I'm a week late but great job Adam. I live in Worth and was glued to whatever I could watch. Sorry for the people in Naperville/Woodridge. I'm from Plainfield and was 12 when that was hit. I lived less 1/4 mile from the High School, but my neighborhood was spared.
So crazy... I was driving home down 83 right before this passed, heading to Orland from Oak brook. Missed it by 10 mins. I had radarscope fired up on my phone and actually considered heading down 75th street, glad I didn't
I was at 79th and Archer just off of 294 when the Naperville cell passed to my north. It still had surface winds and inflow of over 70 mph. I could see the retreating funnel off in the distance even at night. I had seen funnel clouds before but this was unreal.
Missed me by a quarter mile. In Woodridge. Neighborhood and friends not so lucky. It was a fury for a moment. @18 min mark. You called it. Qlcs? Is what hit us. Bulldozed a path from Naperville and east to Woodridge
Great coverage. You made a number of things clear to your viewers that we need to hear more of from on air Mets: when the siren stops, it does not indicate an all clear. Why? It may have been knocked out. Also, about sirens recycling great point. QLCS tornadoes are a pain because of radar refresh rates (2-5 minutes.) all good stuff. My bottom line is shelter immediately upon a tornado warning and listen to your radio or whatever means you have. Impressive.
I watched it happen on GR2 Analyst. The tornado warning was issued and I didn't see any strong rotation until the next scan and then it went up to a 2.04 on the normalized rotation scale eventually, which is decent for a QLCS Tornado.
Hey man, I e followed you for years now, this coverage was exceptional. I was able to keep my parents informed throughout the night, they are in Monee. I have since moved to NWI, do you have a branch of your ISC for northwest Indiana? Or any plans to expand to other neighboring states? Keep up the great work brother!
weird re-watching this after living through it. we missed it by yards but the neighborhood is still recovering and probably won't for a long time.

Top or bottom, Adam?

What happened? It hit my apartment building. Woke up 10 seconds before it hit!

I think its gonna hit our area next,
I slept through the whole thing, three miles southwest of where it first touched down in Naperville.
