I'm a home DIYer. I started with the HF basic random Orbital Polisher. Probably got it on sale for around 40 bucks. I did clean out the factory grease and repacked with premium grease. Corrected at least 5 or 6 cars with it without any problems. I have now moved up to a Griots buffer and sold my old one for almost what I paid for it.
Harbor freight also carries very good polishing pads, a great detail roller seat which has a built-in drawer and 2 accessory caddies. Well worth the money. Keep up the great work Pan!
I think Harbor Freight is great for anyone getting started! What I recommend to anyone trying to get going with tools and maybe even with detailing as well, try to get everything you need as cheap as you can. Then as you get a better feel for what you use every single day, upgrade it.
Yeah for sure the car detailing stuff was very basic. You can find way more at other auto parts stores. Unless other HF stores have more detailing products?
@@PanTheOrganizer Bro, just got your products. The ceramic detailing spray smells amazing, the tire dressing didnt have any potent smell. Will provide feedback once I'm done trying both products. Good packaging though.
@PanTheOrganizer When you say "Other" auto parts stores please remember Harbor Freight is NOT a auto parts store they are a tool supplier store. They do not carry one automotive part just a way to fix everything that breaks in life.
I recommend the Baur corded 1/2in impact wrench for any DIY mechanic who isn't bothered by it being corded. Especially while it's on coupon right now. I was looking into getting an impact wrench recently, and was going to pick between a Dewalt because I already have those batteries, or possibly get a Harbor Freight Hercules but then I'd need to invest in a battery too. Well now I got a powerful impact and don't have to worry about either battery. I needed it *right away* too, because I just had to remove an engine mount.
I live in Ontario, Canada but visited a Harbor Freight store in upstate New York. The Grant's brand microfibre towels that were sold out in this video are FANTASTIC. Thick weave on one side, thin on the other, soft, dense, and crazy cheap. I think $8.99 USD for 12 towels. PapaSmurf on UA-cam tested these and they've replaced the Costco Kirkland towels as his new go to. The lime green and grey Grant's drying towel is also very good. When it's dry it doesn't dry very well, but get that sucker damp with a little water and it will dry streak free with one swipe. I know that sounds weird that a drying towel works better wet but I can't explain it any other way. Very good drying towel especially for the price. I believe it's 24x36 inches (6 square feet) for $8.99 USD.
Miss the real Craftsman brand (and Sears). I had broken a ratchet wrench, a socket, and a couple of other small items which my dad had purchased in the 60s and used both at home and at MTD for up to 30 years. I went into Sears, showed the salesman, and was told to just go grab one off the shelf, show him, and then just leave. Simple and effective. Nice to see that HF is doing the same with Icon. BTW: I have a few Hercules tools (woodworking/carpentry), a Predator 9500, and a number of miscellaneous items that I have purched from HF since the early 90s.
You're right. Seems the Icon line moved into where the old Craftsman line was years ago. Especially with the "bring it in and instant replacement " that was a staple of Craftsman, which, unfortunately isn't anymore. Pain in the ass to get a replacement under warranty from Craftsman anymore.
I still have my Sears Craftsman USA ratchet and socket set. They are in good shape and I was able to get several repair kits for them. However, I haven’t used them in a long time because I like my Capri; GW; and other brands that have better grips and better gears. Even some of the cheaper wrenches like HF are competitive with the old wrenches, especially when you need something to throw in a truck air trunk.
I own so much Icon stuff. I have never needed it but all Icon tools have a lifetime warranty. If it breaks, you bring it back to Harbor Freight and you'll walk out with a new tool no questions asked. Hercules is the top end battery power tools.
I like harbor freight too. But I’m not a mechanic although now that I’m riding a motorcycle as my primary transportation I am more interested in tooling. This video was very informative. Thanks Pan!
I'm an industrial tech and switched out my tool truck brands for mostly icon to really see if they can hold up. Really have no complaints on buipd quality. Not all the ratchets have a wave washer in them and typically need oiled, though. After adding them they run as well as my mac and snap on ratchets.
I have used their glass microfiber towels and their drying towels, and they work great. At 5.95 a pop and if you have a coupon even cheaper. Also, i have been using the pressure washer sprayer you showed, and I have had no problems.
When they first started selling the better towels the closest HF store to me was sold out. I asked the manager when they would be getting more and i went back that day. They were fully stocked. The people are very nice and helpful.
Earthquake line is still around and is their high end pneumatic tools. Hercules is their high end battery power tools that come with a 3 year warranty.
I handyman for a living, and there's obviously some things you need to get in whatever big brand you've chosen, but I have yet to have a Bauer tool fail me. From a cash flow perspective, Harbor Freight tools have made me a lot more money than buying equivalents in big name brands would have
My favorite store! Mechanics I know would call this place Harbor Junk. But they’ve come a long ways over the years and have a lot of quality stuff. This is the only place I buy tools from.
I bought the 5 drawer US General tool box, as did my son. Great tool box, better quailty than what you get at Home Depot or Lowes, unless you spend more $$
Thanks guys. Harbor Freight has decent tools at affordable prices. Their return policy is very good. They really stepped up their game with the ICON line. Cheers fellas.
Live in ontario, went to buffalo and Bought a 3 ton low profile pittsburgh jack 12 years ago from HF for my lowered subaru, car is gone but the jack is still going strong
Love me some Harbor Freight!! Some people complain that their tools are low quality, but if you buy the warrantee most of the employees tell you "If it get ran over on day 364 of the one yesr warantee, just bring it in to be replaced for free." Whats not to love about that??!
I bought my detailers seat, some pads if I’m in a crunch, grit guard (is excellent), 2000 psi pressure washer, hand cart, tool cabinet filled with Harbor Freight tools, portable lights, flashlights, headlamp )interior detailing), scanning tool, 40 inch platform stand, motorcycle stand, and even a nose/ear trimmer!
What I like about HF when it comes to buying tools you can get the warranty with it for a few extra bucks, and return it no questions asked. At least that's the way it goes was a while back
I bought the Harbor Freight Hercules Dual Action Polisher a few months back for $119, and am really happy with it... I'm still fairly new as a DIY Detailer, so these products have been great for entry level.
On that $80 DA, changing out the grease brings it up to another level. Also, when the Grant micro fiber towels (12"x12") are on say 4/$1 or 12/$3.99 I always buy a few packs
I’ve got the Hercules forced rotation polisher, and it has worked great for me. I put a Flex 5” backing plate on it to use all of my 5” pads I already had. The Flex 3401 is probably better, but the value of the Hercules is impressive.
I was a tool snob in the past, but now retired I have started buying HF tools and love them. I have both the DA and rotary polisher, and they work great for me. Also, Pan, I should receive your 3 year and panel prep Wednesday. Can't wait 😊
Oh cool!!! That’s a nice package coming your way! I’m excited for you! Keep me posted. Keep in mind, prep is key. Do it once, do it right. Then enjoy the gloss, slickness and insane hydrophobic properties of the coating. Have fun detailing!! 🙌🏻👍🏻💪🏻
My first visit to Harbour Freight was 2 weeks ago in Michigan. Its only about 15 minutes from me and im in Ontario Canada. I wrench for a loving and picked up the Quinn Master socket sets in 1/2 3/8 & 1/4 drive. Great set with lifetime warranty. Also Picked up the Hercules 3/8 long neck electric ratchet. I will be stacking more tools from here because they seem good quality at a fair price with a wicked warranty
@24:10 The Bauer vacuums are pretty good for the money. For car detailing, Harbor Freight sells a "Premium Auto Detailing Accessory Kit for Wet/Dry Vacuums" ($29.99) which is a must have accessory for car detailing. Included is a flexible hose, attachments, brushes etc.
Another fantastic video from pan the detailing man , what I love about pan is he's down to earth and gives practical straight forward easy to understand advice on best products and how to use the products and budget friendly to uber expensive products
Hello Pan. For the Bauer orbital polishers, I recommend removing the factory grease and replacing with higher quality grease. Some others recommend swapping the back plate for a 5 inch to help minimize vibration.
As well as the Grants 16 x 16 edgeless microfiber, I believe he was going to show it but said they were sold out. But I love the Grants drying towel too, very plush but will dry the whole car with one towel, one side is long fiber the other side is a short fiber.

Hey Pan, we actually do have something quite similar to harbour freight in Canada, it’s called Princess Auto! Although I think harbour freight is much better, they just have way more selection and imo better products, it’s still quite similar and u get some good value stuff.
I love Harbor Freight. I used to have several different brands of battery operated tools. I eliminated them all and now have Bauer 20V. Weekend warrior, so I don't nee high end tools for my projects.
Great video gentlemen, I am also a HF fanboy so i have bought quite a few of their tools and products. Yes HF have replaced more or less all their Earthquake line with their Hercules line of products. I have also started buying their detailing products as an alternative. Keep up the good work Pan!!
Having watched again, you guys didn't see the shopvac detail attachment tools. I saw them after Josh showed them on his channel. $26 USD, and worth every frickin penny! Longer hose, flexible corner tool and more.....Harbor Freight win.
Grants Detail Seat is great for detailing wheels and trim. Purchased on sale for $49.99. Has abundance of storage for wheel cleaners, tire dressing, etc.
A great video, my favorite youtuber at my favorite store. The Bauer 8mm short throw polisher is great for a beginner who isn't sure about heavily investing in the hobby. I've seen it on sale for as low $49 and it gets the job done. The foam pads cost more now but I've seen them as low as $5, they are good quality and very durable. I know people write HFT stuff off as junk, some of it is but most is a great bargain.
This is the collab I didn’t know I needed!! Harbor Freight is such a cool store…I always feel like a kid in a candy shop when I’m there lol -the Grants towels look sooo amazing but they never have them in stock in my area!! Always a bummer because the price is on point!
Hi Pan, since the detailing chemicals have gotten so good, you can get away with inexpensive tools. I use the Portland pressure washer sold by Harbor Freight, paired with the stubby gun you just mentioned in the video, and an Uber Flex hose. I buy microfiber towels from Costco, Walmart, and Harbor Freight. I'd rather invest my money on premium chemicals so I don't need the higher end tools. I hope this makes sense.
Battery tools .. the hercules brand is brushless and the bauer brands are brushed motors for the most part. Most people are ok with the hercules tools and many of the bauer tools are good as well. My experience with most tools at Harbor Frieght is tool quality is spotty, some tools are as good as any and some are throw away after a few uses but overall they are improving, not to mention that some old standby brands arent what they used to be as well.
A couple things that weren't mentioned are coupons and deals. Frequently they have Bauer and Hercules deals where you buy a battery or battery & charger and get to pick one of 8 or 10 selected tools for free. And coupons, there are always coupons.
Great video guys. Two kids in a candy store! That Icon brand is one I'll have to look into. Note about the cruise control for the pressure washer gun "pistol" @ 6:40 - Wow! a slip of the grip could lead to some very exciting moments I'll bet.
One thing I think should be mentioned is that almost everything in the store is a Harbor Freight brand. So, all Icon, Earthquake, Quinn, etc., are made by Harbor Freight. They also have a tiered structure for most of their tools. Sometimes in the store, you will see 'good,' 'better,' or 'best' labels on tools. For example, Pittsburgh is a 'good' tier brand, Quinn is 'better,' and Icon is 'best.'
Hi Pam, great video. Quick question, I have bottles of great sealants such as Jescar Powerlock and Auto Obsessed Paint Seal. On my new truck I already have Swissvax Carnauba Wax on my new truck. With winter approaching here in Pennsylvania, I wanted to use the sealant and not throw away good bottles of it. Is it ok, or will it hurt my high end wax, if I put Jescar Powerlock or Auto Obsessed Paint seal on top of it? I’m just trying to use it up. But I know it’s supposed to be in a bare paint surface. I just need to know yes or no if I can do this without hurting anything. Thank you Pan! And congrats on your new line!!
I bought my random orbital polisher there...on sale! Also the Bauer palm sander. And my first pressure washer ($70). It's a great store for the home handy person.
Pan can you do like a video or an updated video on your tools chemicals etc organization in your garage and house. I can tell you are on point with it.
IF you're a brand new auto mechanic - it's hard to go wrong with the Harbor Freight Quinn 428 piece Master Technicians Tool Set. It's only $400 but it goes on sale some 3-5 times per year so be sure to check back on their website often.....like every week or every 2 weeks they're coming out with a WHOLE NEW set of coupons and everything goes on sale at least 1x per year. BUT this tool set has so much that you will need as a beginning mechanic and it's really good quality and lifetime warranty on all of it!!! It's quite simply an amazing deal. ALSO in air compressors - when he's talking about using the Tornador, he says you need like 48 gallon compressor but that's not true. What you need to do with ANY AIR TOOL YOU WANT TO USE look at the specifications. For the Tornador "Air Blow Out Tool" it recommends "5.4 - 6.2 CFM @ 90 PSI" - Harbor Freight does sell one that gets you really close. It's the Fortress 5 gal 225 PSI and it's rated at 5.1 CFM @ 90 psi for like $299. That might be OK but there are other options at other stores that will get up up into the 5.5 cfm at 90 psi but one I saw was close to $700. Just makes sure it can move the air you'll need/want.
I have some icon stuff and it’s been good, it may have changed but I could not get 1 wrench in the past , it was a set only, so if you needed a 12 mm ratcheting … wrench you could not just buy it, it was set only, hopefully they have it will changed this or will in the future. I was also impressed with the new glass towels
@@maxxdv8 thanks, I really like a lot of the icon stuff but this was a potential issue for me, maybe I just got a new store associate etc Appreciate the info
Pan, so in Canada what you like for the Tools like non-powered hand tools? I like Mastercraft Maximum line and there is always Princess Auto for interesting special tools and which is like Harbor Freight in the USA. Then Dewalt, Milwaukee makes some nice stuff.
Good day Pan, Kindly do a comparison video between a garmet steamer (1800w Sokany garmet steamer) and a steam cleaner. As a prospective detailer I'm stuck between starting off with a garmet steamer then later on upgrading to a steam cleaner or I should just save money and buy steam cleaner? Sending Love from eSwatini (Africa) ❤
Ah dang, they didn't cover the air compressor gun section! That was the only one I wanted Pan's opinion on, they have some budget sprayers that would have been nice to consider against a Tornador
FYI, Rad Garage and myself were being rinseless brainwashed by Yvan while Pan and FAB went on this field trip to Harbor Freight. 😂😂😂 Shout out to Mrs. FAB as the camera person she did a good job.
Harbor Freight is an interesting store. Most of the "brands" they carry aren't real brands at all. They are just Harbor Freight specific "brands" and lines that are only sold at their stores. They have recently been selling real brands like Meguire's, WD40, and others lately which is good. They have at least expanded outside of house brands in store.

I use the big dual action for use on RV’s. Works great and if it breaks it’s cheap to replace. 🎉
Awesome video fab and pan. This tool only products can use a battery from another brand or harbor has their own?
Always a bummer because the price is on point!
i have that forced rotation hercules polisher. works very well. got it with a 45% off coupon. cant beat that
The glass cleaning towels are good to have. I keep one in each car
After seeing FAB’s review of the grit guard, I bought two of them, a fender well brush, and those cotton tipped swabs.
I agree that they have improved their quality. I'm about to purchase some Daytona jack stands and a jack for wheel removal. 4 ton at least
Great video. I have a HF in my neighborhood. Go there all the time .
Thanks!
A couple things that weren't mentioned are coupons and deals. Frequently they have Bauer and Hercules deals where you buy a battery or battery & charger and get to pick one of 8 or 10 selected tools for free. And coupons, there are always coupons.
So crazy this was your first harbor freight visit. You had an excellent tour guide!
Pan this was a great video. HF has come a long way and has some really good options. Thanks for introducing me to FAB. He has a new subscriber!!
Hey Pan, any update on your polishing pads? And how long till they restock your brand on the website? Thanks!
Fun video! Glad u guys such a good time!
It was great. Pan was freaking out and Brian was feeling out! LoL.
Also my first stubby power washer wand, works great
ICON tools are great, but dont diss the Pittsburgh brand. Its not bad for someone working on their perso al cars or just starting out mechanics.
In Canada we have Princess Auto that is more closer to harberfreight than Canadien Tire.
As a fellow Montrealer, I take a trip to the Harbor Freight in Burlington about once a year. It's not very far!
Man, that harbor freight is stocked way better than the one by me!
Great video, never knew about battery powered pneumatic tools.
Hello Pan, Just a question on the Big Boi blowR cordless, have you reviewed it and what’s your thoughts on this blower?
Harbour freight needs to go world wide
I have some icon stuff and it’s been good, it may have changed but I could not get 1 wrench in the past , it was a set only, so if you needed a 12 mm ratcheting … wrench you could not just buy it, it was set only, hopefully they have it will changed this or will in the future.
I was also impressed with the new glass towels
@Brandon-Peake if you have the part number, just call/email harbor freight and they'll sell them individually. Usually free shipping too
@@maxxdv8 thanks, I really like a lot of the icon stuff but this was a potential issue for me, maybe I just got a new store associate etc
Appreciate the info
Pan, so in Canada what you like for the Tools like non-powered hand tools? I like Mastercraft Maximum line and there is always Princess Auto for interesting special tools and which is like Harbor Freight in the USA. Then Dewalt, Milwaukee makes some nice stuff.
I love your videos!
I've been curious if you have ever reviewed Secret Labs Bronze Bomber, its a wheel cleaner. I feel you'd do a more honest review.
Good day Pan,
Kindly do a comparison video between a garmet steamer (1800w Sokany garmet steamer) and a steam cleaner. As a prospective detailer I'm stuck between starting off with a garmet steamer then later on upgrading to a steam cleaner or I should just save money and buy steam cleaner?
Sending Love from eSwatini (Africa) ❤
Would the palm sander be a good with a jeweling pad since it has a minimal throw to really enhance the gloss?
Ah dang, they didn't cover the air compressor gun section! That was the only one I wanted Pan's opinion on, they have some budget sprayers that would have been nice to consider against a Tornador
Mechanic stuff? Daytona jacks, Icon tools (you'll get by with Quinn too) and Hercules brushless tool line
Microlite fiber drying towels work great
2 great detailers here, & also 2 great individual’s!
Thanks I appreciate it! 🙏🏻
@@PanTheOrganizer Of course man!🫱🏽🫲🏻
when is your products back in stock!! cant wait
FYI, Rad Garage and myself were being rinseless brainwashed by Yvan while Pan and FAB went on this field trip to Harbor Freight. 😂😂😂 Shout out to Mrs. FAB as the camera person she did a good job.
Seriously, kudos to the camera woman. Great job doing the walking-backwards thing, keeping everything in frame and timing everything perfectly. 👍🏽
Would love to hear your thoughts on the "tan bottle" Meguiar's products.
Thank you! Very helpful!
Tool boxes excellent. Would pick over Snap-On at fraction of the cost.
Very nice guy, I understand why you two are friends 👍
He is a really good guy!
I really enjoy HF stuff too, thanks for the video guys 😁👍
Harbor Freight also carries cool, affordable leaf blowers! Was surprised that they weren't featured in the video. Still, a cool video nonetheless!!
My first electric power washer and foam cannon came from harbor freight
Pan the D/A from Harbor, freight aren’t to bad however, I would upgrade to a better pads at least that’s what I do!
We have princess auto in Canada, which is like harbor freight without the good brands, like Icon and US General.
Love the grumpy looking old man at 7:00 min. mark looking annoyed you're in his isle! 😄
