- I flew with BA in club Europe (or Business Class) to Barcelona.
Is it worth the extra £200 to upgrade or is it better to save the cash and stick with a seat in economy.

The majority of BA business class travellers in Europe are frequent flyers and their focus is more on timetable, fast track, priority boarding, luggage allowance, ticket flexibility and lounge access. In my opinion the food/drink offerings are not bad considering the short sectors.
Totally agree, for me personally I would like a more inspirational seat, having just flown short haul with Qatar on their 737 max it really is night and day in comparison and feels far more business class than what BA currently offers.
I’ve upgrade on short flights for the right prices to get the extra benefits and the points as well.
I've just decided to fly Business to Dublin from London Heathrow. It cost me an extra £25 return.
Are the seats the exact same size as those in economy just without the middle one I will be travelling club Europe but the middle seat not being in use doesn’t really bother me while I am quite tall what would make it worth the extra money would be more leg room and an overall larger seat instead of the middle one just not being in use. video was great thanks
They are exactly the same size - no extra leg room which is probably the only disappointment going BA Club Europe. If you can somehow get row 1 there might be a bit of extra leg room.
When I fly Newcastle to LHR I usually don’t bother but LHR to NCL I do so I can make use of the lounges. Flying in August to London and can pay £75 to upgrade going there but they want £659 to upgrade coming back to Newcastle for 2 people…

@@tradingplaces787 I definitely will try. Our lounge has recently been renovated but I like the vibe of the airport bars. Just whilst I’m here, I’m flying with Air Canada from LHR to Halifax in their “business class” in a few months which is more like premium economy with it being a 737-8. Have you ever travelled in this set up long haul? It’s a 2-2 configuration and only 4 rows! 🤔

I've just paid for the £75 upgrade for flight in June 2024 LHR - MCR, mainly as I want to do a video for my UA-cam Channel 😁
Some Club Europe prices can be quite low if one books well in advance and maybe to not so popular destinations in which case CE is definitely worth it. The other big motivation for Club Europe/business (for those interested) is getting a lot more Tier Points which helps to achieve higher status in BA Executive Club. Otherwise for most flights to Europe, it's not worth it.
