    You're humble. That's a great characteristic in a teacher. Teaching IS what you're doing, here...like it, or not😁😁😁
    Thank you! Very helpful!

    Mine had the same issue, although the post had cracked rather than snapped off. I glued it with epoxy and clamped it. So far it's held OK. I'm not using the wall mount as I think the weight f the unit hanging off it causes the problem. Thanks for the video, very helpful.

    Dyson put a lot of dynamic load fath on that tiny plastic tube. I'm often amazed at how thin & flimsy these plastic elements are.
    Being morefamil2with Nilfisk, Vorwerk & Mele parts. Are Shark parts any better?

    would suggest not bending connectors, they can be waggled out without bending. They may not withstand 2 more next time. Had same problems, broken trigger, post and now battery fail

    My V11 animal motor won’t drive the head. How do you trouble shoot it ? Should the contacts have battery voltage when you pull the trigger ? I have no volts.

      Where did you test for voltage?

      @@richardsvacuumcenter hello, tested for voltage at the two contacts where stick attaches to canister

      @@scarter176 Ok. I just checked this again. So this particular machine will not put out voltage until it senses a certain load pull (from the brush motor). I confirmed this by plugging in a functioning head while it was running and it did not power up the head. However, when I let off the trigger and restarted, the motor head will run because it initially senses the load and then sends voltage. So in other words, testing for voltage at those contacts will not help you determine your issue. The more common failures in my experience if the cleaner head will not turn is 1) seized bearing in the cleaner head and 2) water damage causing the board or motor to fail. I would check there. Perhaps you could find a friend with the same model to test, or buy a new one, test the head and return it once you have your answer. Best of luck!

      @@richardsvacuumcenter Richard, thanks a bunch for the reply. I had sucked up mud in main body and tried to clean with hot water (not good). Chatted with Dyson and probably frizzed the motor. Motor still ran but no output to roller head. Confirmed with small roller head. It wouldn’t spin either. Ordered new main body with motor.

    Fix that fault all the time.....a much simpler repair that does not require an old body or new parts is a slightly longer screw with a pointed end to bite into the body past the broken screw mount. But your way is OK too if you want to do all that extra work 😉

      I considered it for sure. My concern is the longevity of that repair since there is less plastic to screw into with the entire back end of the battery to be supported. Time will tell I guess. I’ll try that and see how it does over time. Some customers want it fixed right. Others might be ok with that type of repair. I give them the option.

      I’m curious, do you remove the broken post before installing the longer screw?

    • @Ecksterphono
      @Ecksterphono Рік тому

      The split in the trigger added to the broken post will cause the activation of motor. Over engineering is not always better. Beware of putting longer screws in that fiber based grey plastic, it can actually cause fissure crack. These housings are molded already with the posts and the screws are tapped in. The bottom of Dyson screws are not taper tapped like screws you get from a hardware bin but are bottom tapped. Over time any longer screw or pre drilling will crack away. The grey housing is coated as well and they are made by cold mold process fiber based polylactic acid plastics. PLA for short. Dyson uses different plastics. Canister plastics are made from ABS. Many plastics that they use are not compatible with super glue especially the grey fiber based PLA. That is why the housings are best to be replaced. I had to replace an upper motor cover for my Dyson big ball animal canister vacuum. Because the ball side wheel stud post broke where the screw goes in. Shaving the broken stud with sandpaper exposing more of the screw and tapping the hole a bit. deeper and putting the screw in only lasted a short time after slight bumps because the plastic broke away, epoxy did nothing but just broke off. Luckily I had a used upper motor cover off a parts machine with missing components and worn motor. It's the only way.
