I like the betting format. It has the ability to let anyone come back on their own merits rather than the other person having to give them an "ultimate win scenario" gimmick.
I've found that I like zero better than diet pretty much every time. The way it's formulated just works better. In the older diet formulas, the bitterness that aspartame has is significantly more pronounced and the soda "flavor" itself kinda tastes watered down. The Zero formula is so much closer to the regular version that Diet Dr Pepper has to get a new slogan because it now lags behind.
My partner is diabetic and it was in a large part due to his soda drinking but we found that the zero sugar ones are way better than diet and the Mt dew major melon zero is a heck of a good soda for not having sugar.

Nah, I wasn't confused either. They've done this format before, so I'm not entirely sure what's messing with people in this particular episode... I think some were confused about the preference indicators (the flags) and the guesses (position of glasses). Maybe people are just so used to the simpler format of the flags indicating guesses, but again, they've done this more complex format previously. So, who knows. :P
Diet Dr. Pepper tastes like a completely separate drink imo. Zero tastes much more like the og. The main difference between diet and zero is that zero has more of the flavoring iirc. At least that's that's Google told me and my taste buds agreed.

Their job is to place them in the correct circle, that is the only way they get points. The markers are only to show what soda they like better, the marker doesn’t know earn them points in anyway.

Guys*, just a heads up, Zero Sugar sodas also contain Aspartame. It’s still the dominant sweetener in the drink. They just use Acesulfame Potassium in addition to get the syrupy soda taste. So if you are allergic or don’t like drinking/eating things with Aspartame, it’s a good idea to always read the labels. 🧐

I actually work quality control for Pepsi and there’s a zero version of almost every flavor. Pepsi mango, Mtn Dew frostbite, major melon. Major melon happens to be the best IMO.
I stopped drinking soda at 14 years old and have never missed it- but I tried cream soda last week for the first time since then and fell back in love! I think I’ll be having a cream soda float now from time to time 🤤

They both had two glasses one had diet one had zero, they put which one they though was diet in the left slot and which one they thought was zero in the right slot and then they put the skewer in which one they liked better just to see which one they liked better.
