As someone who both helped write so much for all of scamptons new stuff + the script + spearheaded his new redesign all together id like to explain some things for people who might not pick up what the changes are! Scamptons Lightworld Item is now : The Ace Of Stars - this was done for many reasons that all just seemed to work out both with already existing and new themes around Scampton! it properly puts him in line with the ACETONS (the CR equivalent of the Addisons as (???)) also, still being in line with commonly forgotten and discarded items, the Fifth Suit in a deck of cards is often gone unused! many card games don't even utilize them so the switch from a joker to forgotten ace was just that bit easier Scamptons New Design - Scamptons redesign was almost entirely accidental with it only starting as a take on his design which was further expanded on, (this spiraled into pretty much every other change regarding scampton!) Scamps new design is inspired heavily both off of his original Winterer design, with heavy inspiration from Dimentio from Super Paper Mario! (original concepts of the design had five prongs on his outfit instead of four, and originally didn't have the Neo core in the center!) Bendu after the fact took the concept designs and worked it out (with additional help) into the new design we have now, and honestly its so peak no longer being a direct rip off of jevils clothing. Other Scampton Things - Scamptons dance was updated to look more like the walk cycle spamtons little spamtons use during his alleyway fight attack, keeping both arms up and spread keeps him looking as if hes presenting while also letting him fill out the shape the rest of his outfit creates around him! The Scramblocker is a play on words of "Card Scrambler" and "Add Blocker", Combining the two to get an item that was supposed to contain scampton permanently! Scamptons Text Quirk has also been updated, no longer referencing modern gaming in his speech, hes now limited to the likes of tabletop / board games, as well as video-games prior to an extremely early date (if i'm remembering correctly, its anything prior to the 2000s?) scampton all those years ago was already a fun and enjoyable character, but given the opportunity i'm so glad that the team accepted and expanded on his character for his benefit! taking valid criticism and inconsistencies of his character and turning them into something so much more grandiose! Dude I literally just got good at drawing him, why did you change him? /j But seriously, while I’m not personally getting the best experience since my headphones broke today, this is VERY good. It loops perfectly, it has a lot of the goofy sound effects, it has amazing instrumentation, and while the original voice is (unfortunately) etched into my mind, I really like the new one! The only issues I have are ones that Punki’s unused V2 also has, which are that the midsection is kinda empty and slow. It feels like there’s no lead, and then when the lead DOES come in, it’s at half the pace of the rest of the song. I can totally get used to it, and I definitely will over time, but it’s just really jarring that what used to be this super fast-paced high-energy section is now instead the exact opposite. Not that it’s bad, it’s just not what I’m used to. Which goes for most, but not quite all, of the recent changes. Some I still don’t like, but most I come around on over time.
i really didnt think the joker’s version of this could get much better and i’m LOVING the sprite redesigns and even the voicelines in this but in the full rewritten fangame im praying to god the boy’s fight keeps the “[[change of perspective]]” like this is perfect

The redesign and the set up battle setup is a total upgrade! All the new little animations Scampton does is also really great and expressive! Only nitpick is that the character of Scampton itself feels a little too much like Junkil now. (Especially the voice and text box sound effect.) It’s too harsh and chaotic feeling IMO. I really like the music too, and can appreciate it as its own thing. Overall the team continues to impress me with their ideas, keep up the good work!
Yeah, to me, old Scampton always kinda teetered on the edge of being playful and cynical, but this new guy’s just mean. It’s not a twisted game he’s playing anymore, it’s to prove a lesson. Which yeah, makes him less like Jevil, but there are ways of doing that without fundamentally redefining the character.

I just realized something that’s gonna bug me forever: This version doesn’t introduce the aqua/teal/cyan/turquoise/whatever soul mode before the battle like the old one did. It just drops you into a fight with a brand new mechanic, one literally MORE unique than Spamton’s yellow soul mode, with no tutorial.
I'm not really sure if I like this version or the original better... Which is a massive compliment! Remaking stuff is hard so the fact that it was able to be remade so well is great

This makes me wonder if theyre gonna re-work junkil at all I mean, think about it- in this new version, he follows a lot of the same key lines as regular spamton- So does that mean, for junkil we may have a storyline where we follow him to wherever his "freedom" or whatnot is, just for the whole party to fall down? I know they already sort of did that, but it really makes me wonder what's posible at this point.
very unique design. ig this still Chapter 1 after knowing that he is a total freak, so the trio decided to trap him in the card and then, used a fast method to travel in the rails, that became his arena... interesting choices of game design.

OMG I LOVE THIS NEW SCAMPTON! He feels SO MUCH like his own thing, love how hes now based off of the Ace of Stars, which I've never even heard of before, the more you know. My original problem was that Scampton felt TOO much like Jevil, especially with both being based off of the Joker card. But this simple change made Scampton feel a hell of a lot different, good job CR team!
Yeah I noticed with both swaps in this version retain a lot more of their original character. Scampton in this version is selfish like Spamton, Junkil in this version is nihilistic like Jevil.

I just realized something that’s gonna bug me forever:
This version doesn’t introduce the aqua/teal/cyan/turquoise/whatever soul mode before the battle like the old one did. It just drops you into a fight with a brand new mechanic, one literally MORE unique than Spamton’s yellow soul mode, with no tutorial.
The cutscene would most likely be changed in an ingame scenario this was made for the vid we didnt want the intro to be TOO long

I mean, think about it- in this new version, he follows a lot of the same key lines as regular spamton-
So does that mean, for junkil we may have a storyline where we follow him to wherever his "freedom" or whatnot is, just for the whole party to fall down?
I know they already sort of did that, but it really makes me wonder what's posible at this point.

OMG I LOVE THIS NEW SCAMPTON! He feels SO MUCH like his own thing, love how hes now based off of the Ace of Stars, which I've never even heard of before, the more you know.
My original problem was that Scampton felt TOO much like Jevil, especially with both being based off of the Joker card.
But this simple change made Scampton feel a hell of a lot different, good job CR team!
Yeah I noticed with both swaps in this version retain a lot more of their original character. Scampton in this version is selfish like Spamton, Junkil in this version is nihilistic like Jevil.
