- This version (Clawgs V1) was never produced. These were prototypes used for my Kickstarter campaign. Clawgs V2 is the first Clawgs I've professionally produced, which can be found at www.dogsap.com . Clawgs V2 features six adjustable straps so you can get the perfect fit on every paw! Clawgs V3 features velcro and an independent leg fastener, so they're easier for people to put on and remove. Clawgs V3 should be available by April 2023. I need these asap! I had an incident just last week where I took my Pit for a walk in 85 degree weather and didn't think anything of it, especially since she's held up under those conditions before. This time, I think we walked outer limits because she began panting heavy. When I got her home I didn't notice until a day or two later that her front paw pads were slightly raw. No blood, just exposed. I about died inside! I was very emotional and also depressed for awhile after the fact. And now I'm learning about your genius creation: dog sandals! Amazing! Such a clever idea, and safe and comfy enough for any dog to truly enjoy. Very relieving for myself, the owner, as well! Even though the safety aspect is top priority, I'm hoping they come in an array of colors because I'm determined to purchase several pair for my girlie.

We recently bought V2 very comfortable for our dog and fix perfect size 8 for the front and size 9 for the back, it is nothing compared in the market Sap Claws is a great product.

How would you prevent something from lodging between the pad and the boot? How secure is the strap that holds these on? Will there be different toe hole sizes? the two side toes seem to have an ok amount of space but the middle toes look kinda squished together. I think these are a very good idea for dogs that have mobility issues and possibly service dogs that experience slick floor and hot pavement, but I am wondering how effective these would truly be as trail shoes for most active dogs.
exactly what I was thinking. They look cool, but not sure about rocks or other debris getting in-between the paw pads and the fabric itself. I live in florida and Ive been using Kurgo's step and strobe dog boots. theyre flexible and breatheable.

I wish I had a pair when my german shepherd was alive. Her paws got way too sensitive as she got older due to walking on hot concrete and asphalt.

now this is an awesome idea..this is what i have been waiting for someone to create..no dog enjoys thwir paws being atuck in these annoying boots..i need these..how do i get my hands on them?
Boots are not good for a dogs protection and sandals are better😅. With all jokes a side it’s not a bad idea but how secure are those straps?
good concept but please dog owners in arizona please use full toed boots with enough heat insulation from floor contact the road and walks reach up to 155 degrees so yeah
Clawgs insulate toes from hot surfaces. Clawgs are "fully toed". Only claws stick out. Also, the first version we produced is thicker than the prototypes in this video. We tested them on surfaces over 180 degrees. If you're ever concerned about what your dogs' toes feel through Clawgs sole, set Clawgs on the hot surface and press your hand against the inside of the sole. I think you'll be pleased. They're thick enough to insulate toes on the most extreme surface temperatures we're likely to experience on earth but thin and flexible enough for dogs to get a feel for the ground and walk naturally.
If you decide to use a fully enclosed traditional dog boot, please be cautious about insufficient breathability. Dogs paws sweat. When that moisture is trapped and rubbing in fully enclosed dog boots, it causes rashes, blisters, fungus, etc. I suggest removing the traditional dog boots frequently or swapping them out with a dry pair to avoid paw moisture irritation in fully enclosed traditional dog boots. However, that shouldn't be a concern in Clawgs.

What was the issue with this design? These seem much more aesthetically pleasing vs the v3 and faster to put on?
These were the prototypes I used to launch my Kickstarter. I made them with latex, which isn't what's typically used by manufacturers. It took me two days to make a pair using a difficult process that manufacturers were not able to replicate to the high quality standards I expected. I tried to teach three different suppliers how to make V1 over a year and a half without success.
Also, there's lots of variation in paw shapes, so the adjustable straps of Clawgs V2 and V3 are necessary to properly fit ALL paw shapes (at least for larger paws). While testing V1, I found issues with the middle claw opening pressing against large knuckled dogs, like Great Danes and Boxers. There's a Kickstarter update from years ago where I offered to refund backers with giant pawed dogs because I was not satisfied with the performance. I was also worried about Clawgs being too tight on extremely wide pawed dogs, like Bulldogs, and too loose on long narrow pawed dogs, like Greyhounds. I don't want to settle for just making paw wear for most dogs. I want to Clawg them all!
If you want paw wear to fit perfectly on ALL paw shapes and sizes, you need the adjustability of multiple straps. Once V3s the straps are adjusted to properly fit your dogs' paws, they're really easy to put on. There's three fasteners in V3 vs the two fasteners in V1. V3's fasteners snap into place easily. V1's fastener was more challenging to thread the small hook through a fabric loop, particularly when the hook and loop was on the far side of your dog and you'd essentially need to thread the hook through the loop blind.

I saw this and my first thought was how painful it looked having that go between the toes. That's the reason I don't wear sandals. Besides the fact that if I'm chased, I want shoes I can run in. LOL
Have you ever been chased while wearing clown shoes that are too long and wide for your feet? Imagine what it feels like for dogs' claws to ram into the front of shoes during each step and to be pressed downward, which is the opposite direction that the ground presses on claws. Paws' toes are configured differently than your toes. Dogs' front (middle) two toes stick out much further than their side toes. There's plenty of space to wrap around dogs' middle two toes without going between toes. Clawgs do not go between toes. Clawgs go around toes and have claw openings so dogs' claws don't ram against the front of pawwear. The claw openings also allows dogs to use their claws, which is a great gift for dogs. If I had claws and you took away my ability to dig my claws into the ground for better grip, I'd bite you :P
me too i can not wear sandles with in between toes straps
saving up for a pair for my service dog in training to protect against stickers and hot pavment. i would like to see more sucess stories with these shoes before buying but cant find any .
