You might have been brought up thinking the brain’s job is to think.
Thinking is WAY down the brain’s “To Do” list.
The brain’s #1 job is to control our body.
All those boring, mundane functions that you don’t even think about EXCEPT when the brain gets it wrong.
So that’s why taking a brain focused approach makes sense.
👉However, when some hear me talking about brain retraining - they think it’s about retraining your thinking! (That IS some brain retraining approaches)
My version of brain retraining is focusing on the tools can we use that influences & changes the brain.
THOSE TOOLS ARE YOUR MIND AND BODY.
Not either or. Both.
The Lightning Process is a mind/body approach.
While our thoughts can & do change our brain, that is by no means the only way to influence your brain.
You can ALSO use your body to influence the brain.
(Breath, focus, posture, muscle tension, facial expressions, tone of voice etc)
Often these body-based tools can access the brain when the mind-based tools can not.
Sometimes the mind-based tools can access the brain when the body based tools can not.
The solution? A mind/body approach to access Neuroplastic change.
You don’t haven’t choose. Mind AND body.
