The reference I caught during the chase scene was completely different. When Pomni was stretched out. I was reminded of Scrat during the climax of Ice Age, the meltdown.
I saw that reference too.
I was thinking the same thing 😂
That exactly what I thought 😂
Didn’t Gooseworx release a screenshot of her watch history and it was just full of Ice Age videos?
For some reason I thought of Spiderman holding the big old boat together, or the trains, or Mr. Incredible... Y'know that stuff :D
Not really a reference, but Jax called gangle submissive and agreeable… and I just think that needed to be known
I was watching the ep with my little sisters and was just like: 👁👄👁
I heard that and I was lime "Jax fym by that😨"
I knew the teenage girls were gonna be even more down bad after hearing that 😭
@@tired247 im not a teenage girl... Yet but i can agree but the other half of me wants to slap him into the next episode if i was gangle but shes just ribbons and they dont really hurt. 😊
I was caught off guard by that 💀
Jax crossing his arms and tapping his feet while the truck is falling looks very similar to Sonic’s idle animations.
Heh yeah!
It DOES!!!
YOURE SO RIGHT!!!
What yeah!
finally, someone who seen this reference
The Fudge monster called Jax a "master of unlocking", which was a line from Resident Evil 1.
I came here to say this 😂
I was hype because of that line recognising it immediately
The fudge monster is also a candy version of Great Mighty Poo from Conker's Bad Fur Day, as a giant brown monster that comes out of a brown lake with (candy) corn teeth
The storyboard for the truck scene was actually named "Mad Jax" by the person who drew it
Cause jaxs is mad#🔥🔥🔥
Your pfp...
That explains... *so much.*
Omfg
I love it
Of course they would name it after the only guy in the crew whose enjoying the chase. Lol
I'm sure a lot of people recognized the gummy "elephant" but it gave me a good laugh.
YOOO ME TOO!
Nope, I'm lost. Thanks in advance to anyone who can explain, please? ^^;
@@CarusELumen google gummy elephant, someone found melted together gummy worms that "look like an elephant"
Why is elephant in quotations? What does it mean? What it it?
ME TOO BAHA
Pomni being stretched between the 2 trucks has to be a reference to something… scrat from ice age? Tom and Jerry? Summit else? Idk
Perhaps!
@@vgmarkisThey are right about that.😮
One piece💀 /j
It's definitely a reference to Scrat from Ice Age The Meltdown.
I thought SpongeBob reference
When Caine exploded Gummigoo into confetti, I think it was a reference to DHMIS with the whole "wait what?" *explodes* thing
you ignored Pomni's nightmare being a reference to Toy Story 2
I like to imagine Pomni and Gummigoo’s conversation is a reference to Toy Story 1 where Woody helps Buzz through a similar crisis
Wait what TOY STORY 2
AND TOY STORY 1
O ya in pomni's nightmare, she gets pushed to the hole of abstracted after having an "abstracted" arm, it's similar to woody's nightmare of being pushed into the trashcan cuz of his unworkable arm in toy story 2. And to the fact that its the same arm side of both of em. I get it now =D
OH MY GOD THAT MAKES SENSE
I thought The Fudge was a reference to Great Mighty Poo from Conker's lol.
he's both of those, and says a resident evil reference "master of unlocking"
LMAO SAME
I'm pretty sure Great Mighty Poo is partially influenced, but that probably won't sit well in the influence checkbook during interviews. So it's probably more like a silent nod
SAME
could be both, but, as someone who has watched raggedy ann and andy: a musical adventure many times, its definitely the greedy. the voices are similar, and both characters are introduced after the main characters get launched off a cliff into a river of candy that is also the character
Also fudge calls jax a "master of unlocking" which is a reference to a phrase used in Resident Evil when Barry gives Jill a lockpick and calls her the master of unlocking
You forgot to mention Pomni grabbing on both trucks like the Ice Age meltdown of the raccoon character grabbing two land ice bergs
Scrat is a sabertooth squirrel
@@mitspeithetcI'm so glad you're stopping the spread of misinformation about a fictional animal from a dead franchise created by a studio that no longer exists. Proud of you, soldier.
@@jordidraws7723its a necessary correction. everyone knows that scrat is apart of daily life and we need to be prepared.
@@jordidraws7723nah it's quite needed, I didn't understand which character he meant before he corrected him
I don't think it's a refrence, it's too much of a 'stretch'
I KNEW THE TEAPOTS MEANT SOMETHING and now my questions have been answered!!! i was watching that scene and i kept thinking "huh... i wonder why there are only teapots specifically here, what does it mean??" nice to know it further reinforces the world to be created by an outside entity using a 3d modeling software 😅
The "outside entity" being Caine, since Loo even says that he's "God" for them
@@CarlosAlexandre-gv2knYep, there's one in the first episode. "Day after day after day after day after day we fly."
I thought it was an Alice in Wonderland reference, from when she falls down the rabbit hole.
@@storytellingwithesther2520 The idea of teapots may have been, but that specific teapot, the Blinn Teapot, is 100% a cgi joke. It's like putting a Wilhelm scream in your movie, you know what you're doing.
Yeah, I caught that one immediately and was quite pleased. Tom Scott did a video talking about that teapot and its influence on CGI.
The croc is actually doing jet set radio tricks hinted by the sound effects.
Pizza Tower has an identical sound effect that the croc does, however I don't recall if jet set radio has the same white splash effect that is being used, so I still think it's a pizza tower reference. Also, the use of the taunt in pizza tower is to parry or dodge certain attacks in the game, which croc is doing to avoid the rocks.
It does indeed have the same light splash effect. There's also a vocal Sting if you successfully Parry something with it. @@cmc178
Pizza Tower uses the sound from Jet Set Radio.
@@cmc178 On Goosework's own Tumblr she confirmed it's not explicitly Pizza Tower, just pulling of tricks in games in general.
@@cmc178The Pizza Tower sound effect is JSRF, which means any reference to it is a reference to JSRF, since that's the origin of the sound
Im so glad you mentioned the fudge monster being a reference to the Greedy! I havent seen anyone else talking about it
I never even played Pizza Tower yet I know the Croc was posing them Pizza Tower taunts
Jax's boot-zooka in this episode is a reference to Funky Kong's weapon in Donkey Kong 64, and The Fudge could also be a reference to The Great Mighty Poo from Conker's Bad Fur Day for the same system also by Rare
Wow, there's so many references in the new episode! Plus you should mention that the Candy Princess and this whole Candy Kingdom is inspired by the characters in Cuphead in the Sugarland Shimmy Level!😮😁🍭🍬🍫🧁
Is The Candy Princess Supposed To Be Baroness Von Bon Bon?
@@E-9CaptainBurns She kinda looks like her.
i’m a super big cuphead fan but i don’t think it’s a reference to that 😭 i think they’re just both candy inspired kingdoms
@@jjstarz7383 I see.
Honestly it made me think of the Candy Kingdom in Adventure Time 🧍♀️
FINALLY SOMEBODY REALIZED THE PIZZATOWER TAUNT
@vgmarkis Thank you for mentioning that Paper Mario TTYD Heal Sound effect easter egg, I thought that I was the only one that heard that reference But I am glad to see that you noticed it as well!
You also forgot that when Pomni was having a nightmare, and got thrown in the cellar, was a reference to Toy Story when Andy threw Woody away in the trash.
Also the Resident Evil reference with the Fudge saying, "You must be some sort of master of unlocking things."
IM SO GLAD YOU MENTIONED GREEDY FROM RAGGEDY ANN AND ANDY, I SAW IT AND COULDN'T STOP THINKING ABOUT HIM
The fudge monster calls Jax a ‘master of unlocking’ when he pulls out the key to the kingdom, referencing resident evil 2.
Edit: I said 2, but it was actually the first game. I’m off to the ‘being wrong on the internet hole’ (thanks those that corrected me).
No, not resident evil 2, that one is a reference to the og resident evil when barry gives jill a lockpick and says that she the master of unlocking will make a better use of it
wasnt that the first one
@@plagidoktor5812 I am a fake resident evil fan
The way gummy-goo says “wait what?” And then explodes in to confetti and glitter is probably a reference to don’t hug me I’m scared ep 4 when red guy explodes
I swear they used the metal pipe sound effect for when The Fudge gets hit by the truck near the end.
The choco monster also reminds me of The GREAT MIGHTY POO from Conker's bad fur day. The candy corn for teeth also reminds me of GMT's corn for teeth 😂😂😂😂
First Caine is based on a Pizza Tower enemy, and now the crocodile taunts like in Pizza Tower
The long arms Pomni might be a Scrat reference from Kevin Temmer, a former BlueSky animator who worked on some scenes with Scrat from Ice Age and also on the particular scene Pomni is holding the trucks.
Like Scrat, Ponmi's body shortens the more her arms stretch, something I've never seen outside of Ice Age.
holy crap, really?! the same guy?! that's crazy it's small world, animation
the first one i noticed in this episode was “get driving, driver” which reminded me of the ghost stories dub where theys say “just drive the bus, bus driver”
thats the first thing to come to mind for me as well!
YES, ive been looking for someone who noticed! not many people seemed to.
The first "reference" can be checked off as a stock sound effect, 100% sure I've heard it in other pieces of media
Yeah it sounds nothing like that mario sound effect lol
The phrase "We're about a tank away from being Augustus Glooped!" made me giggle a bit.
Great Wonka reference. I'd say the same thing if I was stranded above a chocolate river!
The Pizza Tower taunt SFX was the _first_ reference I noticed.
Also, something nobody seems to be mentioning, the room Pomni and Gummigoo fall into is called a dev room, which are a real thing used in video games to test graphics and models, and they sometimes slip out into production builds of games too (only one I personally know of is in Just Cause 3 or 4)
Also for storing data for actors to be spawned in a map.
Some games simply don't spawn actors in unless somewhere, probably miles away from any playable space, an actor is hidden in that map.
In some games, this is the case with hiding player characters offscreen during cutscenes as well.
This little Out of Bounds Dev Cell could be the center of many core functions. The inanimate actors themselves would be known as dummy models, figures with blank AI that only exists as a base for how they look by default. Even the pose reflects a base for later animations when moving the limbs.
Everyone keeps missing the scrat reference when pomnis arms get long and her legs get short on the chase scene
GummiGoo also kinda did a Scrat as well in his falling sequence all over the teapots, come to think of it?
Why is nobody mentioning the master of unlocking things?
I definitely noticed it!
While watching I was so confused about the teapot thing.
The only references I caught minus this video, was the paper Mario sound effect, and the mad max, everything else, didn’t know about.
Pomni squeezed while holding two trucks is probably a reference to SpongeBob.
I feel like I've saw literally the same scene with someone holding to two trucks and getting their legs squeezed into them to lengthen hands.
I think it's scrat from ice age
pomni trying to hold onto both trucks and her body got small immediately reminded me of scrat from ice age meltdown
The Fudge seeing the key and telling Jax's, "he must be the master of unlocking things!" is a Resident Evil 1 reference.
Don’t forget that Caine was blowing *bubbles* out of a pipe in *episode 2* and in Murder Drones V was blowing *bubbles* in *episode 2*
When The Fudge refers to Jax as a "Master of Unlocking" its a direct reference to a line from the original Resident Evil when Barry gives the Lockpick to Jill and says " it would be better if you, the Master of Unlocking, take it with you"
I live the attention to detail Gooseworks and their team put into this show
I think Pomni stretching between the cars is a reference to Ice Age 2 when Scrat gets stretched between the two ice bergs breaking apart.
The paper mario soundeffect set off all the nostalgia and familiarity bells in my brain when I first heard it haha
ok i KNEW i wasn't tripping when I heard that portal sound effect
The gummy croc doing a bunch of tricks is also a reference to Mario Kart in how you could trick off of bumps in the track
There's also one where when Caine makes Gumigoo vanish, it's a reference to Don't Hug Me I'm Scared when Red Guy's head explodes
SCRAT REFERENCE!
pomni literally gets streched out the same way as scrat from ice age!!!!
Jax saying that they will be "Augustus glooped" was extremely funny and I only got that on second watchthrough
I heard that and I was like- “WAIT PAPER MARIO HUH-“
Permit-Office-Grian really seems like the annoying quest-giving npc that no matter what you do, he’s never happy and always gives you a longer quest.
That's why it's taking so long, they're looking for references.
I fell on floor and rolled down stairs when jax mentioned August Gloop
Don’t forget about the “figurine thing”…
*war flashbacks*
When I tell you, I yelled, that’s greedy when I saw the fudge monster like I live streamed and I actually yelled that’s greedy. That’s greedy that’s greedy. I’m glad someone else has seen Raggedy Ann and Andy musical adventure.
I'm so glad you mentioned the tea pot. Learning 3D graphics and you come across at least once or twice and it's such a lovely thing to throw in for nerds.
The arms and legs getting sucked into Pomnis body during the truck scene may not be a reference to but is very similar to scratch from ice age when he was trying to hold two ice bergs together
something i noticed that i’m not sure was intentional: when pomni is stretched between the two trucks, it resembles a scene from ice age with scrat stretched like that
When Pomni and Gumigoo make it back to the main map, the Helldivers 2 “Reinforce” boom can be heard just before the truck crowns The Fudge in the head. Even the way the truck damages The Fudge is a nod to the way you can damage and kill stuff in the game with your Hellpod.
The Utah teapot was also use in the classic Screensaver "pipes" as a Easter egg
I NEW IT. When the gloop came on screen, i was like, "wow, gooseworks must really like ragady anne and andy"
Another detail about the Utah Teapot. It was the first 3d rendered object using a computation method known as bezier curves. The teapot object was made by a guy at the University of Utah in the mid 1970's, hence the name.
There is an entire history to the teapot that's pretty cool. Without the teapot we wouldn't have stuff like this.
This is why this show is so good, it takes the good parts of other shows to make something new and better.
Also notable: The Utah Teapot may have been one of, if not _the_ first reference models, as it was used in some early programs to demonstrate their capability in handling complex 3D surfaces,
You have no idea how loud I screamed “THE GREEDY IS IN DIGITAL CIRCUS” when I saw it, it’s just a fantastic reference and I love how fluid they kept his animation
That Mario reference is because of Luke.
DAMN YOU LUKE.
The Fudge saying “You must be a master of unlocking things,” I’m pretty sure it’s a reference to Resident Evil.
When I first saw Jax I could've sworn I'd seen him somewhere else but I can't exactly put my finger on it.
Literally the entire chat screamed Pizza tower when that croco gummy did the flashy moves. How anyone missed it is beyond me
I know it’s also a thing from a cartoon but I can’t remember which one
Not to mention Pomni stretching is also a possible reference to ice age when Scrat, after trying to hold onto two separating ice bergs for fear life, had his arms stretched and body compressed before falling into the water. Similar to Pomni as she was between the drifting tanker trucks.
The reference that i hope im wrong about is the "figurine thing" being a reference to the Gojo figurine incident ムーム
The gummy elephant was a thing I instantly recognized right away. And I also knew I heard a paper Mario TTYD sound effect
The Utah teapot is not just a reference model. It's one of the earliest reference models in CGI. It was used to test a renderer all the way back in 1975.
i'm pretty sure during the chase scene where max does all the poses (like mentioned in the video) isn't actually a reference to pizza tower, more of a reference to doing tricks in other games as gooseworx said in their tumblr
you can also hear the metal pipe falling sound when the truck crashes into the fudge
Nice to see you acknowledged my (and other people’s) pizza tower comments
Oh no. Nintendo could send their lawyers against Glitch Production because of a sound effect.
You do realise SMG4 (Their other channel) has literal nintendo characters and made many Mario 64 parodies initially.
@@MotorwayGaming2018To Be Fair, SMG4 War Of The Fat Italians 2023 Has Already Shown How They Would Win That Case, Primarily The Rap Battle At The End (Long Story Short, Parody Citation)
0:40 It's mainly popular because each 3d software has one model the shows the best traits of what the software can do and the software Maya (an industry standard software)'s was the teapot where as Blender is a monkey head named Suzanne
1. The princess even calls the truck a war rig. The bandits have Australian accents, etc. The Mad Max references are everywhere.
2. The teapot may have also been a reference to Russell’s teapot, a philosophical exercise designed to show that the burden of proof lies on the one making the extraordinary claim. The premise is “prove there isn’t a teapot orbiting the Sun”, which is of course almost as silly as it is impossible to do. Given that Gumigoo had the whole existential crisis, the teapots were floating in the ether out of bounds, and there are the allusions to the Allegory of the Cave, it’s entirely possible the teapot had a dual reference.
3. Allegory of the Cave? Yeah, if anyone isn’t familiar, it’s another philosophy thought experiment about how your conceptions are limited by being a product of your environment. I’ve already gone on long enough, so look it up if needed, but Gumigoo was probably right not to try to explain his experience to his friends, and to leave his world behind.
I actually missed none of these because I’m the ULTIMATE tadc fan
Also when pomni is holding on to both trucks as they move further apart, she stretches and shrinks like scrat from the end of ice age 2.
Finally someone gets the Greedy reference! Along with Ragatha’s design being obviously inspired by Raggedy Ann, Jax’s voice is an imitation of Raggedy Andy!
The amount
Of angst I have seen with ragatga
While
“She’s just a rag dollie… happy and smiling all day a little rag dollie…”
Plays
The Fudge makes a Resident Evil 1 reference, calling Jax “the master of unlocking” like Berry calls Jill in the game. It’s especially relevant since the Fudge is voiced by Lyle Rath, a member of Oneyplays, who have played the game and poked fun at that scene.
Nintendo about to sue tf outta glitch with how petty they are 💀
Jax says, “Driver the truck, driver!” To Gangle at one point in the episode, which is a reference to the English Ghost Stories Dub as a running gag in that series was a similar repeated wording such as “fill the hole, hole filler” and “drive the bus, bus driver”.
when pomni stretches between the 2 trucks she gets smaller and smaller. wich is a reference to scratch (the squirrel from Ace age) who almosg dropped a nut and when he tried to grab it mid air he put his arms on 2 sides of the iceberg, wich made him strech and get smaller
My favourite reference is when jax shows the key to the fudge monster and the fudge monster says something along the lines of "you must be some sort of master of unlocking things." This is a reference to the imfsmous line in the original resident evil when jill is handed a lock pick
It’s not necessarily a reference but more of an intense coincidence. For context, as a horror specialist, one of my favorite concepts involving indie cartoon characters like from this show is imagining them into some of my beloved favorite horror flicks whether it be as fanart or even retelling the story with the characters themselves in it via AI character chats. It’s even more special when you get to put characters in different motives and auras than they would typically give off when they’re not experiencing these stories like perhaps a traumatized Jax or a brooding Pomni. I’ve imagined to myself a good few uncounted times about a TADC version of the 1971 Spielberg horror action/thriller “DUEL”, a pretty great film about a serial killer in a large and menacing tanker truck stalking a man on a business trip out in the deserts. Why am I explaining this? Because when the next episode came out, I’m met with the plotline of the characters out in the desert in a tanker truck. Genuinely a crazy thing to see
Here’s something I noticed. The truck that the circus crew drives as well the fact a shotgun is in it may be a reference or coincidence to Megatron from Transformers 3: dark of the moon
ILL NEVER HEAR MAD MAX WITHOUT THINKING OF MAX FROM STRANGER THINGS 😭
The Croc's going through the spikes could be a reference to spongebob's license episode where Mrs.Puff tries to ditch him. Reminds me of that
Pomni holding the trucks together reminds me of that scene with scrat in ice age the meltdown, when he's trying to keep the glaciers from splitting near the end of the film
The teapot is possibly also a reference to Russell’s teapot, a philosophical thought experiment formulated by Bertrand Russell that hypothesizes a teapot between the Earth and Mars that can’t be disproven.
I actually think there's a reason for all these references. Cain can't create anything original: he can only copy. That's why there's all the content taken from other franchises, but it's also why the computer office world is unfinished. Cain is trying to recreate the outside world, but that's all he can actually see of it from the computer.
"You must be a master of unlocking things!"
When Pomni and Gumigoo’s truck hits the big fudge you can hear the metal pipe mp.3 sound effect!
