weaves. :-)
No he dicho nada ofensivo ni mucho menos. Simplemente dije lo que pienso. Es bueno respetar los métodos de cada peluquera.. Yo respeto todas. Y no he querido decir que l@s dominican@s no usan pelucas. Quise decir que tienen menos necesidad.
You're hair is so beautiful and healthy. Keep it up. I am a natural myself. It will be my first blow at the Dominican salon since I have been natural which is 2 years.
@Ripley1156 thanks. I think flat iron a relax hair its too much heat! cause its all ready relaxed...I have a Lot clients with relaxed hair with nice silky and healthy shiny hair! Of course its always depend who blow dry your hair! Some people just put too much heat in every one hair.. Each client hair its diferent and needs diferent atention.:) thanks for watching my videos.
That is beautiful!! I SOO LOVE IT. I have 2 daughters and for 2 years I've been trying to get there hair to look like that. I didn't see you use and chemicals. Are you telling me I can achieve this look on my girls without any chemicals? All I need is heat, brush & rollers?
I was just looking for a style for my daughter's hair type. They took this blow drying technique and made it into a race thing. If I move down to Houston at least I know where to get my daughter hair pressed out sometime. If Lucy can do my 4c hair, then she really got it going on!!! Hey Lucy...I didn't see you use any styling products, like leave ins or heat protectants. I need those.
I use to love getting my hair blown out but I use to experience so much breakage afterwards. Plus Dominicans are scissor happy and they act like they don't know how to comb natural hair from ends to roots. They practically rip your hair out. Never again.
Exactly many of them pretend to be hair stylist and dont know nothing. More than 3times they make me bald with a relaxer putting super in my hair. I never go back to them and I learn to do my hair and its almost waist length lnow.
Gorgeous beautiful, fantastic result. That's what I'd love to have done to my hair, shame that texture doesn't last for Longer though like a month with hair washes in between. I wonder how the Dominican blowout is done with treatments etc.
HI nikki dee ! I go to Dominican Divas on Dyre Ave. in the bronx. Mary or her daughter do our hair, but I've seen EVERY STYLIST in there work freakin' magic ! I moved to N.C. some years ago, and come back every year to get our hair done. My hair was bra length, natural. I got a relaxer and blow out for me & my daughter, under $100. good tip incluye. I left with hair to my waist. It lasts me 10 months, just do what she says to maintain it.
Man. She is one beautiful woman. 😍 Beautiful hair, beautiful skin, beautiful skin color, beautiful disposition.
I agree. She is glowing. Looks like she has a healthy regimen for her hair and skin.
John Doe Yes. I’m jealous.
She is gorgeous

Misty Gaillard yup I don't go to black hair salons anymore
@@RoyalOakTownCrew just because a person is certified to do hair, don't mean they actually know how to do hair. I've seen professionals mess up hair.
@@d1mples91 That's why I don't go to hairdressers anymore, plus the fact that their expensive.
THANK YOU LUCY! Finally a real Dominican Blowout. Rollerset and blow out the curls and it doesn't break your hairs at all.

yes I did!! I washed 3 to 4 times to make it really clean and I also did a deep conditioner on her,,,thank you for watchig my videos.
Dominicanstylist beautiful !! I would love to know what all hair products you used to get the look and the type of blow dryer that is . I would really appreciate it 🥰
you do so well wow its awesome i love your work
Can u tell me what blow dryer to buy
Stop with the race shit and lets talk about hair. Her hair was so beautiful both before and after and what a beautiful woman she is! Love her skin color and her lovely features. She could be a model!
But you talking about Race Liar
There wasn't nobody saying anything bad about any race. The comments are preferring to the roller set
I thought she should've stopped at the roller set. That looked pretty.

I always recommend wrapping your hair every night and use anti-humidity spray from rolland products.
This is a video about the process of a hair style. How did ethnicity come into play?
Shella Bella
🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️ Obviously because she has thick, coarse hair, and texture...
..You don’t use the same technique for EVERYONE..
yo i was feeling the song, don't understand but the beat had me moving
Yeah me too
Kc Massenburg I believe if the song was translated in English it would be through it all. a gospel song.

It is a Christian song. About how Christ makes the singer victorious.
That music you heard was God music ! Like Spanish Gosple lol

Natural hair is sooo much better. I've been natural for 2 years and my hair has gotten so thick, I love it!

She went to town on your hair! So beautiful! Thanks for the video

Beautiful results! ! Can someone explain to me why it was necessary to blow dry after she was already under the hooded dryer with a roller set? Just seems like alot of heat.
+Margo Freeman Thank you for answering! ! I was just curious. I did some research and a hooded dryer is better for the hair so now I know.
Its not necessarily a blow drier. It blows out hot stream to get the hair straighten
+Gemini Peterson Not only that but your roots do/can get "wrinkled" so you'd have to straighten that out.
The hooded dryer dried her scalp and the outside of the hair shaft
The blow dryer dried the actual hair and as it was doing so, it was being
styled at the same time. No heat damage. Pure genius!
Gemini Peterson I was thinking the Same
Is this better for your hair then flat ironing or is it the same risks for damage?
Beautifully stunning! I love how her hair was curled with the blow dryer and brush instead of curlers or flat iron.
This looks beautiful.
Great video. I've had my hair blow-dried straight in France, and never could find anyone in California to style it the same way. What products did you use in the client's hair, both when you put the rollers in and then when you blow-dried it?
You sat under heat for 30 minutes then got another heat source blown all through your hair with so much tension and pulling...smh. Not safe for me
That is exactly how I feel about it.
Yeah that was way too much heat for too long and not necessary at all to get her texture of hair straight (well anyone)

Girl you look very pretty , love your hair it looks so healthy😀God bless🙏🏼🙏🏼
What did she spray in your hair before blow drying??
They STRETCHED THOSE CURLS YESSSSS BEAUTIFUL 🥰🥰🥰
You're hair is so beautiful and healthy. Keep it up. I am a natural myself. It will be my first blow at the Dominican salon since I have been natural which is 2 years.
Beautiful! I love how natural hair stretches!
So how much does this cost? I live in Houston and I might need to schedule an appointment. Her hair was amazing!
I don't know why this was so relaxing to watch! Beautiful
That was beautiful! did she use any products on your hair before the rollers?
These comments make me sick! I thought this video was supposed to be about hair! Gee Wiz ladies! I Don't care if your Dominican or Black.
Beautiful... I want my hair done just like that...the model has beautiful hair and the stylist got skills
@Ripley1156 thanks. I think flat iron a relax hair its too much heat! cause its all ready relaxed...I have a Lot clients with relaxed hair with nice silky and healthy shiny hair! Your hair is extremely gorgeous both ways!!!
Her hair is so pretty 😍. She has a lot of hair. It's so pretty
What did u spray on her hair? Did u pretreat her hair with any other products? Her hair is gorgeous! Excellent job.
I love your hair. Your shrinkage is crazy.
Wow I wasn't expecting her hair to be that long! Great job!!!
VERY WELL DONE! THE STYLIST REALLY EARNED HER DINERO! THAT IS WHAT YOU WANT FROM A STYLIST, AN ARTIST WHO CAN PROUDLY STAND BY HER WORK!

She did a great job! Your hair is beautiful!
I love it! I get a blow out on my natural hair too once every 4 wks! Keep workin ur magic!!
fantastic technique... it came out awesome!!
I use to love getting my hair blown out but I use to experience so much breakage afterwards. Plus Dominicans are scissor happy and they act like they don't know how to comb natural hair from ends to roots. They practically rip your hair out. Never again.

What would u recommend as far as taking care of the blow-out with humidity? I live in FL, so I imagine the heat is similar in TX lol
Its from "UNA" ROLLAND HAIR PRODUCTS
Your hair looks so good!
Her hair😍. Definitely goals
i just have to say u are so pretty! your hair came out fantastic. i need to hit up a dominican salon pronto
her hair is beautiful!!! well done
Amazing results and with the correct maintenance and care this style can be done regularly
Thanks for the video! Your hair is really pretty.
Her hair looks so nice :-). What kind of hair dryer is that?
I love the results, you have beautiful hair!
Going to a Dominican Salon Saturday, I need it lol. Haven't been in a while!
I'm wondering the same thing. What products are used?
Wow, didn't even realize your hair was that long.
What does she put in your hair before rolling it?
Wow! From this day forward, no more relaxer for me!!
im glad your in houston ive been looking for salon that does this
Gorgeous beautiful, fantastic result. That's what I'd love to have done to my hair, shame that texture doesn't last for Longer though like a month with hair washes in between. I wonder how the Dominican blowout is done with treatments etc.
They did a wonderful job on your hair! :)
Love the finished look!!! but my hair is def NOT strong enough for all that heat...lol...
I really like how you turned your client's hair from curly to straight.
