- Mission: Create an interesting groove solo, using only one string and sticking to the dot markers. I "mostly" pulled that off! I may have to develop this into something more. I can already hear drums on it.

This is actually something I am doing more frequently. Trying to do lines, grooves and fills with a single string to see how they work in more grander and bigger contexts. It's fun and helps you desire to use the higher frets!

This is how learned to play my first ever song on bass, Cream's 'Sunshine of My Love", followed by ELPS 'In the Beginning'
Once I learned them on one string, I began exploring the fretboard and finding new chords

# I only play the fat string
I was recording a solo with my band years ago. In my mind I figured I could do a solo on one string, and I did. It is actually one of, if not, the best solos I recorded.
That’s really cool.
For me it coerced a different kind of creativity which was fascinating.

Thanks so much. I haven’t done a video with my effects. I generally don’t use them very much. Some of it in this videos was added post production - tweaking my sound in Presonus Studio 1. 👍🏻😊

I have been fascinated Mr Tony’s fat but flexible tone from lower to higher note . What could it possible to produce such beautiful tone ?
Thank you! I’m using a small amp. No effects. I always say that the sound comes from the hands. My signature Fretless bass plays a big part in it too. Thanks again.

Entertaining stuff as always :) I have a fretless jazz with DR Sunbeams but I must admit that a fretless P has a particular sound that I really like :) Actually, always been a P-lover (PrecisionBass lover, not that other thing that sounds the same LOL).

I love the combo of the DiMarzio bridge pick up and the stock P pick up. It’s beefy yet versatile.
Very good improvising on One whole string Tony. Just playing one string you can work on Timing how Hard and soft you play. I listen to Dreaming quite often it's one of my favorites. That song would have sounded wonderful live..
